This is really coming together, I think you're onto something great. I would just suggest making the beginning of the first level pick up faster, so that you can get into the action sooner. Since enemies can be behind you, perhaps a rear view (or just the ability to move the camera around) would be good? The UI could also be improved to be smaller while still showing information in an easy to read format, so as to not clutter the screen.
The beginning of the first area is intentionally left empty to allow a new player to adjust to the controls before being sent against bullets. This is also where a controls tutorial plays. As for the spawners in GPS levels being off screen, I have plans on how to deal with it, don’t worry.
