@Nili_AoE - Age of Empires Na Nili, I want to not watch live and go onto a site for sharing up to date announcements but not see any announcements about your amazing tournament. Then I want to have my cake and eat it, please. 😅
I entered into a deep depression back in early 2019. There was the time I discovered this community of a game I played so many hours while I was young and loved so much - it was always my favorite game, and I always thought it had so much potential to be greater. Since then until now, when I'm finally seeing light in the end of this dark tunnel, this community has helped me immensely. Through the pandemic, through dark nights of loneliness, through many difficult and tiring times, I could always go back to this community to feel joy and smile. I'm so thankful for that. So thankful for the passion of all people involved here. It's truly a special community, unlike any other I've ever seen. Know, all of you, that for 20 years since now this community will only grow bigger and stronger. Cheers from Brazil.
Same here; what makes you happy when you are kid, makes you happier when you grow up. Finding thiş community felt like daddy gives me enough money to buy the biggest icecream in the market when i was 8.
After game 2, Lord Daut appeared to Viper in a vision and said "You don't need to believe in yourself, you don't even need to believe in me, you just need to believe in the me that believes that you can accomplish anything, now go forth my son"
d00d, I'm having a hard time pulling for Viper these days as a clear #1 seed in every tourney and a personal underdog preference, and def wanted to see Villese make finals, but that brought a genuine smile to my face
What a beautiful and brilliant 4-3 series again! Villese was good, but Viper managed to clinch it back! Given his condition, he played very good. Was cheering for Viper all the way through, and I was scared for him when he was down 0-2 and then 1-3. Loved how Debbie congratulated him at 2:26:52. GG wp!
The APM of the production crew! Great line, Dash. You have a poetry. The caster lineups have been really good. The mixes of strategy and temperament and voices, with the players too. AOE2 master classes.
About the wheelbarrow timing, SOTL has a video on it. It becomes efficient around 16 farmers. (Hand cart is a research as soon as you can spare the resources tech)
I went to bed at 3-2 because I thought it was over. Also like saving one or two games for the morning with my coffee (thought it was going to be one more game, for Villese). A great comeback but I feel that Villese let the pressure get to him. He had a much better draft. Liereyy and Hera - everything points to 5-1/2s in their favour today.
@@NiliAoE2 haha well, I had a very pleasant surprise this morning! I saw only one hour left on the stream (I'm watching vods) so thought it was over. Amazing tournament - see you in a few hours!
Concerning the balance of letting missionaries pick up relics: How about when a missionary picks up a relic, they slow down to the same speed as monk with relic?
Yeah. If your going to historically accurate, in so many - most AOE2? - civs, the monks/Amims/shamans/spiritual leaders traveled by horse/llama/camel/etc. And rarely past the institutionalized (Castle Age?) version would you see them wandering alone, without their political protectors or their armies, unless desperate - except to perhaps opportunistically find a willing or susceptible villager. They were part of the protected political structure. The mezo civ high priests rarely left their castle+temple type buildings. Conversions came in MUCH quicker when the philosophy on offer came backed up by a sword or other military unit. Ask Chaucer: monks alone were ridiculed. Converting fully-indoctrinated military units would be harder. Perhaps for any elite expensive non-trash unit, it should be harder. Perhaps gold composition units resist the temptation of converting, and proximity to stored relics makes the conversion easier. Easier con with props. And the villagers and military were harder to convert when the numbers of their fellow surrounding cultists were high. Heavier repercussions on their remaining family and extended family with many witnesses. Particularly if a soldier abandons the fight in a critical moment, that would immediately make their family lose HP, resources, or life. Questions for medieval historian Jon Snow?
Amazing tournament! A word about Jordan’s delightful malapropisms: Jordan clearly has a better vocabulary in German than any of the casters have in English. He is reaching for three, four and five syllable English words. Ask him his high school verbal scores. Dash mispronounces the noun “contest” with the accent on the second syllable. That is the verb you are pronouncing, Dash. And T90 you have been mispronouncing “versus” for years. You always say “verse” - that is a synonym for poetry not the Latin “versus”. Love you guys. Keep it up! Especially Jordan - you just go! You, learning English to complete your brilliant thoughts, is a true joy. In the long run your vocabulary and precision might just exceed all of the other AOE2 casters! Oh and to spice up your presentation (outclass your critics), please use some of the German words that reign supreme as the greatest psychological words of all time. Schadenfreude, woltenschaung, and farfegnutten. (Spelling by an illiterate English speaker- but please enjoy my German malapropisms as I do yours!)
In the Arena-Game, if he didn't get Bow-Saw, he'd have 3 more vils. He accumulated 2:39 mins of idle time. Bow saw would've been that 3rd tc earlier and half a farm. But yeah, also that stone camp is very annoying.
How are yall so surprised this "comeback" is what viper does, by design. He plays his weaker matchups and maps early, while warming up and tries to steal wins early. Then when he is fully warmed up he has the easier matchups and crushes. Same thing when he takes losses early on in a tournament, he doesn't want to reveal his best ideas early on because it would be a waste.
*Spoiler* Why did villese give up so easily at the last game man. Must be demoralising hearing the entire apartment probably cheering for viper but you still gotta back yourself. Props to viper for pulling it back tho
I feel so bad for both of them. Viper for the obvious health concerns and Villese having to play the guy who everyone is feeling bad for and cheering on. As for calling it so early, I don't know. He did the same thing against Jordan in the first match of their set, so I don't think it was just him losing his nerves. I just really hope Jordan was there to cheer Villese up after the game.
@@DeVulusAQ it definitely got to villese's head once viper started the comeback. Of course viper will be cheered on, and I think Villese started to doubt himself. It's win or go home, even if you still get beat atleast try a bit longer, show some heart and grit you know? I hope this is a learning experience for Villese. He has to be more ruthless if he is to win an s tier tourney.
@@akhilxy2822 you never know. Accm in his set in game 4 vs Yo was way behind but he never gave up and eventually won in two hours. Yeah villese would probably still lose or get even destroyed but atleast try, it's win or go home. You never know. He didn't even use his knights. I don't think viper was in top form, all the pressure once it became 3-3 went into villese's head
That moment when Nili quotes your last comment. Just made my day. 🤍 This community and this event are too tier. Every game players are bringing their best. And you can tell Nili really put together something special with this one. NAC 4 is. 👌
People are here to see TheViper....look at number of views of the matches that TheViper participated in versus the matches of other players (all due respect to other players).....keeping TheViper's name ambiguous is counter productive
Nice touch not having spoilers for previous rounds in thumbnail and title
Yeah, it was nice to (not) see! Such a considerate casting from Nili.
