Thank you for the insight! I haven't roll searched since I was eight, but as of late have considered the hobby again. I'm almost 50 now, and seem to have more time on my hands. I pulled out my coin collection, that has been stored for about 30 years. I had a pretty good eye back in those days! I was amazed. Once again, many thanks.
Im glad i saved all my uncirculated rolls because over time ive been able to go back and find varieties that i wasnt able to diagnose to begin with and im still learning
Very true. For example, I was looking for the "W" mint 2019 quarters. I kept all the Denver's mint and philly mints as well bc later I found out there were several varieties

Daniel Thank you. Have a plan 1. No matter what copper is worth 2 cents. 2. No matter what time will increase the value , this will really take effect when the coin is discontinued. 3. Volume is key as if you have a high number of coins the likelihood becomes higher. 4. Create a bulk and then search with detail and a list of high value errors. 5. Buy at face value and you can’t go wrong.
Sooooo TRUE! I’m a beginner n I never thought that I will just easily find one super valuable for just start it. But I just looking for some articles or website that can help me learn bout all these like errors and varieties. I’ll more treat this hunting like a way to relax myself. Thanks for another great video. My primary motivation for hunting rolls is it is something I just enjoy doing. I knew before I got into it that making really valuable finds would be rare. Coins in general has been a fun hobby for me since I got into them in 2013 I believe I was around 25-26 at the time and am 32 almost 33 now. I have learned quite a bit from different sources including your channel and forums. I plan on buying a new copy of the cherry-pickers guide soon. I am just starting out with pennies for right now. I have been going through and filling up a Whittman album, and upgrading coins when I find upgrades. My dad is going to give me access to a lot of truly unsearched rolls of pennies going back until at least the 30s which his father collected. My parents have been supportive of me doing things with coins. Thank you for another great video
Thanks Daniel for the great video. You are absolutely right about the importance of Educating oneself before doing any CRH. A person has a far better chance of succeeding in finding Varieties and Errors when they know what to look for. Books and Websites are an excellent place to start.

So many great points made in this video. I've seen the most seasoned of them know they are wrong in a coin situation but pride blinds them. Lol Great video, so many good points made. Thanks Daniel!
There are way too many videos on YT telling people they can find these "error" coins that are worth thousands of dollars, getting people's hopes up that they can find them so easily.
I have to agree with everything you've said because I've seen that in others. Luckily, I'm not motivated by money, just appreciation of history, some nostalgia and coin design. Coins are kind of fascinating. But at the end of the day, I'm only interested in filling my Whitman Coin Folders (LOL) and I haven't started buying cases of coin rolls because I figure that method would fill my folders too quickly. I'm in no rush. Thanks, Daniel!
Another great video. I used to search rolls of half dollars for silver. Found a ton of 40% and a fair amount of 90% silver. Loved the treasure hunt! Still try once in awhile, but it's harder to find silver nowadays.
Hi!!! I am really new having an interest in coins. Almost the first time I checked my pocket change, I found one of those 2019 floating head pennies that are under scrutiny. A little later I found a different penny that is certainly an error, though not DD. Since I have not seen anybody’s review of this kind of error, could I assume it’s just worthless?
That was really good advice Daniel, I liked your hunting analogy. I have dressed out quite a few deer for first time hunters. And when my wife gets one it's everytime. I see what you are saying. I myself have sent coins off for identification some I was right more I was not. I think I have a little better understanding now after spending money. Keep up the good work.
Another good video Daniel! I've seen people on you tube searching for varieties and errors in coins. They can go through a hundred boxes before they find something. It's sometimes not worth the effort to go through these boxes. I found one penny looking through change that was a floating roof and no initials variety only to find out that it's a common variety, not worth grading.
I've tried buying Cherry Pickers Guide. I figured on paying $30 maybe $40 on the high end for a paperback, but I can't find it for less than $200 or $300!! BUT SOME FOLKS GET MAD WHEN YOU TELL THEM THERE COIN ISN'T WORTH ANYTHING. I DON'T EVEN TELL THEM ANYMORE THEY CAN LEARN THE HARD WAY. G OOD VIDEO DANIEL I NO EXACTLY WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT.
Great video! A lot of great information as well. As a newer coin collecting enthusiast I started coin roll hunting. Not to think I'll find some 1,000 dollar coin, but for the experience and sometimes you find keepers and it's just enjoyable. Spend about 20 a week dimes nickles and pennies. No real goodies yet found 1 1976 S mint dime, in near mint state. And a very few off center strikes (>15%) unfortunately. But I still enjoy CRR a lot
comando1911 - the 1976-S dime is a proof only coin. Someone put that into circulation. Likely stolen at one time and broke out by thieves who didn’t know anything about proof sets.
Keep a looking it'll come. When you do find something(clipped or blank planchet ,rpm, ddo)dont get discouraged when you find that its common .I love coin roll hunting boxes from the bank but my most fruitful has been from uncirculated rolls i bought
Thanks for sharing. I think this is also a good video for some folks who feel like they are getting lit up in the (FB) comments to watch. I am still searching and watching your videos, and after doing so I can see that my first few posts were likely annoying to some of the more senior members. I too have been guilty of feeling like some one was coming at me in the comments (only once), and I am glad I bit my tongue because a few days later (through more research unrelated to the post) I realized that not only was the person right, but I mistook their genuine desire to help me for kind of a passive aggressive poke. It turned out I did not understand the difference between an error, a variety, and the different stages of die life.
Thank you master you the best i need it something like that I just about quick roll hunting u right about you video makes a lot it sense appreciate that very much thank u again for you wonderful video!
Daniel. An excellent channel. I would advise roll searchers to lower their expectations. If you look at other roll searcher you tube videos, they get excited if they find a common foreign coin.

Hello Daniel great video my friend I do alot of roll hunting and boxes from the bank and so forth I consider myself avid collector and roll hunter. With that being said I wish you would do a video that will kinda be a sequel to this one .On buying tube versus bank wrapped versus mint sewn,or any other way Lincoln or any of the other denominations are sold. Thanks
Thank for this very informative video..I'm a fairly new coin searcher and I was about to give up. Can you list the sites that I can send a pick and seek advice on a coin?
What gets me is you hear about all these auctions of condition rarities. Then you collect a whole bunch of coins in excellent condition and they are not worth much over face value. The pawn shops don't even want them.
That's correct I've looked through thousands of coins and it's rare to find any silver or rare coins. Theres a guy on you tube I loved watching his videos until one day I thought this is fake to get viewers. I quit watching his videos. He finds great coins every box he gets I say bull hocky. I been doing this over 50 yrs It dont happen every box. I would bet if you bought a hundred boxes of quarters you wouldn't find one silver. Also hes finding 1909 s Penny's in boxes 1914d pennies.Hes full of it don't happen.
Good advice, but there seems to be two types of coin roll hunters... those who do it for fun and those who do it hoping to sell their finds for profit. This video seems aimed at the later group. For any coin roll hunter, a huge mistake is not developing a good relationship with bank tellers. The tellers will quickly get tired of you if you're always asking for coin rolls, but not showing a little appreciation in return. (Show them your sincere gratitude, get to know their names, and perhaps bring them little gifts or treats.) Also, it's important to "dump" your searched coins at a different bank. If your banks cut off your supply, it will put a quick end to your hunting.
Well I’m glad you got that sorted but honestly even if a coin isn’t rare we should all get excited for the new collector that found even a clash. Let’s celebrate
It’s the only way to get new collectors excited and hooked on collecting because the odds of them finding something amazing are slim make sure they know it’s not an expensive coins but a good find. It’s like a pat on the back.
Hunting coins without learning FIRST is like hearing about what an appendectomy is and doing one without the education beforehand. I could recount a joke but it is too long...but the punch line is "$10 for fixing the problem, $990 for knowing where the problem is."

I've tried buying Cherry Pickers Guide. I figured on paying $30 maybe $40 on the high end for a paperback, but I can't find it for less than $200 or $300!! Some are asking $500 or more for it, it's crazy!!! My budget won't allow that!! So I just learn as much as I can with Channels like this one!! Thank you!!
Have a GREAT Day!!!
Shane try half priced books.
@@ricktempleton3107 They had just jacked up the price for Christmas think. Because I found it online for what I was expecting to pay in February or March
Sir I have 2 quarters that have. Satin gray finish, the rim is copper and silver. How should deal with the these?
Thanks I watch your videos often I am one of those guys that is new at coin collecting recently retired have coins I have been putting back for years I have several state quarters still in rolls the year they came out I’m learning from your videos to search and enjoy
I watch the hunting videos, they can take an hour to search a box for silver. You have to value your time.
It is fun though :)!
what magnification should one use to search for errors
10x
Dude I am a FAN OF YOURS. THSNK YOU. FOR YOUR INSIGHT AND WISDOM
Daniel I have 14 1982d coins they all weigh 3.1.the two does not look right by have heard from nemmistick magazine that if it wt is 3.1 that I have the right coin. Please advise.
Found a 1960 d nickel repunched mint in excellent condition worth getting graded?
No, these are common. Always look up sold coins auctions to see if it grades high enough to send off.
Thanknyou, great video.
I remember those booklets that claimed they would pay for certain coins. The coins were fairly rare and more then likely not found in circulation. I wouldn't be surprised if those booklets got people going through coin rolls.
They did
Excellent advice. Stay humble and stay informed! Appreciate you caring enough to take the time to make this video.
Thanks for the great info
Great video, i agree 100% with this. Another great tool for research is youtube and watching videos and seeing what others are finding, or talking about. I know i didn't know about the 75d nickel with the mint mark up higher until i watched your video on it. No matter how much you know you cant know everything, and have to be willing to learn all the time. Cya
You are the only person on UA-cam that I will sit through the ads for
Thank you. I don't control what is shown but they do help my channel.
'Deer Gun' season is the most dangerous.
Nothing scarier than staring down a deer when he has
a Ruger .308 pointed at you.
Also- There is some kind of a gun 'rack'
joke in there to be had but....
Thanks Daniel for another great video, I feel like I learn something new every time I sit down to watch the channel ..I've really been researching and doing my Numismatic homework for the last year. I'm far better off now then when I first subbed..good stuff!
Thanks for you advice. Great Job.
you just we me over, I love how you're deeply letting folks know the truth!!
Thanks Daniel
Keep up the good work. Please.
Nice advice. Thank you for your channel. It's very informative.
I have a US nickel that looks rainbow ish. 2006D liberty it’s like pink gold kinda where do I find out to get graded

"Get some professional help".....lol...great video Dan!!!! Keep em comin!!!!!
I am new to your channel. Wonderful Video, I have been looking for a video like this! Thank you for your time and knowledge.
Thank you for the website information
Thanks for the info Daniel! I'm going to go buy a box of pennies now. I should find at least one 1969-S DDO and one 55 DDO in that box. Lol have a good day!
I PERSONALLY HAVE JOINED SOME COIN GROUPS TO HELP WITH GIVING ADVICE TO HELP FOLKS. I BEEN COLLECTING COINS FOR 55 YRS AND STILL DON'T NO IT ALL AND DON'T EVEN CLAIM TO. BUT SOME FOLKS GET MAD WHEN YOU TELL THEM THERE COIN ISN'T WORTH ANYTHING. I DON'T EVEN TELL THEM ANYMORE THEY CAN LEARN THE HARD WAY. G OOD VIDEO DANIEL I NO EXACTLY WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT.
Thanks Daniel! I really appreciate your honesty & knowledge.
I love coins for the history!
Thank you for the information, it truly help allot.
Good info👍 well said
Thank you master you the best i need it something like that I just about quick roll hunting u right about you video makes a lot it sense appreciate that very much thank u again for you wonderful video!
Again thank you for the information
Daniel. An excellent channel. I would advise roll searchers to lower their expectations. If you look at other roll searcher you tube videos, they get excited if they find a common foreign coin.
There's nothing wrong with CRH in general if you like it, whatever you happen to be looking for. But don't expect to make even minimum wage doing it.
Excellent video for people starting out on the hobby. Thx Daniel
Well said Daniel.
Much much thanks, Daniel!!! This video made a lot of good sense!!!!
i was happy to buy two pcgs graded ms65 washington quarters one was a 1946-s and another was 1939-p i got both for 95 U.S with free shipping and handling getting pcgs graded coins in canada is hard
Hello Daniel great video my friend
I do alot of roll hunting and boxes from the bank and so forth I consider myself avid collector and roll hunter. With that being said I wish you would do a video that will kinda be a sequel to this one .On buying tube versus bank wrapped versus mint sewn,or any other way Lincoln or any of the other denominations are sold. Thanks
My son and I searched 3, $500 1/2 dollar boxes and found a '64, two 68's, and a '69.
Yes sir so true..😎😎😎😎😎
👍👍
Excellent advice
Thank for this very informative video..I'm a fairly new coin searcher and I was about to give up. Can you list the sites that I can send a pick and seek advice on a coin?
CONECA website
What gets me is you hear about all these auctions of condition rarities. Then you collect a whole bunch of coins in excellent condition and they are not worth much over face value.
The pawn shops don't even want them.
Pawn Shops USUALLY stick with Morgan and Peace Dollars, not much else.
@@ricktempleton3107 Yeah I think most of those coin hunt videos are fake. I can't watch them.
Nope it's aimed at those coin roll hunting that don't know anything about coins and wants other people to tell them instead of learning themselves.
@@CoinHELPu It's a waste of breath trying to educate those kinds of people. Even if they watched your video, they wouldn't take the advice to heart.
That’s why I don’t look for errors. It take to much time and I don’t know what I am looking for.
Great educational video 👍
Good Morning Daniel!🍵 I would enjoy leaning back and watching you handle a passive aggressive coin searcher!😊
Well I’m glad you got that sorted but honestly even if a coin isn’t rare we should all get excited for the new collector that found even a clash. Let’s celebrate
I can't get excited about that, I've seen so many and found so many that I would be acting fake if I said "nice coin" and didn't mean it.
It’s the only way to get new collectors excited and hooked on collecting because the odds of them finding something amazing are slim make sure they know it’s not an expensive coins but a good find. It’s like a pat on the back.
Nice advice
Great video, Dan. Thank you.
You're welcome
Hunting coins without learning FIRST is like hearing about what an appendectomy is and doing one without the education beforehand. I could recount a joke but it is too long...but the punch line is "$10 for fixing the problem, $990 for knowing where the problem is."
as always, very good info and i agree 100 %
Awesome advice.
Excellent video!!! I myself gave up scratchers for CRH!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Keep doing what you do👍
Great advice :)
Hello like to info and video 👍
Hey Dan it's Doug from Indy. I just got a really nice macros linse and I've taken a few pictures of my 2000 mass. State quarter. If I can figure out how to send a pic to u. Would u plz look at it and tell me what I think. Like if I should send it into the correct place so they can evaluate it. Thanks for your time buddy. U rock. And as always have a grate day.
Contact someone at CONECA on their website.
Thank you
Great video. Info sounds greatly simular.
I learned through trial and error. No pun I tended.
Making quick money from searching? I'm glad if I am up a buck on a box. Thanks for the video.
