I remember Mama used to have a wagon mattress was stuffed with coire or feathers
I remember they use to pour white lime down the pit latrine to keep down the smell
I am 4° jamaican decendant costa rican, and am proud to say that most of those coloquial terms are use frequently in the province of Limón.
Sunbeam was my bus this run from Kingston to Portland
Good memories I used to play most of those games in the seventies and eighties ❤
We made gigs with guava wood, really tough. Try splitting that Mr bad man 😅
Been there and done most, if not all of those.
The one with the stones is " Go dung a Manuel road gal and boy fe go bruck rock stone gal and boy" you sing these words while everyone sit in a circle and pass a stone from person to person as fast as you can without squeezing your fingers under the stones
This episode should be named games from Jamaica with love bring 😢tears to my eyes am a 70s child run boat flying kites there was love 💕
Merry Christmas 🇯🇲
Baby boomers ❤

Remember Dairy Farmers? The best malted milk shake ever 🥰
I stayed there in 2022..I loved the water crashing against the rocks. OMG as I typed it Kareem said it. Lol. It was a stormy night. Soooo romantic.
I made the one with the string, central wooden rod and two wheels. I also used to make the carts that had a seat. Also made the tissue paper kites with bamboo.
Baji was the name of the really big kites.
What is cheap? How much is cheap?
Awsome interview with such an amazing lady! I could listen to her all day! ❤️🇺🇸❤️
There were Sunbeam bread in Kingston and Sunbeam bus between St Mary and Kingston. Both had the colour light blue. But my favourite bread from my youth was baked by the Annotto Bay Bakery and were usually in paper bags. Would love to see a Kareems Quest feature on the famous breads and bakeries of Jamaica. Nothing like heading to Kingston and the bus stopping in the Annotto Bay square and my mother buying patty and D&G soda (in the bottle), before the bus continues on it's way.
Very interesting and informative, thanks. Shall watch your channel more ontensively
Brown girl in a ring Tra-la-la-la benefits: exercise, team work , fresh hair, follow instructions, memorization, socialization. No wonder this lady has such a good memory.
Oh my goodness I loved to make paper boats and put in the drain when it rained.😂😂
Oh my goodness I loved to make paper boats and put in the drain when it rained.😂😂
Guh dung a Manuel road gal an bwoy fi go bruck rock stone, bruck dem one by one, finga mash nu cry memba a play we a play.
Just remembering beautiful early morning rides on Sunbeam. Window seat to enjoy the breeze and the view, all the way to Kingston, through Annotto Bay (with the sea and coastline), Castleton, Red Gal Ring, Golden Spring, Constant Spring, Half-Way-Tree and Parade. Going back to St. Mary was also quite relaxing, once I have my window seat. The seat across from the driver was also good, but you run the risk of having to give it up to someone.
Ambassador runs St Elizabeth to Savalanamar

How did we come to use French words when we were Colonies by the Spanish and Britain with the past, including West African.
💛💚🖤
That's is called buy bird, buy bird in and out the window. Show me your motion challa. Riddle me this and Riddle me dat. Tag a war, Ketchy pushy, and jumping jack.
I used to make kites. Kites paper, coconut bow, mixed flour as paste. I did love two sister kites.
There was a game called ,"sea way lash'.
One car that I couldn't take on to back then was the Vauxhall. For some reason, they looked unattractive to me. The vehicle I loved (up to this day) was the Volvo station wagon.
I remember a Ford Falcon crashed through the walls of Bay Farm Villas in Olympic Gardens in the mid to late 1970s, without suffering much damage. I rated it as a tough vehicle for many years after that.
I wish I could hear the Dulcimena theme music again. Even one more time. Characters like Pressa Foot, Cyclops, Mr. Big, etc. There was a main character who spoke with a stammer.
I am an 80s baby and I played a lot of the games you mentioned. In reflection, they were games that prepared us for life! How to socialize, compete in a civil way and understand that someone will be better than you, but it's all right and that there will be something that you'll be good at. A nuff girl get impress with these games and also, nuff kiss got stolen with that 123 red-light game, after school bell ring. Hahaha. High school games involved 'draft' and 'money football' until we start playing the real football in between recess and after school. In my earlier teenage years, I discovered that I was very creative at kite making. I made them all! From the 'bone' of a coconut tree, to 2 inch wide bamboo frames, at times, 10 ft high, 6 ft wide, with a 100 ft tail for stability and zingers that was louder than any Leyland Truck. I'd set it for sail and it'll be there from evening until morning. That was the peak of my creativity as a young man growing up. All good memories though. Gwaan do the right thing boss! Excellent job.
Marble was my game and as a girl my cousin dem use to hate see me a come! Jacks came second
Marble, Jax and even an elastic game in which you'd bounce it off the wall to intersect with others and then you'll capture those that you overlap
Thank you for this history madam and sir.
Ward, Regal, Carib - I went to them all and remember them well watching Tarzan movies, even the drive in theatre on Washington Blvd in the 60's. I also lived in Vinyard town close to Globe which I believe was an open air theatre because you could always tell when a cowboy movie was playing and there was a bar fight - the whole audience would be participating in the fight making the sounds of people in the movie hitting each other. You could hear it for blocks around. Memories. Thanks for bringing them back.
Little wooden houses are BETTA than the large concrete structures. Nature loves it... 🔥💖💚💛🔥
Memories from the 60's and 70's. The Good Old Days.
Yes they were! 🥰
Hi Kareem, I really enjoyed watching your videos. They are interesting and different, and they brought back lots of memories. Lob it!

Kareem you are a darling to be bringing back my childhood memories the only sad thing about these memories that make me sad is my mom , my Dad , my GRANDMA AND all their kids and friends are all gone including some of my friends ,😢 . This is why we should cherish the our family members ,friends and neighbors we must love ❤️ live and laugh with each other because after a while we will be just memories
