Jesus was different because He didn’t care about the Romans ruling the land. He wasn’t concerned with Jewish independence, He was concerned with people’s souls. He even explicitly said at one point to give to Caesar what is Ceaser’s, referring to taxes. The Jews tried to force Him into that militaristic role at one point, but He refused. That is why He was so hated. He wasn’t the messiah that the Jews wanted, He was the messiah that the world needed.

Are you a believer? I think the actual characters started with David but I question the characters preceding him. When you really dig into the history you learn Judaism evolved out of the earlier Canaanite religion.
The original Israelites were indigenous Canaanites. El was the chief deity with Asherah as his wife, Baal and Anat his son and daughter.
Then you find God called Elyon and El Shaddai in the OT.

@SHB77784 that had nothing to do with the question or my answer, so I can only assume u just really wanted me to know how much u love Jesus. Cool. I don't understand what's with this defeating death thing tho. The dude is immortal. Capital G God. He was never in any danger of dying. No death to defeat. Come to think about it, if he didn't really die and couldn't really die, what was the sacrifice? Did he sacrifice a long weekend for our sins? I'm just messing with u. Jesus is cool. I just don't love when people non sequitur their views onto me. There's not much there to work with. U make the claim, Jesus cheated death. U made the claim that nobody else has ever come back from the dead. U made the claim Jesus is the one true messiah. Nobody can prove Jesus came back from the dead since the only writings are from people who already strongly believed. Let's say we take the writings as true. There are other people who came back from the dead in other writings. There's even one in the Hebrew Bible that comes back. We would have to use them all, and with equal measure. Either ancient writers are not telling the truth as we understand, and resurrections don't happen or resurrections happen all the time. U can't say ur book is special because it's your book, and your book says it's special so it is. As for cheating death, he was never in danger if he's actually god. I made that point satirically, but it's still valid. Saying that Jesus is the one true messiah is preposterous. All u had to do to be a messiah is be anointed with special oil and herbs. There were a few messiahs before Jesus. The importance of Jesus was that he was the last messiah. They had their stories and that's something the proto Christian writers tried to force into the narrative. John even writes that bizarre story where Mary anointed Jesus with expensive oil and herbs and Jesus just let's her like he doesn't think you should give your money to the poor.

Correction : Josephus in his book available in English thanks to Penguin Classic books (The Jewish War) says the Romans started the fire when their officers in the heat of battle, lost full control of their men.
That I suggest has a ring of truth.
He wrote, Titus had ordered the Temple untouched.
Then as now, Jewish people who have always seen themselves as two main groups, Jews and Israelites, regularly pray "next year in Jerusalem".
The Jewish Israeli connection with Jerusalem and the lands of Israel & Judean remain profound.
This is something many Muslims unfortunately fail to understand.
