Late Night with Seth Meyers

"Will you join me on Arrakis?" is one of the most romantic things I've heard in a while.
Seth didnt let it simmer
Yep that should have been allowed to resonate. It's a great quote...
Love that Villeneuve asked him that! And then Feyd left Giedi Prime for Arrakis to fulfill plot requirements exquisitely. (I saw Dune2 the second x for Feyd.)
I find it very disappointing the interviewer did not catch that piece of gem. I guess script was all he could think about in that moment.
His roles as Feyd-Ruatha and Elvis show that Austin Butler truly has range!
I thought Jonathan Majors will be the actor of the decade but its Austin
He reminds me of Old Hollywood. He has so much swagger and gravitas.
Agreed
the elvis tone he hasnt been able to drop since that movie helps alot with that lol
That's what a lot of his older costars say about him that he is old Hollywood. Even the way he talks and behaves is old Hollywood
He is so good at side stepping personal questions that he doesn’t want to go into. I think that’s one of the aspects that gives him an Old Hollywood air about him. He also doesn’t use social media so there’s mystery about him. You’ll only ever know what he chooses to share and that’s rare nowadays
He has Stellan Skarsgard's gravitas when he talks and he is built like Timothee Chalamet. Weird requirements but he pulled it off perfectly. So well in fact that I genuinely wish we saw more of him as Feyd.
Ikr?! I wish there was more of Feyd in the movie.
Did you see the shirtless scene with him? He is jacked
@@DK_75 It was too short of a scene. Not because I like seeing him shirtless (don’t get me wrong - I do!) but because I lift as well and whenever I see an actor put in the effort only to get shown for like five seconds, my lifter heart breaks. He deserved more recognition for that. (I know that’s not what the movie was about, it’s just the sportswoman in me talking).
Chalamet is tiny. He's short and skinny. Butler is tall and when you see him without a shirt in pap photos and Dune 2 the guy is built
TC's 5'10" by reports, and AB 6'. TC much skinnier than AB in sense too of no discernable male bicep muscles or upper-body heft. Maybe TC doesn't like gyms but he also doesn't have it going on naturally in the upper body. The two actors may not physically appeal across the board to the same demographics.
Everybody's entitled to their opinion on who they like to watch onscreen; it's not real life (where we don't body shame regular people who aren't celebrity actors) but the magic of fantasy. Always has been that way for actors seen on the big film screen.
He is an elegant young man. And an incredible actor.
Feyd was really terrifying and Austin's portrayl was absolutely brilliant ! To me, his part was the best in the entire film.
I hope he names his next fragrance ‘Manly Whispers’.
😂
👍
Periodtt🎉
😂
Right?? It'll be like the str8 version of Jinkx Monsoon's fragrance. "Delusion: Convince Yourself"🙌
I watched Dune part 2 today March 2nd and I had goosebumps you really have to watch this movie in Imax to really experience the amazing visuals and soundtrack
When Austin appeared I still couldn’t believe my eyes he looked so scary his acting was top notch
Great acting ❤
Everyone did a great job
The entire production was impeccable!!! I agree. IMAX is the only choice.
agreed it was phenomenal in IMAX
I loved Austin's portrayal as Feyd-Rautha. He gave the character a real visceral, evil depth. Pretty much how I envisioned him after 40 years of rereading Dune many times. The movie was visually stunning but as a fan there are other things that took away from the experience enough that I am questioning whether I will go and see the third movie.
I fully agree with you, especially since I imagine there won't be two parts to the next movie, they need to fit so much into such a small amount of time it's almost impossible. Especially since it's mostly just politics again
Just curious, what do you feel took away from your experience in the adaption?
WHAT? What could possibly dissuade you?
If you decide not to please buy me a ticket and I'll make a video about it. Why waste anything made by an amazing producer, about one of the best book franchises of all time, with one of the best sci fi castes ever assembled? I'll take that burden from you.
Best feyd ever, the whole movie is amazing... we havent got a scifi movies like this in a long time
i had never seen him in anything before Dune 2, and wow, what a performance. he's mesmerizing. it's wild how chill he is in reality, because Feyd is SO unhinged.
You absolutely should watch Elvis Movie 2022 just amazing 🤤🫠❤️
Incredible casting all around and what a perfect pick to play Feyd, I’ve got my IMAX tickets for Saturday can’t wait!
I love Austin so much he is an incredible, humble and amazing gentleman and so talented and I can listen to him all day and he was AMAZING and SCENE STEALING as Feyd!!!!
He’s a very generous & fun interviewer! Love everything he’s in!
5:20 Nice callback lol it's been cool seeing more of his personality this press tour
even seth seems under austin's spell here lmao we have movie stars with real charisma again we're so back
Just saw him in Dune Deux, and man, his Stellan Skarsgård impression is dead on. Movie needed more crushed beetle capri-suns, though.
Some Lynchian weirdness wouldn't have hurt, I agree.
and cat milking, never forget the cat milking.
@@SzTz100 There was a cat milking action figure in production that got cancelled.
@@SzTz100 they milked water out of dead humans and liquid blue DMT from phallic sand swimmers, how much milking do we need lmao
1:03 that's James Bond material
His turn in Elvis was jaw-dropping. I feel like people have slept on that film. That was my favorite movie of 2022
Agreed; loved Austin Butler in Elvis. Wasn't an Elvis fan going in, didn't know much about him, but became an AB-as-EP fan after the film.
You probably know this but not everyone does if they're not big film lovers. '22 Elvis starring Austin Butler made approx. 3.5x its budget on global theater release (almost $300M) and won many best acting awards including BAFTA and GG precursors to Oscars (where he was nom.). AB sang all of the early Elvis songs (correlating to when they were about the same age) and his voice was blended with Elvis tapes for the later EP years of drug use and poor health that kept changing his singing voice, since the film covered a 2-decade period. Watching his relationships with other musicians, friends, family was fascinating as well.
'22 Elvis is one of the best biopics ever and w/ repeat viewings (subscription US Netflix still has it, maybe Max and Prime on subscription) I don't even mind that Tom Hanks oddly played the corrupt manager and opened the film's first 10 or so mins. until, other than AB/EP montage vignettes. we got to the good parts about Austin Butler/Elvis.
I see lots of movies, and ones I like more than once, and Elvis was my favorite film of '22 as well.
He was so fucking scary in this movie,I had to cover my eyes for some of his scenes.Great future for this guy
I was ever only impressed w few actors ever. One was Tom cruise in Tropic Thunder. Other is Bardem in Dune 2. In both cases, I didn't even realize it was them. And that has to be the most sincere compliment i could give an actor.
Austin Butler should've won an Oscar for "Elvis".
He best at least be nominated for best supporting actor for this role. If Sting could win the Oscar for Feyd Austin should have it hands down. Everything is so woke now. You have to be a person of color or play a gay person to win nowadays. Ridiculous. I agree Austin should have won as Elvis but when I saw him lose Critics Choice and SAG I knew he would lose the Oscar. Did not know the entire movie would be shut out though. They hate Elvis. That is why. Freaking stupid Hollyweird
Tbh I wasn’t impressed by the Elvis movie or his performance. Not as believable as Jacob Elordi as Elvis in Priscilla.
Method acting doesn't mean the performance will be good. Jacob Elordi was 10x better and he didn't try that hard.
@@melissastruxness512sting didn’t win an Oscar for his performance so idk what you are talking about
tbh he didn't fully capture that charm Elvis had, nor the booming baritone voice. He tried and I think it's commendable how hard he worked on it, but other actors have done better, and the fact that he kept doing the voice for interviews, and without sound effects it sounds forced & it has no resonance or actual depth, probably hurt him more with the critics than anything else. He was great in the dramatic scenes and also he's obviously handsome so I'm sure he'll go far in the business.
I've watched Dune 2 twice and it's fkn amazing. 😁
Twice! How? Most previews are out today. Are you part of some shady Dune cabal?
@@godspeedrebirth home theater.
@@godspeedrebirth I watched it once Monday afternoon, then again last night.
Dude was awesome as Feyd-Rautha! Truly spine chilling performance!
bro was the frieza of this movie@@user-ms3jz7ub7n
The pic always reminds me of the zombie’s scream from I am Legend haha
I just binge watched The Shannara Chronicles. Damn this dude is talented! He's always had the Elvis voice ❤
Yep, so many people don't realise that his natural voice already had similarities to Elvis. You can tell they've only seen his much younger roles and not the stuff just prior to Elvis.
@@thyop89 I want to find everything he's acted in
Can’t wait to see the film. Wish I could leave work and go now.
amazing actor austin butler
So awesome his mind dune 2
and the musical score is brilliant
Dude was great in this movie
Personally I don't agree with the Harkonnen aesthetic in these movies. But I DO think Butler was a fantastic choice for Feyd. He brings the unstable badboy presence that you really need for a character like Feyd-Rautha but a lesser actor would've made Feyd seem goofy and over the top. But I believed Feyd's instability, I found it very real feeling.
Just listened to Denis Villeneuve interview. Can’t wait to see!
he is funny love him
Austin is awesome!
Looks like a great performance
Yes he definitely deserved to win something for playing Elvis ❤❤❤❤❤
I do not want to sound too cliché... but Austin is truly dreamy. ❤️❤️❤️
He was so great in the movie. Totally unrecognisable
2:03 makes water appear out of thin air
I’ve never seen him act til Dune part 2. I didn’t even know he’s in it until i saw him on my screen. I was like, “that’s the Elvis guy.”
Hey! It's the guy from Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure.
I find it really funny though when studios provide clips to shows that don’t showcase the actor or their dialogue or skills 😂
fred is the best part of this clip
oooh someone's feeling spicy
Interesting that they only talked about Dune part 2 but he will be remembered for Masters of the Air out at same time.
And what pray tell of that masterpiece of 00s sci-fi cinema Journey to The Centre of the Earth?!
I wish that there was more screen time of Harconen. Because I really like the monochrome estetic and overall to know more about Fyed Rautha would be interesting. Still good performance tho
Can't wait for Dune Part 2.
It's gooddrr
Beautiful Austin, he is the sweetest :3
i hear my voice omg
Seth is doing most of the talking. He should ask short open-ended questions, we want to hear from Austin!!!❤
Seth actually seems kind of nervous
i was in this audience and it was magical
tell us more..............
Wait dune isn't out yet in the us ?
I watched it yesterday ...
It's great
It’s out today for us in the USA. I watch it today at 3pm! The first showing available!!!
Friday (tomorrow) it's out but there were some prescreening at selected theaters.
I watched it at the ‘Fan First Screening’ they had where I am on Sunday. But ordinary screenings start tonight.
Snubbed, I think the academy thought he’s young he’ll have another shot at one because look how dedicated and talented he is.
Elvis is in the house
He always takes time to acknowledge the audience. Every single time. I've been reading the reviews and they have all been really good. No one has anything bad to say about the movie and I keep reading numerous reviews that say Austin Butler as Feyd is the standout. Looking forward to seeing Dune. I rewatched Dune 1 on Netflix
Austin is Val Kilmer n Kevin bacon love child! Good actor.
lol I see it
with a young Brad Pitt in the mix. I think there was a threesome between Val, Kevin and Brad
I think he doesn't sound like Elvis in this interview so, people need to stop being so extra for no reason. This is his voice and he's a nice and kind person.
I have never watched Dune but I would watch it to see Austin.
What planet are you from. 🤔
Just saw it last night and it’s actually really good. Not required viewing to enjoy part 2 but at the minimum watch a recap (and how the Voice works) before part 2
Man Austin performing and his character in the movie it's something incredible, you definitely should watch it.
I’m a 58 yo straight man, but he is hot.
Wow, Kai the Hitchhiker cleans up real nice.
06:05to jump to where the videos point is at.
The rest is revenue padding
God bless you 🙏
So excited to see this!
We love austin butler and seth meyers
We love austin butler and seth meyers.
(And I think seth meyers is falling in love with austin butler too.)
a little steamy there toward the end.
His voice just throws me all the time. It not what I expect to hear.
I know. I remember when I saw him in The Shannara Chronicles and I think he was about 25 at the time. His voice was so deep compared to what he looked like.
It changed from staying in the Elvis character for so long
Wow I ain’t seen dune two yet but he looks awesome in it
my boy
AUSTIN!!!!!!
Head skin makeup
He looked so different as the "devil"guy in ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD as the Mandon killer
The infamous Mandon killer
just saw Dune 2, WOW! Yes, will need a second look... I nominate Austin for Best Supporting Actor Oscar... He plays a psycopath who fights like a top badass seal team assassin...
"Master's of Air"
If I close my eyes, this dude sounds so much like Eddie Vedder.....20 years from now, could be another movie there for him
Now I have to find a clip of Eddie Vedder. Not familar
He definitely brought IT to the film. Bravo! 👏
I just saw Dune today and I kept looking at Feyd, thinking, "Where have I seen that actor before?" Oh, Duh. He is totally unrecognizable in Dune 2 and he played Feyd really well.
His Elvis movie is a must on the big screen. Loved it. Deserved awards, of course got so few.
I cannot wait for Dune part 2, I’m seeing it on Saturday
Austin 😂❤
Seems like a lovely guy, so effortlessly elegant too. Good luck to him & his sister.(I'm sorry his supportive Mum didn't get to see his success, life is rough)
0:39 remind me of Jim Carrey for some reason
🔥
he looks so unrecognizable in the movie he is amazing
After Film Cooper's deep dive on the fake voice, now it's the *_only_* thing I notice 😂😭
ya you only notice negtive thing and people who bully other
As someone who has experienced real bullying, I hope you educate yourself better on what it actually entails.
@@idunnowhatimdoin you might not be bullying him, but you're trying.
They say the most miserable among us seek to inflict it on others.
I mentioned a video that covers a pertinent topic. How you 2 feel the need to twist that into something else and get personal is completely beyond me.
I love you Austin Butler ❤
I've seen so much of this guy that I know for certain I will not be intimidated by his character
like a high nick cage
He’s still keeping his Elvis voice 😂😂😂😂
He sounds nothing like Elvis
His voice seems raspy I think he damaged from singing and talking way to out of his range
@@yungaj6166 he sounded like that before, though. Just watch him in interviews for Shannara Chronicles
this is not the elvis voice, please google what elvis sounded like, thank you
Watching Dune 2 tomorrow. Bought my tickets early to make sure i got a seat!!
6:14
Feyd Rautha introduction in Dune 2 is the best sequence in the movie
Brad Pitt once said "I'd do catering on this movie" about working with Damien Chazelle. Funny how Hollywood repeats itself
0:19
Austin met Sting who played Feyd Rautha in the first Dune .
That title makes it seem like he had a pretty messed up childhood
cant believe i was here
share some more details
❤ thats my austin butler
Dune Part II was incredible. Can't wait for Dune Messiah's adaptation now!
You know, the art of being a talk show host is lost. I'm watching to hear what the guest has to say, not the host.
6:40 well that is because Dune is Star Wars.
But with good writing
@@jesperjee not the Disney ones for sure.
Love Austin Butler in Masters of the Air (Don't forget the the Seth).
Is this casual Friday? Seth needs to smarten up
Feyd! Lovely Feyd!
