Your videos on China's historical sites away from the mainstream touristy places are excellent and educational. They are good guides for visitors who prefer the "far from the maddening crowd" effect. I hope to follow your trails when I visit China.

Knowing quite well this city I noticed how much work you make to prepare that video. For China's history lovers Xuzhou is a great place, and not crowded. Was by Yellow River in the past.
They are great gardens around Yunlonghu and some old temple on Yunlongshan, from there, Yunlongshan observacion deck provide a superb view of the city, getting there from the entrance of the mountain in front of the Museum or using cable car in both sides (to the lake or to Pengzu garden)

I had some problems with this video actually. I lost a lot of videos for some reason...some things were corrupted?! So, quite happy I could put something together, Xuzhou really is a great place

OMG 戏马台 is next to my grandparents’ old house. I spent many summers there in my youth. There are so much history and culture in xuzhou. I love it. But at the same time, history and culture can not survive on their own. I love the new museums and refurbished historical places. But they are possible due to economic growth in recent decades ❤

Nick, thanks again. You continue to amaze with these rarely seen or heard historical sites in China. I have never heard of the terracotta soldiers from the Han dynasty. Surprisingly such archaeological discoveries exist in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, which is a distance of almost 850 km.from Xian. One can imagine that the descendants of the craftsmen who made the Qin dynasty terracotta soldiers passed along the art form.

In ancient times this town was known as Pengcheng. It had a lot of history dating from the Zhou dynasty. The Xuzhou army sculpture look like the Terracota Army in Xi'an.
