I hit 40 with the same idea "wow, I was wrong about so many things!" Full Transparency - it bruised my confidence quite a bit. Still building that back

Wow, Joe is really on my level. Mavens question authority when they can see a better way/the status quo doesn't make sense, right?
Okay, so Oura ring 4-are we going there? I know I am as soon as the whoop subscription expires.

24:53 always be a/the Student. 25:06 “you figure out how to add stories to your life, is that you just always remain the Student. The moment you’re the Teacher, you stop collecting stories. As long you’re the Student, you keep adding stories. … because at 66 (years old), I am still the Student …” I think this implies some humility and willingness to risk.
This makes me think the anti-dementia protocol of taking up new movement-based learning (social/partner dancing or martial arts), begins with the mindset or mind shift (if you will) of continuously struggling to add new stories & learn new skills. Never being satisfied with who you are/were, but always striving to become better. The Japanese word Kaizen - always better - never best, comes to mind. That and a willingness to choose to become a novice in a new endeavor, rather than clinging to one’s expertise areas (which are in the past, aren’t they?).
One of the neuroscience items I heard implied this same idea. If you aren’t adding new neural connections in your brain, your brain is in the process of slowly disconnecting itself.
Thank you for a great question Andrew!!

1:05:34 I can’t sell a taco for a $1 1:05:51 “if a Taco is a $1, run! You don’t want to eat that Taco! Trust me!” 😂 or they need to be detained as a possible time traveler! “A $1 Taco, what year did you come from?”

32:59 … you don’t ever start at the beginning, you start at the end. .. you give them the right to disagree. … as a Challenger … make the argument for the other side first, so … they won’t ever move to your conclusion, if they don’t feel you understand their perspective

I find the statement, "it's not based on facts," to be one-dimensional. Much of our understanding is shaped by personal perspectives and the dominant ideologies of our time. In other words, asserting that something is “not based on facts” is, in itself, not grounded in an objective truth.
Take postmodern Christianity, which Erwin McManus alludes to. In this framework, there is no single, absolute truth regarding religious matters. Instead, interpretations of faith are heavily influenced by the personal. What someone considers "factually based" often reflects their own viewpoint rather than an objective reality. Essentially, religious beliefs are constructed through individual narratives. That is why he emphasizes alot on "communication" and the magic of frequency.
