    See Harley-Davidson Pan America Special Full Review: • Harley-Davidson Pan Am...
    A 1250 V2 from Harley-Davidson in a body of an adventure bike - Pan America. There are two versions that don't differ much at a first glance but once you investigate (which Harley is not making easy for us), it turns out that there's a lot going on and some differences are hidden. Missing out on them may turn out painful and... maybe even worse. Is it worth saving and choosing the base version? Watch the video to see what Harley removed from Pan America Special offering it to us as Pan America's standard variant.

    It’s a decent first try. I’m glad HD tried this. It will only get better. Not my cup of tea currently. But maybe next gen.

      I also think so - for their first try, it's quite impressive. They've brought new technology and solutions to the segment and the whole industry in fact, and that's great for all of us.

    No valve maintenance and a 2yr unlimited mileage warranty is two of many that sold me on it.

    Been riding my standard PA since March 22, 14000km without issues. My 40yr experience in riding includes about 30 bikes of various makes. The PA for me is among the best. I will keep it. Buying a vehicle is a mostly emotional decision. In all the years none of my bikes was really bad. You will find weaknesses in any Motorcycle.

      I also believe that vehicle choices are almost entirely emotional. There are indeed weak spots in any single one too, so it's a matter of choosing where we can sacrifice what in order to get the most where we care the most.

    In my area (SF Bay Area) I've never seen anything but the specials. The only real options being spokes wheels and adjustable ride height but even lately (last 6 months or so) they all seem to be specials with the spokes and ARH.

    • @VToldsMotoShow
      @VToldsMotoShow  Рік тому

      I'm not surprised as the adaptive ride height is a feature for which one may want to get Pan America. And the price difference is not very significant while the Special comes with some extras, so from value for money perspective, it likely makes more sense anyway.

    Engine looks awesome & has pretty high HP & torque, but thats where it ends for me.
    As always, another quality video. Thank you!

    as always very nice presentation mate of the two bikes.I think it's a nice bike but only for the road not for adventure situations I think the Gs and Ktm are much better bikes.I thought when I saw it that the v strom 1050 it's a much better value bike for the money compared to the Harley which is much more expensive and doesn't provide the basics like the Suzuki. Whenever you can show us Aprilia 660 Tuareg vs Tenere 700. I think it would be a nice comparison. I'm waiting for your new videos, stay well

      I actually also agree that this shouldn't go anywhere off-road due to being hard to control and feeling pretty heavy. Harley fans don't agree but in fact we may take and manage anything on a gravel road but enjoying it and wanting more is a whole different story. Not about the Harley I believe though. V-Strom 1050 is a tricky one nowadays. About Tuareg and Tenere, I feel that it would require taking them off-road and I'm not sure I'd still want to do that with dealers' bikes. I'm a bit confused about how they're really used by riders around the world as they seem like not very much pavement-oriented.

    The whale shark looking front-end is not attractive. Then there are other major technical execution fails like mounting side stand on engine housing and in a very weird position. Us shorter riders like to get on off tall bikes while on side-stand. What happens if engine housuing cracks due to stress. Then Harley's insistence on 60 deg, V-twin instead of 90 to preserve their heritage. We all know 90 deg V-twins are inherently smoother engines but we certainly can't have any of that.

      @VToldsMotoShow  Рік тому +1

      I've too heard about the side stand being strangely installed. I guess that the future will tell whether it will cause issues or not.

    • @39impala
      @39impala Рік тому

      technically it is a 90 degree because the crankshaft has split pins to 30 degrees.

    The special will suicide, engine broke down at 800 miles and the kickstand is so bad, the bike dropped itself and scratched up because of it.

    I owned a PAS 21. Put 16.000km on it in 10 months and finally traded it in for a 22 GS. A bike should start without feeling you play the lottery each time you flick the switch. Basic, simple!
    Went 16 times back to the shop for a list off issues as long as my arm. All that time not a peep from HD. I simply want to ride not be a lab rat😡

    • @VToldsMotoShow
      @VToldsMotoShow  Рік тому

      Yeah, sometimes it's time to experiment with stuff but sometimes you want it to just work fine with no surprises and I get that. If you're happy with a GS, then it's all back to being cool.

      Keep up the good work by the way👍. I've watched your video's on the GS numerous times before making my mind up. Thx😀. And for you're info, I still got my Road King Special in the garage next to my wife's 2 Sportsters😊

    Worst bike i have ever ridden. It's almost comically bad 😂

    • @VToldsMotoShow
      @VToldsMotoShow  Рік тому

      Haha, this is NOT what I was expecting to see! I liked its comfort and engine a lot, so what about the rest? ;)

    • @Art-kz6zf
      @Art-kz6zf Рік тому

      Oh, what could i say. The seat was comfortable and the engine wasn't bad either. Those were the good things. But the handling... steering is like riding a drunken giraffe 😂 The blinkers were driving me absolutely mad, don't know was there something wrong in my machine, but there didn't seem to be any response from the controls...
      Anyways, not my bike. Multi V4S stole my heart... 🙃

    • @VToldsMotoShow
      @VToldsMotoShow  Рік тому

      So I get you as the steering gave me a very similar feeling. Actually I like the way you've put it now ;). Blinkers were an issue here for me too, so yeah, I guess I was just impressed by the engine and soft seat more and that stayed in my mind. Thanks a lot for that additional info - it's always interesting for me to learn the feedback on these. V4S can be quite a beast.

    The only thing special about any Harley is the price, it's an overpriced piece of crap bike, compared it's the worst deal going on bikes. Indian is going to bury them
