And regardless of what the consequences that led to the incarceration was, 20 years is a long time to be in and out of prison! 25 years is even a longer time to have not fought in a boxing match! Time, they say, is a healer, because it makes a man recover from his ailments....but time is also a thief, because it robs man of his years!!! At 51, it is almost foolhardy (for fear of being perceived as rude) to want to fight boxers in their 30's and at the peak of their boxing careers! In fact, in the time Ike Ibeabuchi was incarcerated, a generation gap, has produced physically taller and stronger boxers than the Chris Byrd's and the David Tua's of 25 and 27 years ago! Then there is also the case of issuance of a much needed boxing licence! Would the US find favour with an ex-convict??? The vast boxing experience accumulated, I believe, would be better served training a new generation of Nigerian pugilists! Emmanuel Steward, Naseeb Richardson, Freddie Roach , Ronnie Shields and Angelo Dundee who were/are all trainers , are as well known and well regarded as any boxer in the world of boxing!! Right now, the story of being undefeated in the ring, is so sweet and so strong, that it almost supersedes the "dubious" prison sentence! There is a lot of low level fighters and they are tough they want the same dream you want. Take one day at a time get your breathing right first when you train you are gasping for air. Get that or body trimmer

Evander Holyfield was almost 60. In contrast, Ike is 50 years old and in excellent physical condition. I believe he could put up a competitive fight against heavyweights such as Deontay Wilder, Dillian Whyte, or Derek Chisora. If you watch Wilder's last performance, you'll notice he backed away from Parker and seemed quite slow at the age of 38.
