I cannot tell you how much your comment means to me. Thank you being real, being honest and sticking with me through it all these years. Wishing you the best always Emmanuel.
These are not sugar cane seeds, these are sugar cane joints which are also another way of reproducing sugar cane. The sugar cane seeds are the very tiny seeds most are spherical in shape about 1 to 3 mm in diameter that you sow into the soil and they germinate into little seedlings within a week. How on earth he arrive at calling sugar cane joints as seeds ? Please note both methods can be used to reproduce the sugar cane. As you know the sugar cane is the second largest specie of grass, the largest grass in the world is the bamboo.
I appreciate your expertise on this matter. I am the person in the video. I used the term seeds because marketing using the words "Joints" can be misconstrued. Exp. Would you like to buy a box of joints. Thus I use a term non sugarcane educated people can picture a product to buy. Thanks for your input.
In theory yes, otherwise why would the sugarcane flower? I honestly have yet to see it planted that way. I am trying to grow a sugarcane and bring it to flower and try it. It might be a year but I will make a video of my findings. Thanks
Red canes tend to very soft and often break when feeding them into 3 roller machines. But the juice tastes great. Will be purple to brown if you leave the skin on it and yellowish if you peel and crush it.
In India we prepare sugar can seed simply by cutting the full grown sugar cane into many pieces and at the same time burying them into field we don't choose upper part of sugar cane but full sugar cane . Is it not the proper way sir to harvest the sugar cane ? Thank u
I'm not sure what variety I have but after a fail last year I chopped them off and left them thinking that was that. This year more popped out. One is showing seeds and am wondering if this barley looking stuff is seed. I know of cutting cane so it can reproduce.
You might be able to grow it there but you need to be careful about hard frost lasting more than 2 days. That will kill cane. You would need to cover your canes in the event of a hard freeze or blow warm air on them like they do in the Vinyards and Orange groves
Northeast OK is now zone seven, so it's considered sub-tropical. I've been reading/watching what I can find about growing cane in cooler temps. It seems like the key is to mulch heavily (possibly use row covers too), and they're supposed to grow right thru the mulch in the spring. Haven't tried it yet, but I'm getting ready to start next year, in my backyard, and I'm super excited!!!
Hi there David. How do I order one of these for planting? I have limited space so one or two will do. Also, I’m in Pennsylvania USA. I don’t have WhatsApp Thank you!
We can only give an approximate because each seed we pack is hand selected. Some will have 4-5 nodes on each side and some longer up to 11-12. But as we sell by the weight of 35 kgs we have noticed the amount of seeds to range between 175 - 200 on average.
David hello from Cyprus . I would like to import a box of sugar cane seeds ( the black edible one)Would you please inform me of the cost. So I can forward with payment. Thank you Michael.
YOu cant grow from Actual seeds? seed seeds? I cant get Starts bud. It cost so much just to ship and eBay/ETSY sellers charge a ton and only ship a few. There are no packets of seed seeds?
just type in sugar cane seeds in ebay and you can get a packet of 1,000 seeds, these are the easiest seeds to germinate , takes between 3 days to a week for seedlings to sprout out of the ground. Sugar cane has seeds just like any other type of grass.
These are sugar cane joints used for planting , not seeds, the seeds are very tiny spheres that can also be used for planting as well, how on earth he mixed up sugar joints for planting with sugar cane seeds for planting ?. Sugar cane like any other grass has tiny seeds for planting , just like the grass of your front lawn.
I have about 17 varieties !
I must pay you a visit. Do you have any pics of them you could share. I personally do not know anyone who has that many. Good work.
@@DavidsCaneMachines I'll do a video for you this week on my channel, and id love you to stop by !
No regrets at all buying machine from David. it has been years but believe me the machine is good

Give me a box of your sweet, sugary joints!
If you have the actual seeds from the flower that fall to the ground, can they still make the sugar cane plant?

Yes, India is really advanced in sugarcane planting. #1 in technique

Cane is awesome. It has seeds (nodes) on it's length and it will have seed on the top (barely looking stuff)
@@DavidsCaneMachines do the seeds need stratification? Or just plant in spring is best? I'm in middle of California.

If I put those in the ground they sprout. So what should I call them? I appreciate your expert advise.
These are joints. Every grass consist of a number of joints and sugar cane is no exception.
Title is very misleading

Have you ever heard of "layman's terms?" Gotta help the folks understand simply. Not misleading. Just making a way for understanding.
