    Very thorough review as always. After several cheap meters I picked up one of the newer Fluke 17B+ meters and so far im very pleased with it for the price, its made in china but quality seems good so far. However the worst downside is no warranty from Fluke USA so buyer be aware on the chinese Flukes in that regard.

    Thanks for the video... Looking for a new meter and this looks just right for me.. Being a Atlas Copco service engineer all I'd need would be checking power supplies and continuity and checking capacitors!

    Bro, thank you so much for this video! I'm new to multimeters and I learned a lot watching this. I'm expecting my new 107 Fluke in the mail soon. This will be my first multimeter. Thanks!

      That was my first meter as well. Got mine about 9 months ago and it has been great for all kinds of home and automotive work.

      @@McKevittS . Nice! That's exactly why I got mine! I tested a few things for fun including my car battery. Mainly, I want it for automotive use. Thanks again!

    Thanks for the info. Just ordered one of these as an entry level multimeter for an electrician apprentice. I think it’ll suffice based on the info in your video. Thanks again.

    LOL... I have a Fluke 107 in my mobile tool box and it works great, also have an Amazon Commercial 90DM600 (very rugged and IP67 rated/ usually at home), an Extech EX350 (355 without temp - great full featured), a Southwire 15190T, a Fluke 87 V, an Aneng 8009 (used as a loaner when some techs are over at our store) and a few pocket “throw abouts” Sanwa PM3, Hioki 3244-60, Zotek 921 and Aneng AN101. All of them great in their own way !!!

    12:14 "The 107 does not have True RMS."
    But what WOULD you call the voltage reading on a Fluke 107 ? I read my wall outlet and it said 125 volts. If it was not true rms shouldn't it have read 170 volts?
    Why does my Fluke 107 read 125 volts at the wall outlet instead of 120 ?

    Very nice video!!! I am getting my tools to start with Arduino, Rapsberry Pi, and that kind of Stuff, and maybe some basic home appliance or equipments at home. Do you think that Fluke 107 do the job? Many thanks!!!

    This video is pretty old and I see they have more meters out. Thoughts on the 101 for checking batteries and continuity?

      I bought the 106 a good compromise to get the 10 amp port lacking on the 101.

    I work in mining and use this meter in some pretty yucky conditions. It’s a terrific and dependable little tool for the basic troubleshooting I do.

      How is the continuity test performance?
      Is it good?
      Or is it laggy?

    107 good enough for Arduino/Raspberry Pi? Overkill? Why not "good for electronics"?

    hello thanks for the video acttually am about to buy 107 now i dropped the idea . my purpose is to measure micro amps in electronic circuit kindly suggess me which one i should buy

      Plenty of cheap generic meters around to measure microamps. Fluke shines for high voltage high energy work.

    Hi MJ I need your help choosing the perfect multimeter not exceeding 50$
    I was going to buy a digital multimeter for electronics and power electronics as
    well but for electronics mostly
    so definitely true rms is needed and also it would be better if it is an auto range one

    For safety the CAT ratings are critical. CAT 1 thru 4 tells you where you should use the particular meter. For general electronics a rating of 1 or 2 is fine.

    Can it do both "Poff" and "Loff" in the same time if you hold yellow and backlight buttons while turning the meter on?

    Very good point...I should have included the UT61E in that line up.

    I suppose I am lucky as I still have a Fluke 7-600 which most certainly is palm size and couldn't be any easier to use.

    Hi Martin! What do you think about Fluke 15B? Is it good for electronics? At the moment I have a cheap one but I want one with Auto range. Thanks. Cris

  • @Pharadoxon
    @Pharadoxon 11 років тому

    I understand what overshooting is, but why is it bad? My Uni-T UT61D does overshoot a bit.

    • @walterharrington3692
      @walterharrington3692 11 років тому

      If your multimeter had for instance a "Max Hold" option, it could potentially give you bad readings. That and it is nice to know that your meter is accurate enough to get the correct reading from the start and not have to second guess itself, I guess you could say.

    • @Pharadoxon
      @Pharadoxon 11 років тому

      Walter Harrington
      Ok thx for the answer. My Multimeter has a "Min/Max Hold" option. It seems to overshoot at some Autorangeswitches but i can avoid that when i hit the "Range" button :)

    :) It's probably a subconscious thing, noone dares speak ill of the almighty Fluke. Thou shall not speak ill of the high prices :)

    I don't think you can go wrong with fluke ,it's the meter all other meters try to compare too .
