  • Getting my Honwave T32 IE in and out of the water using my Sunway Inflatable Boat Trailer at Ballyhalbert boat ramp. This is my first boat trailer and I have only used it a handful of times so I will hopefully get quicker with practice. I’m open to tips for improving my technique as I have taught myself how to use it.
The trailer is a Sunway Inflatable Boat Trailer (model number - SW265PN12) which I got from www.leronitrai... More details at www.sun-way.fr/...

Love that trailer! One thing that I learnt (by watching another boater) was to stop before the waterline, drop the launch wheels then lift and push the bow to get the boat off. On the retrieve I drop the wheels and pull the boat past the water line before getting the car/trailer.This saves the keel getting scrubed on the concrete by any water movement (on less than calm days), and keeps the wheels/hubs of the trailer nice and dry 😁
All the best and thanks for the video👍

Paul T all sound advice, I lost an axel on my first boat by submerging my hubs and not maintaining them! Then I discovered hub buddies that constantly force fresh grease through the bearings

I use my launch wheels all the time my trailer never goes near the water. Saves all the problems with bearings and trailer rot.

That's working great with all these rollers. My trailer has only four (big) rollers. I have to watch out that the keel is not stressed to much on the keel rollers.

That is one slick trailer, I haven’t watched the video yet to see you unload, but I’m sure I won’t be disappointed 👍🏻

You don't need to deploy the ratchet strap all the way since your boat is not heavy and the ramp is not descent too steep. Just use the blue rope came with to hold it and push it out from the trailor. Then hold the boat from the bow and put your knee on to the bow lean on to the bow and push with your other foot the boat into the sea. Then you get yourself into the boat. This way you prevent the stern touch down and the prop too. If it is wind and wavy you have to start your engine before, otherwise your paddles will take you at a safe depth before starting your engine.

Never switch your car engine off when you're on a slip just in case it doesn't start again and your up s**t creek without a paddle that's what I was told by my instructor stay safe and all the best

Nice video and setup. Why do people start the boat when they are standing beside it ? Bump the shifter by mistake and that boat is history

Really nice set-up but stop trailer short of the water deploy transom wheels and push boat off onto wheels leave winch attached if not confident
not sure how easy your wheels are to lift up while in the boat , On retrieve put transom wheels down lift engine and row onto slip leaving wheels down lift front of boat onto back of trailer and winch on that way that trailer stays out water

Loving all of these videos. We have spent a lot of time exploring in a Pioner 10 around the bay from Ballyhalbert. Do you ever fish over by Skullmartin rocks or have you been out to the Skullmartin marker boy Southeast from Ballywalter, about 2 miles offshore?

Hi there Christopher, do you know what you get away with (water depth wise) in Ballyhalbert? I was down today checking out the slip and was thinking that there might have been enough water about 4 hours on a rising tide ?
