Embroidery Garden - Create a Custom Name Keychain using My Design Center on a Brother Luminaire XP3

- Reen shows you how to create a custom name keychain using My Design Center (MDC) on a Luminaire 3. These instructions also work using IQ Designer on the Baby Lock equivalent, Solaris Vision.
Use the machine to create any custom name keychain to be stitched 'in the hoop'.
In place of a name, a built-in or brought in design could be used following the same steps.
My keychain was stitched on marine vinyl and size 20 Kamsnaps were used.

Thank you Rene for a great tutorial. I have got 2 Luminaires and have upgraded both of them to 3. I have had my machines now for 5 years and there's no regrets. Love them both. Thank you again.
Thank you Rene for such an informative tutorial on your wonderful machine, I'm sure you must love it. Although I only have the Brother Quattro 6000D, I would certainly appreciate seeing more features and tutorials on your machine. ❤
Thanks for a great tutorial. I like that it wasn't a real long video.
Thanks for teaching how to do this on the machine. Love all the lessons you are doing.
Thanks Beth!
Thank you for a wonderful tutorial! I have a Solaris, and I'm glad to see that the buttons are exactly the same so I can do this too!
Wonder information, Reen! Thank you so much!
Awesome video!! Your instructions are so clear and take the viewer through every step. Please continue to share your amazing talent❤
Thank you! Will do!
Wonderful, clear tutorial. Thank you and keep it coming.
Love your tutorials. I'm learning so much . Thank you. 😊
Thanks Yolanda! I'm glad they're helping you. I have more planned :)
Love this, Thank You Reen!
Great video - step by step!!!
Love this video. Thanks Reen.
Thank you - as always, very good!
Wonderful video and very easy step by step instructions. I just designed my own tab and I can’t wait to stitch it out.
Wonderful! I’d love to see it stitched out!
Thank you, Reen!! I have been making these for many years, but never made the tab out of a shape. I love the idea of saving the tab in the memory too. Brilliant!
Glad it was helpful!
This is great, Reen! Thank you so much!! I have a Baby Lock Solaris, and the buttons are the same. I need to find some marine vinyl to get a few of these made.
Thanks Valerie! Be sure to post a pic when you're done.
Great video Reen. Thank you so much for making this video. I look forward to making a keychain. Your directions are awesome! I love how you explained what the different icons on the machine mean. Also you took the time to let us know, that you can’t just add a .0 you have to enter a zero first then the 0.12 for a second measurement. That is so important when you are a beginner with the software. Great directions!
Thanks so much Charlene. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and would love to see your finished keychain if you make one
Great tutorial, thank you xx
Enjoyed learning new things about My Design Center. Thank you.
Great tutorial!
Thank you! Good job!!
Thank you for the video.
Best directions I’ve seen for this simple design.
Glad you like it!
Loved the project. Thanks for the step by step instructions for the very beginner.
Great video! Can I do this on my XE2?
Yes you can! Your Stellaire has My Design Center
I have a Babylock Destiny and Solaris, will either of these machines do this?
Yes, you can do it on either one. Since the Destiny is older, the prompts will be a little different. Someone in my group recently posted theirs they did on the Dream Machine which is the same as the Destiny. Your Solaris is basically the same as my Luminaire I used in the video
What size & brand of snaps are used for these. Thanks & really enjoyed the video.
There is a link in the description of the video. I use size 20 KamSnaps
I need to try these. They look fun....Not familiar with marine vinyl....is it a lot thicker vinyl than what I would use for my scan n cut? Thank you.....
Marine vinyl is not that thick. It can be cut on a SNC. You can find it in the home dec dept of Joanns. It will be on the big rolls
I have a brother SE 400 sewing/embroidery machine .how hard would it be to do on that machine
Unfortunately, you cannot design on that machine. You would need to create files in software. I have a video showing how in 2 different software programs. You could stitch out an already completed file on your machine.
