*Part 1: The UN shocks the world by revealing Xavier's survival, sparking an anti-mutant protest at the school. Guys, this show is incredible. The Nightcrawler and Wolverine teaming up, The Summers being badasses, Wolverine slashing through the sky, Nightcrawler protecting his sister, Magneto unleashed. It's an epic moment after an epic moment, this show is amazing.
I love how Val Cooper is voiced by Catherine Disher who was the original voice of Jean Grey in the original X-Men animated series.
It's STILL hard for me to believe she portrayed Jean in the past cuz the voice she uses now as Val 👩🏼💼 has absolutely N🚫 traces of Jean in it! Maybe cuz she aged & it changed dramatically cuz she completely sounds like someone's 50-something year old teacher. I don't hear any of the youthful femininity she utilized to voice Jean 👩🏻🦰. I know Lenore's voice thinned out a bit & lost some of its weight, but it's still immediately recognizable as Rogue's voice.
This has to be THE best Marvel product out, every episode is a BANGER! Wow when the X-Men is told right it’s the best super (family) group ever.

they must only do two things... first they need to establish Hope and Scarlett, and take some shots at the Inhumans while they're at it, and then, most importantly, have Magneto absolutely destroy Ironman now that the MCU/FOX war isn't rigging the fight. Magneto must piece up Stark or I will be so disappointed.
Wow. I didn't think about that. Captain America will be on board because he will definitely say "it went too far". I can see them beefing about how many Airplanes fell out of the sky. How many hospitals went dark. How many power plants almost went crazy. Sheesh!!!

I don't think Mystique is Val cuz the Prime Sentinels would have sensed her. Also she was with Wolverine and the team at the end of the 1st episode when they defeated MasterMold. Also, I don't think Bastion expected Magneto to escape. That EMP field took him by surprise too. Best episode yet imo
Agreed about Val. I’m not too sure about Bastion getting taken by surprise. Could’ve been the event he pushed Magneto to justify OZT getting greenlit by Congress. Also, I wonder where SHIELD is?
So, for those who didn't figure out where Magneto was going after his release, he went to the North Pole. The Earth's highest magnetic field concentration is found in the North and South poles. By going there, Magneto's powers of magnetism would be amplified tremendously. Or rather, he's able to use his mutant power to tap into the Earth's magnetic field and manipulate it on a global scale. This is what essentially happens in the X-Men comic arc "Fatal Attractions" (FYI that was the comic arc where Magneto uses his amplified power to control Colossus, rip Cable in half, and tear the adamantium from Wolverine's bones damn near killing him). And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why he's an Omega Level Mutant.

I wouldn’t be mad if they dropped the mcu and decided to do everything animated for a while. Build a marvel animated universe where nobody has to be nerfed, and it doesn’t have to be kid friendly. Give us true marvel, make animated movies for the huge over the top fights and it will still do numbers in the box office. That’s all they need to do
I said that day one. Animation doesn't age like actors do. You can have any character you want and any story with no limits to stunts.

I haven't read much of the comic book series, but through the reaction of you guys I can tell this series is so amazing and important to true fans of the series. You guys were so excited at the end and I'm living through your hype vicariously. When great shows like this exist we all win regardless of how much we've read or watched!

Already one of the greatest first seasons in streaming/television history. Maybe because im old and i fall right in the sweet spot of the target audience for this show, but i don't agree. Writing, acting, animation, directing, producing all are 10/10. Honestly feel lucky to witness my X-Men like this.

I was hyped seeing Spider-Man by the end of episode 8! Christopher Daniel Barnes, who voiced Spidey in 1994, told me on Instagram that he would be up to voicing him again. I find it fascinating that so many people are convinced that Val being Mystique. I certainly don't have the answer, but I can't help but to feel that Mystique's profile was raised so much because of the 2000's movies, that people couldn't fathom she wouldn't have any involvement in this season. I don't know if this would be the narrative or suspicion prior to 2000.

Yeah, regarding Magneto declaring war… he just shut all electronics across the world: aircraft, pacemakers, nuclear plants… if you shut down a nuclear plant too quickly, it can cause a meltdown. Magneto just killed a LOT of people to stop the prime sentinels. Bastion said it was too little, too late regarding Magneto being freed. Is this part of the plan?

Val Cooper is not Mystique. She survived Genosha because she's human. All the mutants around her were killed and she was spared because she didn't have the mutant gene.

If you notice in Val’s Magneto was right speech, Val mentioned on how Magneto gets US! If she wasn’t a mutant, she would’ve used the word THEM as in those mutants.

For an Xman I'd want to be, I have to agree with you about Magneto. I don't resonate with him because I'm too forgiving. But for all of Marvel, I have to say the character I resonate with, Blue Marvel. I'm an older black man those physically strong and intelligent and hasn't quite lived up to his full potential, like Adam Brashear. But like Adam I can make friends with anyone. He's a friend of the Watcher, by the way. And for me there's no better power set in Marvel.

I'm just wondering what storm been doing and how Xavier got there before her when shes on the same planet as everyone else? Its been probably a week since she saw the news. She didn't even go to gambit funeral. maybe I'm guessing her last scene in the timeline where she saw the news was delayed.... maybe, and she saw the news a few days after the genosha assault, so maybe her time takes place at same time as the prime sentinel zero tolerance plan is happening in this episode

It would've been sweet if the producers did make Val Cooper to be Mystique all along ..because it would make sense when she helped free Magneto...it would've been a real twist! But Val is not Mystique because Wolverine would've smell her out in episode 1, after they defeated Master Mold and Val showed with a team and again in episode 2 when Val and her team showed up at Xavier's mansion to arrest Magneto, Wolverine was there. Also, the prime sentinels would've sniffed her out too.
This keeps getting better!

This series puts the entire industry on notice, risks work if you DO THE WORK to build your world before you start throwing a bunch of gimmicks at the audience. The writers earned every last one of these payoffs, they did the hard work and asked the hard questions and took the difficult route, and it's all paying off in dividends.
This is a master class.
So on episode 2, Val Cooper was at the house when they arrested Magneto. Wolverine was there. That’s when he would’ve smelled Mystique.

Val Copper is Mystique under deep cover by Magneto. They didn't know it would get this bad, which is why she was pleading with him to talk, and it cut
If she was Mystique, it doesn't make sense that she has never tried to escape by changing shape, just like Morph does. Or worse yet, that Magneto has left her at Sinister's expense. Besides, Bastion doesn't seem like a stupid villain to not realize that a mutant has been trying to trick him this whole time.
She was also really really strangely weirded out by magneto and rogue being together.
