I really enjoy your videos. Very steady and clear. I am American born, but all four of my grandparents emigrated to the USA in the years between 1916 and 1934. I learned Greek from my grandparents and parents and can speak it fairly well, and at the age of 66 I'm slowly trying to teach myself to read and write it. I had no formal schooling at all in Greek.
I have a few questions. I hope you can enlighten me.
If the A304 was resting (and rusting) in Amfikleia and was taken west to Bralos for preservation, how did it wind up at Lianokladi to come east again to Bralos? Was that a planned excursion as one last mainline adventure? Who is going to do the cosmetic restoration of the locomotive, train enthusiasts from all walks of life, or present and/or retired railway workers?
Is there regular passenger service over the original mountain pass between Tithoria and Lianokladi? I may be visiting Greece next year and I want to travel over this historic section. I don't like modern electric trains and I have no interest whatsoever in riding like a rat through a long, dark tunnel and missing all the beautiful scenery. What about the old mountain route from Lianokladi to Domokos?

Hi Nick! Thank you so much for your nice comments about my videos 🙂 You are welcome! The engine did the round trip (north to Lianokladi and back to Bralos) in order for her front to face the south for better view. So far there is no restoration because of the lack of funds. Even with volunteering work from train fans and local technicians is not enough. Even if this line is not characterized as an inactive one there is no service yet. I advice you before you plan a trip there to let me know. The old line from Lianokladi to Domokos is closed and deserted. I was lucky to make a (historic) cab ride before it's closed here in my channel. I am very happy to answer any questions from our friends living abroad and who knows... one day we may meet each other!
@@sidirodromeas Thank you for the additional information. Now I understand. The nearest place to turn the locomotive was at Lianokladi. What do they call that track arrangement in Greece? In the US we call it a "wye", but in Britain it's a "triangle". We would say "They turned the engine on the wye at Lianokladi" or it can be used as a verb in railroad jargon, as in, "They wyed the engine at Lianokladi". Do they call the principle members of the train crew the Guard and the Driver? In the US we say Conductor and Engineer.

There are about 3-4 currently being scrapped here in Australia. Private owner does not want them :-(

Όχι ακόμα, ίσως το καλοκαίρι. Προγραμματίζω όμως δύο αρκετά μεγάλης διάρκειας με άλλα μέσα :-)
