Shantotto as a character, based on her history in FF11's story and lore, has pretty much ever right to be arrogant. According to her backstory she's arguably the most powerful Tarutaru black mage in existence, and the Tarutaru in FFXI are the most powerful magicians in their world, and that's saying something. Then she's also a master tactician, during the great war she herself took a group of mages on the offensive (after being fired from the military) and produced huge victories for her side. She's also widely respected for being one of the most knowledgeable mages. So when she calls you a total loser, you pretty much are, compared to her. She's a Tarutaru with attitude and lots of spunk and she won't hesitate to incinerate you with magic bombardment if you annoy her in the slightest (which she does do in the games)
Let's see, in XI you take down the Shadow Lord, Eald'narche, Promathia, Alexander, Lilith, Hades, the Crystal Seed, Shinryu, and the Cloud of Darkness. All of whom are, frankly, more powerful than Shantotto. No, I really don't think her calling the players "total losers" is justified, certainly not compared to her.
A friendly reminder that if you tell the short-stack with the hips "No" that not only will she nuke you, she'll nuke your house and your bat-winged housekeeper, too.
even in FFXIV event , they mention that shantotto is more dangerous than empire and beast tribe combine ( which is the major problem and antagonists in FFXIV )
@@DukeOnkled Id argue she may still be stronger, but I certainly believe she wouldn’t be looking down on them. I could see her being interesting in teach the Protag honestly.
...keep in mind said 'queen the size of a Moogle' has high-grade black magic at her beck and call...don't underestimate her, or to your grave you'll fall.
I don't like it when she just speaks to them and they say nothing back. I bet Jecht really wanted to take a swing at her with his sword, Kuja wanted to blast her to bits, and Exdeath wanted to send her to the void.
Well it's partially because the cutscene rotates who's in their spot, so it'd be impractical to have everyone have lines for her and for her to have lines responding.
I love how the rhyme should have been "... a solid B plus", but she has to give a dig at the player and breaks it just to make sure they know its a B minus. XD
I was only introduced to Shantotto in dissidia, as I missed out on playng ff11, but she quickly became one of my fav FF characters. She's just so entertaining. Despite the fact she's tiny, her magic is off the scale, more powerful then any other magic user making her size in no way obstacle, if anything it benefits her not making her a larger target. Her demeanor is interesting too, because it very much straddles the lines between good and evil, she has her own agendas, she's one of the most intelligent mages, and having gathered so much knowledge it puts everyone else beneath her. This being why she can laugh at others efforts because she simply has no fear or anything to gain. Because her focus is that of knowledge, it puts things like petty disputes under her, meaning good guys and bad guys are more like curiosities for her. She probably only sides with the good guys because the bad guys want to destroy everything, interfering with her pursuits. Thats what makes her fun, your seriously want to be standing with her then against her, shes arrogant but with good reason to be so, she gets a chuckle from it.
The "Cavernous Maws" bit refers to FFXI's Wings of the Goddess (and later, Abyssea) expansions as floating giant, well, maws that enjoy sucking nearby adventurers into alternate dimensions and even times.
I’ve never ever played this game so I don’t know exactly how powerful she is but based upon countless comments here I believe you all. She is very attractive and her personality just oozes such sassiness and high standards. I LOVE HER! 🥰🥰🥰
At 1:08 I feel like "I hereby score you a solid B+" would have rhyme better. But then I remember Shantotto rarely give compliments that are actually good.
She was first referring to Chaos ("Chas"), but she then said, "or is it one of his lackeys?" Gabranth is technically on Chaos' side in the game, so... yeah. ^^;
Behold. Dr. Seuss but with even more bloodlust. As if he fused with that bird that shoves it's prey on spikes/thorns/whatever sharp object it can find and then eats it. Edit: I just remembered the name. It's called a "Shrike." Seriously, it's real. Look it up.
Shantotto: I do believe you are talking about me and forget that I can see thee. Exdeath: ! Me: ! Shantotto: Now it is time for meet death, even more tragic than the end of MacBeth. (Blast me and Exdeath) Exdeath: NOOO! WHHYYYYYYYY! Me: YOU STILL SUCK Shantotto: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I'll say this tho: out of all the tarutaru I encounter in ffxi so far, shantotto is by far the one I definitely look up to when it comes to fighting style
Ever watched Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends, My Life as a Teenage Robot, or played Final Fantasy X? It's Candi Milo, she's in many cartoons and games. :)
I dunno...Im aware of who she is and all that. But I'd still be more terrified of hearing a Judge's armor clanking coming towards me or seeing Sephiroth walking at me through flames. And I think eith of those 2(as well as Ject & Aron) would school the prof.^^
Seeing as how she can spam Flare like it's Cure and knows pratically every single spell that could ruin your day (and very few require her to put in actual effort into them) I doubt that last sentence of yours.
@SetsunaAndKonoka14 ...naaah...she'd probably just Bind the guy and burn him to ashes. While making better rhyming. And laughing. Can't forget the laughing.
No, she's referring to Gabranth, not Chaos. She might have said 'Chas' because thats who Gabranth has sided with, seemingly. But then she says "Gabri... Gabro.. Gabrand..?" and mentions he's covered in armor, so it's not Chaos, it's Gabranth.
@SlvrStryker IDK i always wanna say Shantotto is the gift of the goddess but well it didnt make sense in Crisis Core i wonder what shantotto would say if heard genesis saying those loveless poems Shantotto: >.> Ummm I dont get it
She has not fallen in battle and been around since the very first war. So her memories stay intact. The longer a warrior has been around the more memories they remain with. Falling in battle means forgetting memories. Falling to a manikin means permanent death i.e Lightning and company not being in the 13th war.
It's also because she oftentimes just goes to the Interdimensional Rift herself when she gets bored instead of being booted there by Shinryu when he gets tired of a fighter. Going to the rift effectively puts you outside of the cycle, which shields you from purification.
She lectured Exdeath, the father of long monologues. Holy Crap

Good thing she's super easy to kick around :V
Also you never really beat her in Dissidia. Whenever she loses it turns out you're just fighting a weak clone of hers. >_

She is so powerful that she quite literally jumped multiverses and ended up in XIV to start Black Magic there.
"Not too bad...for someone who could barley handle my powerful magic."
