I dont know if you have a guide already as i havent checked your videos yet, but off the top of my head i would love a guide to suppression room traps for a rogue. everything i found is generic, not rogue/trap specific.
There are many advantages being a dagger rogue: Without worldbuffs daggers are far better in most fights, single target and cleave (exception e.g. Thaddius or Cthun if you get unlucky). You dont have to compete with warriors for swords. Daggers is a very chill and easier playstyle (you dont have to buttonmash constantly as a dagger rogue, you dont care about swingtimers). Tbh you should only go swords if you are human.
@Redman Law 99 bruh there not even on cthun most of the time and like you said hes moving all over so there will be windows you cant backstab...... it was a fucking joke
@@ericrowe2533 Why? All u need to do is watch where the last red eye-beam of phase 1 ended, thats his front, the rest is his back...... i would say thats so ez its not even worth to mention.
The one thing I tell my rogues who say "I'm going daggers now for AQ because of the spreadsheets" is the following: "Yes the spreadsheet says daggers pulls ahead. In a perfect world where you start on the ass of the mob and you and it never move. There are not target swaps. The only thing you do is press backstab and you do not get screwed by RNJesus. The reality is you will have fights where you need to change targets which can punish your SnD uptime if you are not careful. Even a few seconds of that will have a sword rogue close the gap. If you get stuck on the wrong side of a mob you are forced to wait till you get to the back and that could cost you an energy tick or two which will eat in your lead. In the end there is a tax on every dagger rogue from the hypothesized max output. Swords have their own to a degree. Which is about 10% of what is advertised. Daggers can easily hit 20-25%. So long as you are performing well and doing your jobs I don't care what spec you are you will get gear. And just clearing AQ will put you in a different level than a lot of guilds in classic."
As a rank 14 who often switches off, my complete raid as swords and daggers is always within 5%. Vael is the only fight where it makes much difference.
the big difference here is nobody cares for r14 cause 99% of all players arent. and the fact is that u dont have great swords in mc and also not in aq40 but u have awesome daggers, and that makes a difference. bwl is the only thing where sworld could be better than daggers, but u have too many bosses where daggerspec performance is better, so even in bwl dagger > sword. i guess if u have nax clear and the game is over sworld could be better than daggers.
Subscribed! Thank you for this video. As a recent dagger rogue switching to swords for the different play style, this was very helpful. I just completed my 8pc tier 2 and also tier 0 for 0.5. Looking forward to testing it out. Cheers!
Same. As I've said before, I'm just not a sneak-up-and-stick-it-in-from-behind kinda person. And dealing with the positional requirements of daggers is a pain in the ass. Yes, daggers are by nature, well... rogue-y. But for me, swords just feel more natural.
Everyone always talking about the rogue human racial with sword skill but honestly I think going swords on horde is easier due to less competition with warriors for swords.
Everyone has their own style of play. I have dagger rogues who fight it out with me and another sword rogue for tops in BWL. For me its the smoothness of swords and how greedy I want to get. I can play it very safe and push for something like a 2/4/5 cycle. Or I can go bonkers with my tickets tea and AR and do back to back 1snd 5evis cycles for 24 seconds and watch a dead boss lay at my feet. Also with the RNG factors it makes swords fun to play where daggers i find too formulaic. IF you are going to go on as a rogue into TBC I would get used to playing a priority system because all TBC's rogues will be using them and with combat potency, you need to be flexible.
@@crestfallen821 If you roll daggers for AQ you are pretty foolish. AQ has longer kill times more positional requirements and for you to have deaths sting to actually do more dmg. I parsed the best when I was dagger specced, it was so much fun. But being back on swords its just terrible sometimes, I get superbad RNG on sinister strike crits (like around 8-12% crits on an entire fight) while daggers almost still get around 60-70% crits on backstab. Its depressing.
Daggers is better because of the high crit chance imo. BUT, the build is harder to talent for because you need imp backstab, opportunity, and lethality. This generally means you're going to give up important/quality of life talents somewhere, which can make a significant difference in your success in PvP. Therefore, hemo is the spec for ezmode gameplay. Daggers is for kings.
How well the fight plays out. For example a good firemaw execution would be a 30 second kill with 0 deaths that would be a 99% execution, a bad execution would be a 1 minute firemaw kill with 10 deaths and that would be a 45% execution.
