    Did you ever make a video on the UCL comp sci department? I'm applying to university for CS this year so I'd be interested to know before I put UCL as one of my options

    Were there interviews for the computer science course and what’s the acceptance rate for the BSc and MSc course?

    Can you share details about Masters in Data science at UCL ? How difficult it is to get admission in that course who comes from non cs Engineering background?

    Many thanks for this video, it will be very helpful in helping me choose between my offers. I had a really positive experience of UCL on a summer school there so it's useful to get another perspective from somebody actually studying at the university. I have a few questions if you wouldn't mind answering them:
    How/when would you go about asking for a particular personal tutor? Would I just be able to ask for a tutor with interest in a certain area of the subject e.g. AI or bioinformatics?
    Could you tell me anything about the research opportunities for undergraduates, either through university schemes, companies in London or by informally asking academic staff? All I can tell from this website is that the university schemes are cancelled this year for understandable reasons: www.ucl.ac.uk/engineering/study/undergraduate/studentships The tiniest bit of information about these opportunites would be greatly appreciated but no worries at all if you don't really know anything about them.
    And do you still plan on making any follow-up videos on things like the CS department or living in London?
    Sorry this is a fair few questions, thank you so much for your time.

      Glad you enjoyed the video and that it was useful for you !
      To answer your questions, I would ask for a personal tutor in the first week of joining if you have researched certain people beforehand and if you do not you can submit preferences of area and you will be matched. However in reality if you let UCL allocate you, its very 50:50 as to if you get a good tutor, I would do some research and talking to professors in the first week to make sure you are pointed in the right direction.
      Once you are on the course you will also have plenty of opportunities to have research based projects as well as practical projects - across all 3 or 4 years - you can also find such projects on summer internships which you can apply for. If you really want to do something with academic staff on the side, as long as you have the time and they are willing, it is technically possible to take that route as well.
      I will be doing a video on how to get internships etc in the future as well as life in London ones after this lockdown is over - otherwise might just do one like this outlining what its like.
      Good luck with whatever you pursue and feel free to ask questions if any come up on anything

    Hi would you recommend taking a Bsc in Computer Science at UCL or an Meng in Computational Mathematics? I’m in a dilemma here as I want to pursue a career in both technology and finance

    Hello Sachchit, I am in a chaos right now, because I ended up studying BSc Econ when I wanted to study Computer Science. I code by myself (still beginner tho). I am currently seriously considering MSc Computer Science conversion programs from UCL and ICL. What are your thoughts about it? By the time I graduate I will have very solid background in maths : Discrete Maths, Linear Algebra, Calculus, some Linear Programming, Introductory Econometrics, Logic, Statistics. But I am missing the programming side of the CS equation. Are there any Googlers at your work who have non-CS degree in bachelors and conversion CS MSc?
    Thanks 🙏 in advance

    What UCAS predictions would you say are required to be considered for UCL's computer science program to get an offer?

    is Math, CS, and geography a level good enough for entry to UCL bsc cs with A star UCAS predicted in all three subjects.

    Hi! I'm Korean high school student who is planning to apply at computer science, UCL such as you. Can I ask you a question?
    -what percentage of undergraduates lose(?) CS major per year?(except give up, switch to another major by their own intention,, I mean only who failed the exams or tasks even they worked)

    • @francismoon_
      @francismoon_ 4 роки тому

      Cuz the most of South Korea uni let undergraduates to graduate even they got low score on exam,,;; so I think I should be adapt at UK graduation/fail system-espacially CS(major I'm gonna apply)

      Thanks for the question, so its basically around 20-25% for the failure rate in first year (which is highest) and then generally class sizes go down by 15-25% per year

    Hey, sir if you did A level further maths why don't you teach us because there are no many who does that and we can work hard to share it. and many students really need A level further maths help.

      Hey Maranatha, I will defo get onto that after finishing up normal maths for Pure, Mech and Stats. I have been busy with work lately but now have time to finally start making a video every week.
      I'm going to put up a poll next week to see what people want the most and put priority on that !

    Can a student from India with basic knowledge of programming Go through a Master's program in Computer Science? Will it be accomodating or difficult to cope up?

    Hey, I have an offer to study at UCL. I heard it is really friendly and social school. If you are a CS student, do you have free time to join societies and also go to parties sometimes? Thanks for an answer!

    • @SachchitP
      @SachchitP  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Samuel, thanks for the question - you most certainly have time for having a social life on top of studies with the degree as long as you manage you time well ! I certainly managed and it was not too bad at all
