- Welcome back Familia! In today's episode, we take a trip to Tagaytay where the cooler climate is waiting for us. We visit Farmer's Table and meet with Martin Wisneiwski, Chef Kalel Chan, and Gian from the Raintree Restaurants.
We were so humbled and grateful for their hospitality! They have taken Filipino food on a different level with the dishes that they serve here at the restaurant. Not only did they taste amazing, but they looked so pretty! ☺️ This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Tagaytay, Philippines.
Thank you to the team from Raintree Hospitality Group for everything! We can't say thank you enough!
Full disclosure: this is not a paid promotion and what you see here is our unbiased reviews.

Food reviews on Filipino food
American moves to Philippines
Come for the food, stay for the friends! Let me know what you guys think of the full episodes of food reviews. Should we keep doing reviews like these and visit other restaurants?
Hope you guys enjoy today's episode ❤
Keep doing the reviews. I have a list of places to try when I go back home. Thank you!
🇵🇭❤️More reviews please. Can you try the Sinigang na Maya-,Maya (Pink/Red Snapper) and the Goat Caldereta and Papaitan (Goat meat, innards with its bile)? They're delicious but for the Papaitan, you might need to have an acquired taste for it, goes well with beer though.👍🤟
We love it but can you include the prices or show the menu.
Keep doing please…😊 Kuya is very smart and have good appetite for filipino foods😊
JUst a new subscriber , you inspired me as a pilipino I also live in california right now in silicon valley. Your blogs inspired me more to finally move back in my own country the Philippines next year. You're exactly right that moving there is more comfortable, than here where everything is exfensive.
Kuya has grown so fast! He’s comments on the food has become more profound and so well that you can taste what he’s saying!! Great job kuya!! I love your family!!
Stay safe and god bless!!
Salamat po!
enjoy guys
Salamat po!! It was a fantastic meal.
Tawilis is a type of fish that can only be found in Taal Lake. So usually, only restaurants around Tagaytay are able to serve it and nowhere else in the country. Tuyo is just dried fish 😊
Aha! Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼
Your son is already a star, UA-camr reaction was everything 🎉
Thank you!
Mom looks really Proud when her son is giving a great foodie opinion ❤❤❤
I am incredibly proud of him 🥰
Hello mam!! I love the way how you deliver your vlogg, kind and humble, organized. Your kids are also participating fairly without influencing your idea, they are smart and humble kids, and also I am one of your thousands subs who are not skipping ads in your channel.
Godspeed!!
Thank you so much for subscribing and watching our channel!!
Your son (kuya) is a good food critic, he knows well what he is eating. I envy him so much cause when i eat i just eat it so much until full, and never really think of the ingredients as long as it cook beautifully.
Awwww thank you so much!
Wow. Kuya speaks so well like a professional food vlogger. Keep it up guys! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much!
The kale and pineapple smoothie rection was spot on! He is going to be a world renouned chef someday!
Awww thank you so much!
Love the voice over concept. It give clarity to the events that is being shown on the vlogs. And Kuya's food comments are always on point. He knows his food. 😍😍😍
Thank you so much! We are so glad to hear that you’re enjoying the content.
Such a lovely vlog. I live near Tagaytay and still not able to go to this restaurant. One day, I will. Thanks for showing us around and nice to see the gentlemen behind this lovely restaurant.
It's an awesome experience for sure, I do hope you get to visit one day! Please tell them you watched them on the vlog, they will love that ☺️
Tuyo is, I think, sun-dried tawilis while the crispy tawilis is fresh-catch then breaded deep fried tawilis. Your eldest son is really so good with food tasting, he can describe every food with precision on the distinct taste of a dish. He really is your future vlogger, your food adventurer.
Thank you so much!
I've been there twice. Farmer's Table is the best specially the food tapsilog, ube champorado, kapeng barako. This place is worth dying to comeback again.
Soooo good!
Kuya has the potential to become a successful food or chef vlogger
His takes on food subjects are definitely worth watching
Spread the word! We’ve been sharing his insights with this community for over a year now and we really hope that more folks will see how good he is at understanding food. Thank you for the sweet compliment ☺️
Kuya can have his own vlog one day, haha! He's so eloquent like a true foodie! Love your vlog, guys!
Thank you!! 😁 Maybe one day 😉
Kuya should start his own channel coz he’s very good in giving his honest opinion about his food experiences. You’ll never know he’ll get fast followers.
He’s amazing… but not super motivated to have his own channel quite yet. We know he’ll get there someday though 😉 thank you so much for watching!!
Your son speaks from the heart in commenting for Bulalo Soup
Thank you so much for such a sweet compliment ☺️
I'm currently watched this morning 🌞 new food vlog by eating beef bulalo is so delicious when the soup broth comes into more flavorful. My eldest sisters previously went to Tagaytay for their staycation, a cold weather just like Baguio I'm wishing to go when my parents having a plan soon.
Thank you so much for watching!
The cut from bulalo was actually brisket cut! That's a genius right that to be able to taste that part of the beef. I am so impressed.
So good!!!
Tawilis differs greatly from Tuyo. While Tuyo is known for its saltiness and difficult peeling, Tawilis boasts a crispy texture and easy chewiness. You're correct, Kuya. Laing, a staple dish in the Bicol region, is typically served with spices. Just in case you haven't been there.
Awesome info, thank you so much for sharing!
That laing looks so good! I think im gonna make some , bought a bag of dried taro leaves from asian market! Thank you for sharing your family’s Tagaytay adventure! God bless!
Yummy! I hope you made it and I bet it was masarap 🤤
Tawilis is a species of freshwater sardine that got landlocked inside Taal Lake. Tuyo is any dried salted fish usually made with sardines, mostly the saltwater version. Daing is any fish that is split open then salted and dried. Dilis is a type of anchovy that can be dried (tuyo), fresh (sariwa), or fermented (buro) before cooking and serving it.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing this information ☺️
This place looks amazing! The ambiance itself looks worth the visit. I wish we had visited Tagaytay longer than just passing through it. Nelvine loved the Bulalo👌And the views are everything there🙌 By the way, you look beautiful in that color dress 👗👗👗👗👗
Thanks! Major Sunday brunch/winery vibes for sure. Bulalo is this region is the best of course and we hope to see you all again soon!
Wow we just ate there one week ago and i agree the food there is AMAZING!!!!!
Love this restaurant! It’s definitely a must visit when in Tagaytay ❤️
Laing is originally from Bicol Region. This a region of people who love spicy foods. They also have this spicy dish called Bicol express. Most of the filipino dish have strong taste that's why it always have to be eaten with rice to neutralize. Weirdly I like white corns far more than the yellow corns. I can't explain why but I love the taste of it.
I look forward to visiting the Bicol region someday - I am missing the "spicy" element of foods since a lot of the foods we eat here seem to be either sweet or sour.
Tuyo means dried.so it is dried fish of any fish type.Tawilis is a type of fresh water fish available only in Taal lake and its rivers. It is a salt water fish that migrated to Taal lake and evolved into tasty type of fish.
Thank you so much for sharing!
HELLO! LIVIN LA VIDA ITS NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN IN TAGAYTAY CITY
Hello 😊 thank you!
Hallo LLVL
Am a new subscriber of yours watching from the Netherlands.
I think your boy has potentials, for sure he can be a good food critic or food and travel vlogger, or can be good chef and etc.
Mabuhay,
Amor
Thanks for subbing and thank you so much for watching!!
Just subscribed as I love your episodes. Your voice comes clear. You’re very descriptive of the places you go to and food you eat. I guess your son gets that from you. It also helps if you have wireless mike which not all vloggers have. Keep it up 👍🏼
Thanks so much for watching and for subscribing! 😊
Tuyo is general name for dried fish, Tawilis is one type or common type of tuyo, others are Danggit, espada, bolinao etc. Dilis is small dried fish.
Thank you for sharing ❤️
Laing dish is one of Bicol's authentic food..I like with red chile (laboyo or silee in bicol)
I can’t wait to visit Bicol region and try all of the spicy foods!
You’ve got a very bright we’ll spoken in your first son. He’ll go along way..👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you so much 🥰
There's a sweet white corn variety that's locally known as 'lagkitan' meaning sticky. The one that you purchased and ate is not lagkitan corn....very nice vlog in Tagaytay, I can see that their food are really good 👌 😋. Stay safe and God bless your 🙌 your family 🙏🍀💖
Thank you for sharing! We appreciate all of the positivity from our community and hope to continue bringing more content like this to you ☺️
Farmers' Table is a hidden getaway in Tagaytay area.
The spread of assorted mouth watering food is a must.. Love their smoked tinapa cream croquettes, crispy cauliflower, sizzling gambas, fresh spring rolls, kare kare and their butter pecan and pistacchio ice cream..The best place to eat and hang out with family and friends. Highly recommended 👍👍👍
🇵🇭❤️All yummy food! Have you tried the Batangas brewed coffee called Kapeng Barako? It's good to be partnered with Fresh Buko Pie. Heavenly! 🤟👍
I love Barako coffee 🥰 we actually picked some up on the way home that day. I love to pair mine with the Buko Tarts from Rowena's.
Tawalis is endemic to taal lake. Dilis is from the ocean or sea. Tuyo is dried salty fish but 3-4x bigger than tawilis but smaller than galunggong. Dried salty fish as big as tilapia are called daing ( because it can be butterflied). The most expensive and delicious daeng is called New Look endemic to Bicol, sometimes it cost P1,200 pesos per kg
Thank you so much for clarifying ☺️
Enjoy in the Philippines 🎉
We are loving it here 😊
Another great episode I will surely visit this place when I come visit The Philippines 🇵🇭👍👍

Thank you so much! He's actually been asking to learn new words to describe food ☺️ he loves sharing his gift with our viewers.
That looks so delicious, btw, I just gobbled up a plateful of yummy fluffy cake with butter cream icing.
Oh wow! A plateful of yummy cake sounds so good - I gave up desserts for lenten season this year.
The way kuya describe the food is ssooooooo goooddd!
🥰

We will absolutely look into it! Thank you for sharing ✌🏼❤️🇵🇭
❤ thank you for being a filipino! We love and support you. Im a new subscriber!❤
Salamat po!! ✌🏼❤️🇵🇭
I also learned to appreciate laing really late. Probably because it looks gross. But it does taste good, especially with any dried dish, that crispy tawilis included.
It’s got an interesting look for sure 😳 but it really surprised me with how delicious it was!
You're missing out if you haven't tried the "Bulalo" dish at the food court in Mahogany Market. This dish has a more authentic and tantalizing flavor in the local eatery or carinderia compared to posh restaurants.
Hopefully we will have several more opportunities to try these types of dishes in various restaurants and carinderias in order to compare the flavors.

I know you will continue to do more interesting content...because in the PI it's endless....
I'm from Socal....born in the PI but raised in Socal.....Socal Grind you guys know how it is...wish I was there....Godbless
Thank you so much for the positive and encouraging comment! We hope to continue doing this for as long as Kuya will share his palate with our viewers ☺️ and as long as I can keep finding new things to discover about this culture!
@@LLVT But I also love Temecula a lot of good restaurant...not to mention the Wineries ...been there more than a dozen times and can't miss Old town Temec Restaurants .......you want to find Filipinos go to Pechanga You will find them all there lol.... You get tired of all that San Diego's an hour away ...there's nothing like living in Cali!!! Everything is here !!! I love the Philippines but I can't live there anymore .... I will visit for months since my parents have a house in Santa Rosa Laguna But I notice it's hard to trust people even relatives And after a while Everything becomes monotonous .. You can only do so much there.... And you don't really save that much money there specially if you go out a lot ....It gets costly there too ....99cents store is cheaper here than some of the stuff you buy there... Just saying my 2cent but if works for you guys then that's all that matters
Tagaytay bulalo and lomi is the best there. Salamat!
Masarap!

Beautiful Tagaytay!
tawilis is native in the vicinity of batangas laguna, more of an upgrade from tuyo which is very salty than tawilis
Aha! Thank you for sharing✌🏼❤️🇵🇭
Laing is one of my favorite too😊😊
I was so surprised!
You can enroll your kids to an international school in Makati called International School, or an international school in BGC.
Yes! We looked at both of them, but we do prefer the flexibility we have with homeschool right now. It allows us to travel anytime we want.
Thanks for mentioning there's a vegetarian dish there, noting it.
😉✌🏼
I like bulalo
We love it!!
Now we know where their talents come's from. Their Mother.
😉 Dad is the one who finds the good foods… mommy and Kasen definitely explain it best!
Shout out mam its me Ryan your grab driver
Hello Ryan!! Thanks for being so awesome!
Im a new subscriber. And i find your vlog very interesting and has good content. I am also watching a vlog that looks the same content and your experiences are also same moving from the philippines. I suggest you have a collab with them :) they are the kito family.
Hello po! Thank you so much for the suggestion - we are very open to meeting all of the vlogging families here in the Philippines. Hopefully we will get the opportunity to see them as well.

Your son is very eloquent, I’m impressed how old is he. 25?
🤭 thank you so much, he’s actually 11 years old!
Stay safe and God bless.
Salamat po!
@@LLVT You're welcome.
☺️☺️☺️☺️❤️❤️❤️
✌🏼
It's funny, the laeng was served on a half niyog shell with the white meat still in there. I think it's a waste of coconut meat. Niyog costs 35pesos in MM. Buko is different from niyog for gata. Beware vegetarians, laeng is also cooked with fermented shrimp paste. Pork fat is added to enhanced the taste further.
We definitely ate that coconut meat too 😊 traditional Laing is cooked with fermented shrimp paste and/or pork fat however, the chef assured us that this version was vegetarian friendly.
“Tuyo” and “tawilis” are not the same. “Tuyo” ris a generic term for any dried fish. That “tawilis” you ate was fried (not dried). “Tawilis” is the only freshwater sardine in the world, and it can only be found in Taal Lake. Just an additional info - Taal is part of Batangas while Tagaytay is part of Cavite.
Thank you so much for clarifying!
I went there.. there were too many people, so we waited for morethan 3hrs to get a seat. All the while there were vacant seats inside.. they kept saying it was reserved but up until we finish eating, nobody was sitting there and still there were people in the queue.
Now for the food, the bulalo was too salty you cant drink the soup even with rice it was too salty. There were a handful of meat and veg so each person could only get a cube of meat and a piece of string bean or 1 sliced leaf of cabbage. There were only 6 of us. They dont even serve the bulalo with bowls you have to ask for it and even then they would only bring a couple or so, so you need to ask again. I dont mind the heat coz its not in tagaytay proper but pls put up some fans we were all sweating while eating and they only had this ceiling fans for all.
Overall been there, ate several dishes.. there was nothing special, subpar at most. For all the hassle and price i'd rather eat at bulalo capital (2nd branch). It's just basically hype not comming back.
Bicolano yàta
Nice Tagalog !!
Salamat po!
