God Bless all...
Aboon Mor Philexenos Paulose (Ayankulangara) came into full communion with the Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, becoming bishop of Chayal. The remaining MISC members had no bishop and had the Marthoma Metropolitan ordain a Metropolitan for the remaining community.

SEAIN JACOB hahaha wat u meant by throne ? do u mean by a cushion seat....so funny. throne means apostolic succession not a cushion seat like marthoma sabha's seat....if u have doubt in it go and ask any apostolic churches.....

I am approaching with Love. Is it loving to smile and nod knowing you know their religion is lacking essential teaching? St. Paul's teaching is clear, all our Churches sing or chant that command before reading his letters. Is he without Love because he was very clear between right and wrong?
no comments ....because to convince you i have to spend my energy..the basic difference with orthodox church is regarding prayers for dead, prayers for st mary and prayers for saint..marthoma position is clear.they have not rejected the status of any of these.
In personal prayer and prayer meetings,Catholics can pray in any style they want:they can shout like a Baptist, scream like a Pentecostal, raise hands like a non-denominational and hum like an Orthodox;the key is to remain in the Church in faith and truth, not deviate from the Fathers, respect saints asking their intercession, pray the Qurbono faithfully, pray for the dead in charity, read the Bible with the wisdom of Church not individualized and independently, love the Liturgy and praise the Lord.
thozhiyoor churchs role in malankara church history is of golden value..their bishops consecrated marthoma 10,11,12and reighned as malankara methrapolithan in a crisis period, and returned the title where time came.palakunnathu mar athanasious consecrated the sucessor for thozhiyoor church when the thozhiyoor methran departed without consecratinfg a bishop.it was palakunnathu thirumeni who advocated for the independence of thozhiyoor church in the court aganist the yuyakim mar koorloose syria.
NIce work.. Though the Song is originally adopted from Syriac Orthodox Church, there is nothing wrong in that practice, I believe. We, Syrian Orthodox Church, use many songs written by Sadhu Kochu Kunju Upadheshi and many others. We all belong to the same Syrian Tradition. Peace!
When a group of Christians were united, then separated due to differences, politics, geography, intrigue, etc. Then discuss and come to a common understanding, accepting each other as true and of the same faith, forgiving past sins to be One, Holy, Apostolic, and Catholic - that's reunion. The Orthodox and Jacobites had that for 20 years before their 2nd schism. You have some sort of union with the protestant Anglicans, and their communion. Opportunism is the nickname of the Malayali.
@maneshzac Praying for departed souls is biblical dear friend; as you can see in 2 Timothy 1: 18, St.Paul the apostle is praying for his departed friend Onesiphorus saying, "The Lord grant to him that he may find mercy from the Lord in that Day." Miracles at the relics of Saints is also biblical as you can see in 2 Kings 13:21 a dead man coming back to life, when he came into contact with the bones (relics) of Prophet Elisha.
marthoma church is in communion with Malabar independent Syrian church,(thozhiyoor church) and has good relations with the malankara jacobite church and the Syrian orthodox church .even though not materialised to communion relation ,engagements and dialogues are on that direction...there was no communion relation ship with catholics by OO,EO,Church of east or any others till 20 th century, so nothing to boast on that. marthoma church is open to all friendly relations .
The Church from the time of Christ is One. Culture and local customs varied. When the first Councils met, they didn't argue over culture, they agreed upon the Faith. The Apostles when they went to Rome, Antioch, Spain, Africa, India, etc.. they assimilated the local culture and Christianized it. Yet, all these communities were One in Faith. Reunion means going back to that Union, as it should be. Malankara Re-union, was not only uniting to Rome, but all the Eastern Catholics, including Malabar.
They need some people around here, all the born abroad youth left and are leaving to go to more protestant "bible church" since Marthoma sect taught them at early age to have Bible only - they learned that achens, incense, curtain, Qurbono, etc is not 'bible only', as they are told. Now they go where pastor wears jeans and there are nice big flat screen tvs. Same happening in Austrailia and even Mumbai. CMS plan worked wonderfully.
this is what marthoma church follows,,no icons other than cross where ever the orientation is worship whether it is in church or homes... but other 2d icons is used for the realisation and spreadof christian teachings and messages
Remember the Canon Cross? It was Koonan Cross. And it had to do with Portuguese oppression over our Church, we are free with our own bishops and Traditions intact, no need to keep a division based on a mistake, corrected from 500 yrs ago.

@ppv203 If Mathoma Church is serious about becoming 'Orthodox'; then it should come out of the Anglican Communion, including CSI, and establish Communion with the Syriac Orthodox Church. Honestly that would be so nice and I believe can help solve the factional fight with in the two groups of the Orthodox Syrian Church in India.
The marthoma church has always maintained ecumenical ties. We aren't coming out to orthodoxy, rather we always have maintained faithful practices in light of biblical truth and followed ancestral faith in an orthodox manner
@@antiochsuryoyo5118 definitely not We belong to Western Syriac Rite and follow St James Liturgy . We are in line with St Thomas Throne and our Episcopal succession has been initiated from Antioch on Mathews Mar Athanasius . We are a Reformed Syriac Church. period
@@christinmathew7 You are 100% purely INCORRECT. I'm a former Marthomite (23 years) that has reunited with the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch. I used to assist in the Marthoma Qurbana, attended leadership conferences (in which one of them I assisted) and more. Wearing West Syriac vestments doesn't make you a partaker of the tradition - you all don't even follow the full Holy Qurbono that Syriac Orthodox, Indian Orthodox, Thozhiyur and even Syro Malankara follow. Also, look up the Mulanthuruthy Padiyola. When Athanasius was being consecrated, he read an oath in front of the then Patriarch and that oath was that he would not change or alter the doctrine of the Syriac Orthodox faith. You're not a Syriac Church, name one achen in your Church that can READ and WRITE Syriac? Not only that, you all don't use Syriac in your Qurbana with the exception of a few words. The Marthoma Church is basically an Anglican Church with some West Syrian externals.
@@antiochsuryoyo5118 Not using Syriac in our public communion doesn't exclude us from the Oriental Orthodox Rite. Our Achens have Hebrew, Syriac and Greek in their BD and they very well can follow the Syriac Taksa. Now there is absolutely no need to prove ourselves as Syrian Christians by following Syriac chants before a Malayali audience who cannot comprehend or understand the prayers in full essence( it becomes ritual then) . We have Nehvoon Mar Thoma, Qolo D Moroyo and Marthoma Syrian Liturgical Choir who now and then actively raise awareness to general audience as well as members about our Liturgical prayers, chants and calendar.

There the parrot sqwaks again "Rome, rome, rome." Dear man, we are discussing the Eastern Churches, all of the above is found in Eastern Catholicism, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, and the Assyrian Church.
This is great..Glad to see that church is bringing back the old syriac chantings and orthodox faith. These were taken away due to the "reformation" which took away some of the core faith and doctrines due to the missionary influences. These changes are an initiative of Mar Barnabas and hopefully won't be shot down by the "biblical" priests. Another step should be to communicate these to all parishes especially the ones in USA which are more like "protestant" due to Western influence.
malnkara syriac,,,in outside india marthoma churches are using the rented space of catholics, easterners, anglicans, and other episcopal churches, protestents too.. catholic clergy to offer the holy sacrament insist for re baptism and confirmation like the pentecostals, which is a herasy for marthoma church .there is only one baptism for salvation. at present we are in communion with anglicans, old catholics, and thozhiyoor church..so we use their service when marthoma kashesha are not available.
that is the peshitta in new version which included the deutro canonical books which was used for meditations.the vishudhagratham came to stalls only in 1998 ,till then it was the BSI sathyavedhapusthakam. nobody had any issues with that untill 1980s.i already have differnt versions of bible my brother in my shelves
The Bible should be learned through the eyes of the Church. If not, you get hundreds of thousands of Protestant denominations from Marthoma to pentecostal to other cults. Always read the Bible with the mind and heart of the holy Fathers and mother Church!
Peshitho that Buchanan was given to translate-“Cambridge, University Library, Oo.I.1,2(also referred to as “12a1″ or as “Buchanan Bible”):12thC. manuscript that probably originated in Tur Abdin area, was later moved to India and later to Cambridge by Claudius Buchanan in the early 19thC.It includes all the books of the Hebrew Bible and Wisdom(of Solomon),Letter of Jeremiah,Baruch,Bel and the Dragon,Susanna,Judith, Sirach,1Maccabees,2Maccabees,Tobit,3Maccabees,4Maccabees,1Esdras,Letter of Baruch”
The Orthodox and Catholics require Chrismation from Marthoma, since Marthoma are outside the Apostolic Church and the clergy are protestant, when they reformed. If you want to be treated the same, you have to believe the same; you can't leave your father's house, abuse it, call it deformed, then expect to be given approval and praise for subsequent actions. Your clergy also attend Lutheran, Anglican, and other protestant seminaries, not Orthodox or Catholic.

Guys for your information, the first malayalam Qurbana was from Orthodox sabha, and it was translated from syriac to malayalam, did anyone (marthomites, syrian catholics or jacobites dare to do this task for making the Holy Qurbana simple to understand for people.
There was aHindu and MuslimImam there as well, being friendly doesnt mean accepting their doctrine.I'm friendly with all faiths,Marthoma, CSI, etc,but I don't accept their faith as from Christ and the Apostles.I'm not perfect at all,but I do know a thing or two about history &Christianity,as well as the Churches in India. As to inviting protestants, none of our ApostolicChurches have been so great about doing anything except being friendly, while our kidsgo join them, not the other way around somuch.
Churches worshiping in the local language is fine, saying you need to be separate because Indian hierarchy and nationalism is what is important is a foreign teaching, not of Christ.
Malpan got married. You missed that history? When British offered money for celibate priests to marry (Rs. 25000), Abraham went and got a wife. He forgot his vows when the money arrived I suppose.
Good luck to you. My hope for reunification includes honest dialogue and clear conversation, not smiles and pretending we all believe the same things. Ecumenism is not being in a Malayali association and performing during Christmas, it is toward a goal of being one - which is not being put into action by any of our communities.

We are not Latin because we were not handed the Latin faith and traditions. Can you say your church is One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic?
Grow Up Guys, We need to understand that all these were made for man and by man itself,
we claim what is least important in our life,
Can anyone dare to claim Christ that he belongs to Orthodox, Catholic, or Marthomite, all the reformations was made by man for his simplicity, here its just a song and treat it as it is, did anybody filled any legal petition claiming that this song belongs to them, so why are we crying over it, arguing that this belongs to so and so and all, just Grow Up with your mind and please change your mindset, as Christ is One and is One for all of us.......
God Bless all...
Right buddy.
Do not worship men, only God is worthy to be praised
Proud to be a marthomite
superbbb
Great one!!
One more thing. The Malankara throne is still with Marthoma Metropolitans ,Aramana, at Poolatheen, Thiruvalla. You are free to visit and analyze the existence
SEAIN JACOB fake throne
Fake throne is the one claimed by Orthodox faction- The Marthoma Simhasanam
SEAIN JACOB hahaha wat u meant by throne ? do u mean by a cushion seat....so funny. throne means apostolic succession not a cushion seat like marthoma sabha's seat....if u have doubt in it go and ask any apostolic churches.....
+malankara sabha Well it was used from the very first Marthoma... No one said that a throne represent a 10 foot tall chair !
the throne you are claiming was thrown out from Kottayam Old Seminary along with Mathews Mar Athanasios and his belongings. And the throne with you is not the Malankara throne, it's just Marthoma throne of yours'.
I liked a lot prais the lord 🙏
സ്വഗതമേ നല്ലോരിടായ...
Peace!
നീണാൾ വാഴുക മാർത്തോമാ. Long live Marthoma.
And also, this Thobaslom song is not used in ordination ceremonies for Mar Thoma Church.
Why fight about whose song it is. It is rather respected to appreciate over it
This is syrian song...
this is what marthoma church follows,,no icons other than cross where ever the orientation is worship whether it is in church or homes... but other 2d icons is used for the realisation and spreadof christian teachings and messages
Remember the Canon Cross? It was Koonan Cross. And it had to do with Portuguese oppression over our Church, we are free with our own bishops and Traditions intact, no need to keep a division based on a mistake, corrected from 500 yrs ago.
thanksssss DSMC
Mr. Sabu George....ningal first adi nirthy parasparam snehikku..ennitu njangale upadeshikku...............swantham kannil kole irikumbol aduthullavante kannile karadu edukan pokaruthu.....................

Great work DSMC
You should follow the example of Cardinal Cleemis, he is a humble servant of God and a mere man like you can learn a lot from him on how to be a good Christian.
i am accepting the history, that is what i have written.in 1807 the translation was made for 4 gospels on the syriac manuscript of peshitha.it was printed in 1811,it was monitored by philipose rambam and thimmaya pilla.in 1817 benchamin bailey started the works of complete translation of bible with availabe tamil, syriac and greek bibles.this was monitored by 8 syrian malpans and kasheshas and reported to malankara methrapolitha .from 1842 to 1998 the entire malankara used only sathyavedapusthakam
@@christinmathew7 Wrong. Faithful practices of the Marthoma Church are based on Anglican/Episcopal/Protestant theological outlook.
@@antiochsuryoyo5118 definitely not
We belong to Western Syriac Rite and follow St James Liturgy .
Soon? Us Malankara Syrian Catholics already sing this. By the way, did you know this about Moran Mor Aphrem: "Patriarch Mor Ignatios Aphrem I Barsoum was born on June 15, 1887, in Mosul, Iraq. He received his early education in a private Dominican school, studying French and Turkish as well as religious literature and history; later he learned Arabic under the training of Muslim scholars." - sor.cua.edu/Personage/PAphrem1/ HH was educated by Catholics,in theology as well as language, culture.
k n daniel was one of the most respected and intellectual persons of marthoma church. the reformetion envisaged in marthoma church is return to the original. we always gave importance for the concepts of devine mystery that no human can unfold. he was on a stream to explain all phenomenons in faith .he explained eucharist as memmorialism, death as sleeping souls ,etc.which was not acceptable to majority.malpan never tried to join CMS,
Just post it online and put the link, you don't need my email for that.
If you want a complete Pshetho Bible in Malayalam, find "Vishudhagrandham" by ArchCorepiscopo Most Rev. Dr. Kaniyamparampil Malpan, use it with Patristic notes from the Orthodox Study Bible or the Revised Standard Version - 2nd Catholic Edition.
proud of orthodox church
Beautiful Song
There the parrot sqwaks again "Rome, rome, rome." Dear man, we are discussing the Eastern Churches, all of the above is found in Eastern Catholicism, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, and the Assyrian Church.
very good song
This is great..Glad to see that church is bringing back the old syriac chantings and orthodox faith. These were taken away due to the "reformation" which took away some of the core faith and doctrines due to the missionary influences. These changes are an initiative of Mar Barnabas and hopefully won't be shot down by the "biblical" priests.
Another step should be to communicate these to all parishes especially the ones in USA which are more like "protestant" due to Western influence.
@sajeshachen thanks for the comment.. dear achen lyrics is available with CD. you can buy from DSMC office. I dont have now..
The breakdown has already started.
For you mutual recognition means "accept whatever changes we made, even those which are against Apostolic Biblical tradition."
I love this song
malnkara syriac,,,in outside india marthoma churches are using the rented space of catholics, easterners, anglicans, and other episcopal churches, protestents too.. catholic clergy to offer the holy sacrament insist for re baptism and confirmation like the pentecostals, which is a herasy for marthoma church .there is only one baptism for salvation. at present we are in communion with anglicans, old catholics, and thozhiyoor church..so we use their service when marthoma kashesha are not available.
The most basic difference is that you are not Orthodox. You changed, "reformed" and went your own way.
that is the peshitta in new version which included the deutro canonical books which was used for meditations.the vishudhagratham came to stalls only in 1998 ,till then it was the BSI sathyavedhapusthakam. nobody had any issues with that untill 1980s.i already have differnt versions of bible my brother in my shelves
The Bible should be learned through the eyes of the Church. If not, you get hundreds of thousands of Protestant denominations from Marthoma to pentecostal to other cults. Always read the Bible with the mind and heart of the holy Fathers and mother Church!
i am a lay men like you....the procedure or way is the responsibity of spiritual teachers and marthoma of our church let them do it.
supperrrrrrr
God created human beings and human beings created religions
Spoon feed - you avoid the first question you put up until now. What is the purpose of your 15day Lent? What feast does it end with? Who is the Lent and Feast for?
He forgot his vows when the money arrived I suppose.
neenal vazhuka marthoma
Good luck to you. My hope for reunification includes honest dialogue and clear conversation, not smiles and pretending we all believe the same things. Ecumenism is not being in a Malayali association and performing during Christmas, it is toward a goal of being one - which is not being put into action by any of our communities.
The legend of Pope Joan was "effectively demolished" by David Blondel, a mid-17th century Protestant historian, who suggested that Pope Joan's tale may have originated in a satire against Pope John XI, who died in his early 20s.[8] Blondel, through detailed analysis of the claims and suggested timings, argued that no such events could have happened. by the roadside and everywhere, to be revered by all who might see them. For the more they are contemplated, the more they move to fervent memory of their prototypes. Therefore, it is proper to accord to them a fervent and reverent adoration, not, however, the veritable worship which, according to our faith, belongs to the Divine Being alone - for the honor accorded to the image passes over to its prototype, and whoever adores the image adores in it the reality of what is there represented."
Except Marthoma group have never used that song. They prefer modern Malayalam songs or translated Anglican hymns.
Praise the Lord
Sure. We are marketing Jesus and His Holy Body, the Catholic Church. How's that for a sales pitch.
