TITAN-XIII : Sprawling-type Quadruped Robot
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 лют 2017
- Suzumori Endo Lab, Tokyo Tech has developed sprawling-type quadruped robot driven by tendons.
This robot has symmetric design and can walk in any directions by trot gait.

Interesting design I have been considering using tendon cables for a long time. Great to see it relieves the legs of unnecessary weight!
If You are making something that has legs , i recommend searching for "Birdbot" the robot has legs which are moved by tendon cables , as a result the leg weights very little and has less inertia
Imagine seeing this thing waiting at the dark corner and suddenly zoomed in towards you at frightening speed
I want a swarm of these that spring from the bushes when an intruder is detected.
Mount a glock to it.
That tendon/cable drive is the future! I wish more people were experimenting with it. Seems to me that it would be cheaper to build, but a pain to assemble and adjust.
wauw amazing, brings back old memories to Red alert 2.. they were called Terror drones back then.
That would make Halloween so damn fun.
Advantage to tendon/cable designs is the legs are lighter & thus quicker to move.
But a disadvantage is the motor weight is moved to the robot's center, which now has to carry more weight when idle. When the motors are on the knees (in normal legged robot design) the weight is directly above the foot, so when idle it's not lifting that weight.
Basically the tendons make moving more efficient, but make idling less efficient. Maybe we should start making robots sit down when they're idling.
No, that's a serious lack of mechanics you're showing there. As long as the motors are the same (of course, ignoring the transmission imperfections), they lift less weight in the tendon situation (and no, the symmetry of the whole thing makes it so that the weight being lifted, and thus the power being used is the same regardless of if it's in the leg or the body)
All you need is high school physics for this
Shahe Ansar Its quite the opposite
Great design, much faster than I expected. Pretty scary as well to be honest.
Actualy reminds me of the mine from StarCraft 2, even the sound it makes!
Needs a nerf turret and fpv camera! :) Very cool!
that’s crazyyy!
Ancestor of tachikoma!
nice robot
目的や合理性を一切感じさせないデザイン。良いと思います。
quick little guy!!!
nice
oh fuck , the sound alone drives me nutz
My God, that is so cool!
Look for a way to upload Alexa onto the console. Wicked!!!
Прототип хороший, к 2040 году ждем настоящую татикому.
that is a fun toy
i love it
Bro looks like fast headcrab
Poison Headcrab :)
The tendon cable drive is interesting but ultimately I feel like it’s a gimmick. Perhaps it has some niche use in certain bots/environments
make a home security drone robot... something everyone can use !
needs attack mode
Со звуком доктора Зойдберга, вооще круто было бы.
Why always robots have sound?
Forward walking gait needs a little work.
Do you want tektites? Because this is how you make tektites.
Faster than i expected , most robots with that design are slow
Dress it up like the headcrab from Half-Life 2. I mean. That's better said then done so, probably won't happen.
Something missing
bewatchfull with this shit!!
cicada earrape
kafasına birkaç bıçak altına da el görevi görecek bir uzantı al sana çizgifilmden fırlamış işe yarar bir robot yürümesi pek bir anlam ifade etmiyor.
From half life 2
bof!
usless
What's with the irritating background noise, thumbs down for the irritation.
That's the cicadas calling
it is called nature xD
Didn't you people ever watch stargate? I know this is why I hate Replicants 😝😝😝😝
