Moon Water is the best ability in the entire game. ESPECIALLY if you get the upgrade that lets you stack more uses with each fountain. That's how I was able to carry THIRTEEN STACKS of Moon Water into the final boss fight. I took over 800 damage throughout the fight, even though I only had 150 max hp. That's how I beat Chronos on my third time fighting him.

That’s what I’ve been doing, still haven’t beaten Chronos but have gotten up to him twice
Try the summoning minion one. It gets crazy leveled up
I ended up killing chronis first try with the infinite regen duo boon and a boosted staff special

I just learned how to increase grasp 5 minutes ago. Hover over your character image when picking your arcana cards and you can upgrade it.
Thought maybe other people felt dumb not knowing that, but maybe it was just me.

8:08 Just a quick point to bring up but the helping hand is just this game's version of the speech bubble doors from 1
I feel like Hades 2 is a lot harder, becouse the Arcana seem to be a lot weaker then the fully maxes out mirror was in Hades 1 especially you can't just equip all the arcanas, In Hades 1 you could unlock 3 Death Defiences, start with I think it was like 100HP, a lot of other thigngs and most importantly get a second dash. The lack of a second dash makes doging in hades 2 orders of magnitude harder then in hades one and the lack of other upgrades makes everything way harder.
You can upgrade your arcana and upgrade the cards
Just gotta level up man. It balances out. You didn't start with the full mirror in hades 1 either
Try using casts more. Slowing time down makes it easier to dodge and preemptively clear mobs. Also prioritise max health and mana until you unlock better arcanas.
Here's a few more, pin me :D
- Yellow enemies can't be staggered BUT.. you can freeze them :)))
- Narci will/can give you defiance refresh.
- besides the bubbles, there's a boon that gives you mana/mp refresh per second.
- If you want an early defiance, give the skull boi a nectar.
- Want an op weapon? collect 15 silvers as early as you can and get the axe.
- Once you have familiars and I know a lot of you doesn't read descriptions. the Frog can block projectiles, even Hecate's Hex.
- Speaking of Hecate's hex, you can dodge that, dodge it forward when its coming to you, then just back and forth, it will disappear after some time, just be careful with her AOE attacks.
- Use your mana/mp, it refreshes every encounter, no need to save it.
- There's a way to get rid of boons but depending on RNG, and that is by trading with Nemesis.
- Hate projectiles? get the fire sprint from Hestia, you won't get hit by projectiles while sprinting (most of it)
- Artemis will sometimes help you in battle, let her snipe whatever she wants, she deals 3000 damage, don't waste your time damaging - whatever she's targeting (unless if she misses).
- Same for Nemesis, if you're running low on HP and she challenges you to "who kills the most wins", just let her kill the enemies and lose that bet, it's a free encounter at that point, go hide.
- Dash can go through projectiles, waves included, just dodge forwards. (For new ones or those who haven't realized it)
- Echo will replaced all your SPENT defiance for something similar but only recovers 50 HP.
- The bath WILL forward time, so if you're waiting for Charon's shipment or your plants, thats a good way to quickly get those.
there is also an arcana that does the same, so if ya have that active, u always have mana regen
i wouldn't say the axe is op

When he says Arcana he means Psyche, which increase Grasp, which allows you to USE Arcana.
Great game, so far found some great synergies. Best is obviously Twin Sisters Blades, pretty easy to rank it up quickly for that back stab damage, combine with 4 seconds of slow time while channeling and was easily able to kill Chronos on my 23rd run. Pretty much just need Flutter strike from Aphrodite, which you can easily get and upgrade from her charm by giving her a nectar. Then just grab any hammer that boost backstab or omega attacks, like the 400% explosion backstab that will scale from all the other multipliers, making it hit for 1k+ fairly easy, all while slowing time.
Great video, def learned a couple of things. I got to the 3rd boss without even watching the trailer as I wanted to go in completely blind ^_^
About to try the first game tonight.
If I were you I'd beat hades a few times and unlock all the systems and then move on to Hades 2. By then there will be more content for Hades 2.
Pretty much every NPC will give you a keepsake the first time you give them a nectar. At the crossroads this is; Dora, Hecate, Odysseus, Nemesis, Skellemeus, and Moros.
Each of the gods will also give you a keepsake if you give them a nectar as well.
- About half of these are ones that will make their boon "more likely to appear" (I found this often means they show up as the first boon of that run); Zeus, Poseidon, Hestia, Hephaestus, Apollo, Aphrodite, Demeter
- The other half don't abide by that and have unique boons; Hermes, Artemis, Selene all have unique keepsakes.
Once you get the incantation to get the Wretched Broker to show up at the Crossroads, he will always sell one nectar every "run". It is pretty much always worth it to grab this as it just means a new keepsake if you encounter someone you haven't gifted it too yet.
as much as I want to kill Chronos as fast as possible, I love the fact that no matter how many runs I attempt there will always be some sort of story element.

Man, the devs make Hades 2 super unfun with the HP scaling. Even if you go full damage the last stage has mobs that at a base HP of over 2k.
Hades 1 had problems with enemies being dmg sponges, especially in later stages. Kinda sucks that they didn’t fix it in Hades 2. I feel like I always have to pick the most OP weapon + the most OP boon if I want to finish the encounter in a timely manner instead of dragging it out forever cause I don’t have enough DPS.
Definitely kills a lot of the fun builds in the game because those fun builds dont pass the DPS check.
Trust the process. Melenoe has a different playstyle than zag. pick the right boons, and learn how to use different weapons. Ive beat both bosses with all the weapons (casts are really important!). im not gonna lie at first i felt that the weapons were lackluster. Especially compared to the first game where you can get the bow, and the shield pretty quick, and just run through. Knowledge is power when it comes to knowing what you need to do. Ive cleared chronos in under 30 mins (thats start to finish) and i cleared the other boss even faster first try with just the wand. Theres a reason the enemies are damage sponges, and thats because you can get to a point to where youre basically 1 shotting them. If you dont like the game play something else, but this game to me has been amazing, and its just early access. I cant wait for what they have for the future!
@@jrg14961 "there's a reason the enemis are damage sponges" not really, that's just poor design. Sure, you can "luck out" and get a god-roll on boons, but again, it's bad design to have the majority of the builds not have that ability and slog through enemies unless you get a god-roll.
I, like many others, have played Hades 1 for thousands of hours, please don't treat me like a child who doesn't understand the game, Hades 2 is just terribly boring atm and less interactive than the original.
@ShouVertica if you played hades 1 you should know that at the beginning you're weak and then when you get upgrades you get stronger? Personally I think the game is great. I've gotten through with a variety of different builds, boons, and all that. Shit I beat chronos without having legendary boons. so idk what you mean by needing a God roll?
The first game was the same way? With how enemies hp bars go up the farther you go. So I don't see how it's bad game design when people obviously love the first one so much. It's basically the same game with different bosses, and weapons
If you don't like it maybe try something else?
Here's one of favorite things to do so far.
1. Sister sickles aspect of melinoe so you start off with backstab damage, but you don't need the aspect the base sickles are fine
2. Aphros keepsake so you can get flutter strike
3. Daedalus hammer upgrade explosive ambush (gives you 400% backstab damage)
4. Whatever you want
You can literally get those first 3 things to happen everytime because there's always at least 3 hammers before you reach the end. With just those you're going to be hitting for thousands of damage and that doesn't include all the different cast/ special lboons that can provide even more damage. the only person who's boons are weak imo are Artemis boons.

Hades 1 has better melee and range combat.
Hades 1 TTK is roughly 50% less than Hades 2, Hades 2 gives you armored enemies very early on in runs along with a bunch of enemies you have to kite because MOST of the weapons are awful starting out, even with boon selections, we are talking 15, 20 damage a hit.
You can spend resource ofc, but then the whole game revolves around charging, dodging, charging, dodging and really, the pace of Hades 2 is just so boring. It's so tedious.
Hades 2 feels like playing base bow with no upgrades and selecting "enemies have more HP/Armor" on the modifiers.
It's just so slow and it's clear, VERY clear that the devs just want you to focus on range, focus on kiting (hey, your cast is now an aoe slow, wooooo....how boring).
They took a fast-paced and fun roguelike and essentially watered it down.
It's like Hades except the story isn't as interesting, the characters aren't as well written, the environments offer nothing new, and the weapons are way less fun.
I don't know what game you've been playing but it's not Hades 2
You gotta be trolling…. the environments are literally different? Like we actually gather resources now… there’s more than just fishing… the meadows is more open world feeling… like I don’t know how much new you want from it?
The story is great. Characters are new and pulled from different areas of mythology. There are a couple return characters but like different, it’s fresh.
There is more to build off of and do rather than run and repeat. More to keep track of. The first Hades will always hold a spot in my heart but the second one has blown me away with the differences and newness.
You're free to not like the new characters, but you've got to be kidding if you think the story is worse. New weapons are also better - The torches are maybe the weakest of them, but then again, the gun from the first game was shit, the shield was meh, and the bow was love it or hate it, with sword lance or gloves being the best.
But then you said that the environment offers nothing new... First game environments was literally don't stand in lava/poison and don't get hit by projectiles. If you think all of the above + gathering + an open area + AN ALTERNATE PATH are worse in terms of environments... L take 😉
Only thing I wish I knew is to refund it as soon as possible.

@@chrisraymond4804 why would that matter? shes the godess of the hearth, so shes always near fire etc so shes gets soot etc on her body all the time. and soot is black
it would explain why her entire body isnt the same colour. ie the lighter part on her face etc
