- It has been a week since Hot Toys STUNNED us with their Artisan Joker announcement. Who is lying? What does it mean? What does InART have to say? The dust has settled a bit, so let's talk about it and hear FROM InART themselves!
If you haven't already, check me out with these these figures and more on ALL my socials:

Thanks for the shout out Keco! 😊 When you said my username I did a double take because I keep forgetting my username is thefilmhost lol. Fun fact: I once tried to start a UA-cam channel like a decade ago called The Film Host (covering film and dvd new releases) but I couldn’t keep up with it so the channel died off before it could start. Now I just use this as my personal UA-cam account. Anyway, looking forward to the next video!
I wish I would have included the clip! Thanks for sharing
Hey thanks for the shoutout bro, I should’ve said something more elaborate 😂
At this point, I truly think John is telling the truth. They don’t have any reason to lie. Of course hindsight is 20:20, but I’m not sure if they were still able to walk away from this 100% clean.
If I were someone who spent almost 2k on a set of figures of the same character, although very good figures and very iconic representations of that character, I’d still be pissed to know I can’t even cancel my NRD and go with the one figure because you’d be losing out on a couple hundred dollars.
Now I personally am not affected by this, but I think I would be leery to trust PO’ing another figure from InArt if it were if a character Hot Toys could potentially do.
I think most people would rather have the one figure as opposed to having the 2 or 4 pack for such a substantial up charge, even if InArts figures look better. Unless of course this is their favorite film/version of Joker. This is good for those that didn’t get the InArt figures, bad for those who did and can’t really cancel.
Great response , and I loved the last one too lol
Killing it Keco! I think it's essential toy influencers act as the vessel to get the publics opinion on these things directly to the companies. And consumers should always fight for better value! It shows a lot of care for the consumer from InArt's part to show face and answer those hard questions. Now I personally expect Hot Toys to be held at the same standard. Like not cheaping out on crotch grabbers with flight stand only figures for example. Hopefully this will start turning leaves over in terms of value in the sixth scale community.
I can't stand the flight stand stuff lol
I don’t think we will ever know. NDAs, MSAs, etc. Maybe 15 years from now if Netflix does a 1/6 scale tell-all docuseries 😂
I'd watch lol
This week on #KecosConvictions!! 😂 Honestly, this makes alot of sense. It also explains why Hot Toys never capitalized on the figure when this film first released. You're the voice of the people, my friend! Dont ever change.
🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
The audio only being on the left side messed with me so much I was thinking one of my speakers died lol
It's my mic... my latest video and all moving forward will be exported in mono lol. Sorry !
@@KeCoCollects No worries! I noticed it was fixed on the latest vid
KeCo, as always... great informative video! This is interesting stuff I must say.... and nobody else is giving us the low down so kudos to you buddy!
Thanks for watching - hope people enjoyed it
Love the content always man. Great stuff
I appreciate you and your support!
Licences are so complex and forever changing. Let alone more popular companies do get easier times acquiring them for obvious reasons. Inart are telling the truth for me. I feel for those who only wanted one red suit joker (get it). For me, I am getting four figures and it's not like I am paying 1k for one figure. I knew that chances are I will be selling two of them at least. That by selling it, it will bring the overall price down. Good work with asking that question, we all deserved to know. Thank you!
Things are complicated, for sure. And as you said, you aren't getting junk - those who get the 4 will be happy in the end
Like I already wrote on Will’s stream - It’s very nice that Will gave the opportunity for John to appear and clear the air ,kudos to KeCo for the questions . That cleared it out enough imo .
What remained unclear and unanswered and too vague ,despite you asking him again was about the shipping of the supposedly “ released “ figures .
I couldn’t understand from what John said ,why can’t they ship out one figure fully ,before they start shipping the next and the one after ,that’s just splitting resources .
And what my question I’d hope to ever hear clearly answered by InArt is - what are the expected release times to the “ released “ figures . First example - Aragorn was released more than a month ago , how much time ( until which month and year ) will be shipped out the final batch . I don’t want deflection with “ we ship in China but redistribution by resellers takes longer “ no, because at month 4 since release Batman as shipped by InArt is stated at 10% , Aragorn past one month since “ release “ is shipped at 1% , AND for those two figures production time from PO to the supposed “ release “ has been a year and a half ,so why aren’t they fully produced yet ?
Meanwhile Harry Potter at half a month is at 15% , ok smaller PO and so on ,but why are the resources not put to work on the distribution of the figures we have been waiting for year and a half to two years to start shipping ?
I want answers ,no excuses with resellers , I wanna know how long is the shipping period in China and in AU/NZ ( if I’m not mistaking Aragorn is licensed there as well ) . So how long from the beginning to the final batch fully releasing . They are the only company that refuses to give estimates on that .
I'll mark this down - but to answer the first question, it's down to team management and abilities. The rooting team can't help with distribution if that makes sense ... but I agree, more clarity would be great. BUT, apparently it's going to get better and not be an issue moving forward. We will see!
@@KeCoCollects thanks 🙏
Yeah I got that about the teams ,but I felt like it was an excuse ,because clearly rooted Batman , rooted Bruce , rooted Aragorn and rooted Potter need rooting at the same time ,and they have not finished production when they “ release “ ,which is the main reason distribution takes so much time .
So ,why split the rooting team to work on 3-4 released figures instead finish the first one then move to the next ?
And definitely would like them to start giving frames “ release estimate from …. To ….” ,would be better than the promises to “ ramp up production “ they’ve been giving since Gandalf ,that took them 8 months to fully ship out within China .
I'd be very excited to see an interview with John here. He said on that stream their production speed is now up, so I hope we can actually see that in the next month. It's easy to see now that the licensing for Joker has changed, with how you mentioned all the other toy companies are making stuff now. They were simply just too early in making it.
Pretty much 👆🏼
Question from me (2 actually), when will next Aragorn batches go out. And will the 1/12 scale line that was launched eventually also be made into 1/6? The Arkham Origins Batman normal suit is one I have wanted for a long time and InArt now has shown a 1/12 of it. Would love a 1/6 as it's my favorite batsuit.
Great questions
Appreciate the shout out showing off my comment in the last video!
Appreciate you sharing!!
Inart has been quite silent in social media towards their upcoming releases or plans. My question still remains for Reeves Superman, if they will show an updated prototype to future events this year. Still waiting for my Batman as well. Great video Keko! 🙏
All add the Supes to the list!
My question for Inart is for the license for TWD because previously said they can’t do it because threezero had the license so something changed maybe they lost it so, since starace seems to not make any more The Boys figs so does that raise the chance for that license? Sorry for being long and complicated
Great question!
so retro like they will, inart ? so we still pay and they get to keep a bigger percentage essentially ?
or we getting the discount ?
I know we won't get a refund, but I see what you are saying.
Love your content as always! ❤
I'm glad you got your own interview with INART. Others always cover the same points with the same empty answers, or worse, they ask if XYZ fig is going to be made. My question is about QC. INART figs are quite expensive, even more so if you pay the aftermarket price like I did for my Gandalf. What are they actively doing to avoid QC issues in the future? It’s the worst feeling, paying over €600 for a figure and ending up with hands that don't stay on because the pegs don't hold. Can I feel confident that my Aragorn and Paul figures will meet the quality I’m paying for?
Great question. I'm hoping we get something scheduled soon
Hey Keco, I hope you ask them about quality control issues. Just Received my Aragon and none of the additional hands it comes with can be attached using the pegs.... So yes I am a bit upset
I'm hearing this more and more sadly
If you do manage to interview Johnny I’d appreciate if you can ask him this for me: how well did the Henry Cavill Superman sell and how deep will the BvS line go? Besides Batman, can we still expect Wonder Woman (hopefully with a seamless body), and others from the film like Lex Luthor or Aquaman?
Marking it down 👍🏻
@@KeCoCollects Second this question, would love a great Aquaman as the hot toys have sucked in terms of headsculpts :D
A Joker that doesn't laugh
Hot toys will surely make one smiling... the one we all want the most
After selling this one
A smiling sculpt makes sense!
I have two questions if that’s cool! 1 : will they make catwoman ( Zoe kravitz ) from the Batman? Any info why they didn’t.
2: will they offer the joker individually to buy now that contract has changed? Example if i want to buy just joker bathroom dancing version?
Thanks Keco!
I'll add em!
@@KeCoCollects thank you!
Very nice videos, no BS and straight to the point! Can you ask him if they will make easier for people in North America to get their figures like with an official distributor ?
Thanks a lot !
Global license is a great topic. I would love to hear more about it
Remember, something is ONLY as much as someone is willing to pay for it.
Absolutely true
Like always awesome work!!
I got interesting question for inart :
If the rooted version takes longer to produce why aren't the sculpted batches being produced faster then rooted.
I mean batches release speed- now we have to wait just as long for the next sculpted batch as for the rooted batch)
We keep hearing about the fact that rooted hair takes so long. but why is it the same for the sculpted version?
thank you :)
btw. im really hyped for this TWD line :)
Great question! I'll add it
Question to ask: will inart stick with 4 pack and previous package or will they plan something to tackle the single joker?
It may have already been answered, but the word is that there will be no single pack offerings. Which I understand , because everyone would just cancel
My only complaint is that Inart doesn't have the North America license for most of their figures. I don't like using retailers outside the U.S. and if they could get the license then I would feel more comfortable ordering their products.
I'm with you on that. Extremely disappointing
The best part of this video was Johnny "letting us know" that Will is their paid spokesperson lol.... best way to quiet the trolls.
Had to add that lol
I foresee a lot of people canceling their Inart/HotToys preorders after watching the new Joker 2 movie this weekend 👀
lol. Imma keep it like the sequel trilogy... just imagine it never happened
@@KeCoCollects facts 💯🤫
Whats the point of selling bundles in the first place? Why not just hold off until the price comes down to something reasonable. I had to skip on inart joker because i couldnt afford it and will now be getting the hot toys one.
That makes sense. But there was no indication that the license was going to drop, but at least it seems like you will come out with what you wanted!
I have a few question for Inart... why they keep buying more licences, putting a lot of figures to wait when they already have three powerfull and almost never ending licences wich are: Lord of the rings, Harry Potter and Game of throns? Because that makes me think lwe are going to have one Lord in our hands every two years in, wich means that if we are going to have the full felloship of the ring, we need to wait to get them all another 14 years as a minumum? So, we are talking about year 2038...sounds like a joke, but it isn't. I don't know if I am going to be alive by then. :(
I know the fellowship is highly desired - great point!
Sounds like WB got lenient with their license
Perhaps!
Glad you two can be friends again, to be fair you did jump to conclusions in your last vid but I totally understand why people are upset anyway lol! Speaking of upset can you ask John why they decided to use pleather for Gandalf and if they'll use it for Aragorn too? I bought these two figs on the understanding that they'd be premium and would last lol. Nobody on earth likes pleather and it's not even necessary!
Is it pleather?? I didn't know that
@@KeCoCollects I know dude I was so disappointed lol. Support staff were kind enough to confirm by email, the belts and boots for Gandalf and Aragorn apparently lol.
I think what could've happened is that WB made inart make it $1k at least since it's a smaller company and they wanted to ensure they get a goos cut since they don't know how well it'll sell since they're smaller. And hot toys didn't have the same deal since they're much more popular and reputable....... or inart lying😂
According to what Johnny said, this is very likely. Hot Toys has a ton of leverage
Hey Keco, can you ask Johnny when are we going see their Inart Frodo and Sam protypes from Lord of the Rings?
I'll add it to the list! Dean kind of asked this on the stream with Will
You can hear Will gagging lol . Nah fr when he popped up I was hoping you’d ask some questions and grill his ass and you did not disappoint keeks !
More to come! 👀
@@KeCoCollects keep doing your thing cuddie
Hey Keco, can you ask Inart if they ever plan to do The Predator (1987) Line, Hot toys has never really nailed the Jungle Hunter in size and accuracy. Will they plan to develop a seamless body for characters like Bane? And if they have any plans to produce more Dune figures? 🙏🏻
You bet 👍🏻
@@KeCoCollects you are awesome!!!
I collect both Inart and Hot toys, i started off with Hot toys over 10 years ago but ive bought into other company's like Hot toys in the past like Blitzway so Inart ect are nothing new to me.
Extreme competition brings out extreme innovation, the more companys in the picture the better if you ask me.
As long as everyone improves, I'm all for it!
Hey man I love your collection aesthetic, I have to ask , where are this display cases from ?
Custom built from garage racks 👍🏻
OH MY GOD MY BOY JOHNNY
There he is!
I wouldn’t let them off the hook that easy.. It’s one of two things, they either decided to take advantage of the consumer by trying to be the first to the market leading people to believe this was the “only” choice they had or made a terrible business decision and should have waited for the price drop like Hot Toys did to appeal to a much larger market at a way more affordable price instead a just adding filler figures to make it feel justified
Fair observations!
Hot toys are so expensive it’s annoying cause I want to get my hands on one
I get that !
If they knew the price would go down. Why wouldn’t they wait and sell it at the lower price
I'm not sure where the timeline all works in to this honestly. Great question
Can you ask if Inart will actually end up trying to put out a single version for the Joaquin Phoenix Joker?
Johnny confirmed in other another stream last week that they were not doing a single - maybe for Joker 2 though
I wish they could of just done the red suit for 500
That would have been the best option
The only reason theres a higher pricepoint is because their license fees are very high. Any other explaination is a lie.
Hot toys can do what theyre doing because they have close relationships and deals with IP's.
IMO, Johnny is the Modern Day Snake Oil Salesman.
Not sure how 4 figures 1k is actually a great deal. That’s like going to the supermarket and finding your favorite energy drink at 2 for $5 and the regular price is $2.50 Ea. I love the competition but like Keco said that 1st Joker was super disappointing and definitely not worth the wait. Personally I will wait for the next competitor to come to the table, for now Hot Toys 🧸 is still the undisputed champion!
I truly think Johnny is a good dude, and unfortunately has to navigate the bad PR best he can. But like you said, after seeing the first artisan sculpt officially, they are king for a while longer
Speculation can be dangerous, but only if it reaches the wrong people
Wise words for sure ☝️
Makes me think WB allowed license before the 2nd movie maybe because it sucks and they trying to get all companies to pump out massive products 🎉😂
I sure hope not! But that's a great theory lol
So if they knew that the price was going to go down, why wouldn’t they wait as a company if it did not benefit them to make four figures ?
From what i understand, they were well into production when the amendment was given, but like you mentioned, I'd like to know some better timelines
Considering they got shocked by HT’s announcement of the same Joker. They clearly had no means to know .
@@Ka_T_ya They could’ve been well into production, but why not make that information public to the community once you find that out and give the community the option to say, you want us to wait until we can lower the price because of the contract, or would you like us to continue with production at this price? Or they could’ve said we would make the four pack now and in six to seven months we would be able to sell the main joker for a lower price. That would’ve been a better way to approach it. In Art are praised for their open communication with their customers. Why not make that information public to your customers ? Why wait for Hot Toys to make the same figure then speak about that information. Now people that bought the four pack from In Art and only wanted the main figure have the right to be upset. I did not buy it, but those are valid questions! I also love In Art and what they make. Just felt like those should be asked.
@@hussainrashaan1772 InArt are open only on theory , so far they have been vague at best , mostly deflecting any real questions .
I just think they didn’t expect that scenario of HT to happen , that’s why they didn’t do anything . But also considering how bad they are with logistics , what you think sounds like an easy solution is probably a logistics nightmare for them .
🙏
Thanks for watching :)
I'm sorry but who in their right mind makes a contract for X amount and then further down the line the amount is going to be less for competitors? Does not make sense. I'm sorry but John just went around the question said a lot but said nothing much. Joker 1 and Joker 2 we are splitting hairs here. So they had a contract for Joker 1 but did not secure a license for Joker 2? You don't secure a license for a character?
Licenses are so odd. I think it's a film by film for a lot of companies ... like hot toys announced they have the episode 1 license; not just Star Wars
I'm only interested in LotR figures from InArt so this whole drama in not very relevant to me. Still, good video!
I appreciate you watching regardless!
So if inart was caring of the situation and after a certain date the price dropped than why not drop the price for those that purchased the product. That's not going to happen. Always excuses. With this situation to the 3day order window for joker. I like what they make but that's about all I like when it comes to inart, too much shenanigans going on to get our money
Not sure how the timelines and upfront money work, but you make a compelling point
I'm so glad I have no interest in any Joker figures, especially this version (just like I have no interest in the movies). Saving me some money.
Always good to come out ahead!
Keco what do you do for work brotha. You must be loaded lol
Marketing and FAR from it lol
Bro, you had me fooled with the video topic that THIS was the 1 on 1 interview with Johnny and not the stream from last week. You click bait sum… 🙃
Good video nonetheless. Looking forward to the REAL interview. Any time frame on that?
Probably before my Batman ships... if that helps lol
@@KeCoCollects Okay bet. So sometime in 2025. Got it. 🤣 I don’t have any questions about Inart that hasn’t already been asked. They have their issues. But at least those guys woke Hot Toys up to compete on a higher high send level with the Artisan line. Imagine if Inart never was. Would Artisan ever exist? I’d be willing to say no way. They needed a competitor and even though we give Inart a lot of shit (and most of it deserved) we need them to be successful in the hobby to keep Hot Toys on their toes. And plus you don’t really want one company running anything without competition.
First comment. Number one fan of video for day.
Hello! 👋🏼
Must be nice to pull in all those fat stacks to spin those podcasts... 🙄😜😜
It would be nice! I make zero dollars from them
Wait, wait, wait....it doesn't just rain $$$ on content creators? Mind blown.
@@sephiroth81 not this creator lol
Got the ultimate represention of PURE ANARCHY with the Artisian Imposter JOKER 🎉 may not have been in the movie, don’t care, IMO the best Joker.
