Such beautiful memories. I went to Scotland years ago, went into a gift store and saw mouth organs. I bought three- 2 for my god children and 1 for me. Each time my grand kids come around they want to play it. As children we used to place a piece of silver paper that comes in the cigarette box, over a comb , as a substitute for the mouth organ😮

I love hearing the references to places where I grew up. I was born in Higgin Town, went to Lime Hall Primary, and then Ferncourt for my first year (before moving to Kingston and going to Calabar). Of course, every time I go back to Jamaica, I have to visit Higgin Town for a bit

Thanks for sharing. I may be among the few Ferncourt Students alive who attended the school during Mrs Simpson's (Founder) time as Head Mistress, alongside her husband; J. J. Simpson; Retired School Inspector; populaly known as Specky. I lived in St Ann's Bay, & attended as a boarder. Mrs Simpson was an amazing person & commanded the respect of staff & students alike. My experiences were eye opening in many respects & I got to meet some interesting folks who are forever etched in my memory.

How childhood has changed since they were kids. Kids today cannot imagine themselves with no TV, phone and, of course, no Internet.
The ladies from that period dressed in such a dignified manner.
I love the dresses; and I think they were made by very talented dressmakers.

I’m from a district called Barnstaple that’s behind Brown’s Town in the hills of St Ann and there are students from there and neighbour😊district attended Ferncourt until now.. so all the high schools in St Ann served the whole parish and neighbouring parishes 💚🇯🇲🇨🇭

Is it possible to find out if Mas Bobby was married to Caroline Hanniford (Smith)? Or, how long ago did he die? I'm working on a family tree and this info would help determine if we are related.

That's before the invasion of foreign cultures in Jamaica. Nowadays Americianism has taken over ,and the result is not very positive.

The host is not listening and has a nasty way of interrupting the guests in their stride, cutting their thoughts 😮 I notice it a few times in other videos too. But, very nice programme ❤ look at his face when she mentioned mouth organ and accordion 😅😅😅
