I live in NJ and recall travelling on this route to NH with my husband almost fifteen years ago when he was about to propose to me. It is clean and well maintained, and offers nice scenery for an interstate highway, with a lot of trees, rocks and boulders, and a peaceful view of the Hudson River via the Beacon Newburgh Bridge. I-84 is a good alternative route for I-95, which always seems congested and in need of construction.
I love this!!! Everytime I drive across the ct river the traffic is immediately gone!, everyone disperses a good portion get on the 91 and route 2. The bridges in New York are in questionable and I get scared driving on them.

I took 84 to 90 east from NYC to Boston, 3 lanes all the way except for pa but it ends pretty quick there in pa and i90 from 84 junction is 3 lanes

Hartford... traffic central of Connecticut lol. Hartford does have the best skyline in the state though, in my opinion.
I-95 in Fairfield and New Haven Counties is quite notorious for bad traffic as well.
