william haywood There are so many reasons why people can't leave or hatch out some plot to leave. Abusers isolate those they abuse, often making them financially dependent on them and without contact to family and friends. So if you have no money of your own and you don't even know if you can contact people to help you, then you are really stuck. Not to mention that people sometimes do try to leave and are caught and there is even more abuse.
I truly commend Kelly for her vulnerability and transparency, this song, sharing her story must be helping so many people who are in abusive relationships. She's always been just as talented and beautiful as her sisters.

As a survivor of domestic abuse myself, i appreciate kelly so much for being this vulnerable with us, and telling us her story! Nobody knows what we go through cause we hide it so well, partly cause of embarrassment and fear that the abuse will escalate more and the beatings will get worse🥺😢 i finally gathered all of my strength to leave the night he almost killed me and i spent days in the icu, i went through 6 yrs of hell, so this song hit hard i felt everyword in my soul!! Kelly has always been my favorite and im glad she got the strength to leave and survived to tell us her story 💜
It was five years for me the physical abuse didn’t happen till three years later but I realized then it was more than just physical he also mentally abuse me sexually said I wasn’t good enough because he didn’t get want he wanted when he wanted it I have been away from him for years now I’m happier now but know one knows how much damage has still caused me I payed a price for being in out of a relationship with someone that had no true intentions of loving me we need to always check on our strong woman that have the courage to learn to protect there hearts

I can really relate to this song, I was in a very abusive relationship with a woman who was nine years older than I was. When we met I was only a baby at 20 years old & she was 29 with four kids. I was in a very dark place at the time, and battling with a lot of demons, and most of all trying to find myself. This woman would abuse me verbally, mentally and physically. I allowed her to turn me against my family. She made me feel as no one loved or cared about me. Those who are abusers, are people who are cowards, I can remember fathers day June 15, 2003 her & I got into a really bad argument that lead to her hitting me in the back of my head and I finally hit her back, but I believe that no man should put his hands on a woman. I called the cops & I went to jail for the night and I ended up with a class A Misdemeanor on my record. My dreams of one day joining the U.S. Navy was shattered, due to this. The worst thing about it is that I went back to her in 2005. I heard a song by Mary J. Blige in 2007 which is called Enough Crying. I never thought I would leave this woman until I heard this song. It was my escape goat. This song let me know that I do not have to take the abuse that I was receiving, but most of all it let me know that I can live and move on with my life without this abuse person. It was time to say good bye and do something for me, I had to be out my mind to think that I needed someone to carry me. Now I am with a woman who cares & love me unconditionally which is my wife of five years. I thank God for great music that is uplifting and that will help others out you never know what someone is going through. Male or Female.
This snong brought back some deep emotions for me. Back in 2012 I found myself in an abusive relationship which resulted in multiple bruises, busted lip, sprung ankle, cranked rib, and wore is hand print around my neck for a week. I miscarried what would have been my first born child due to him. It takes alot of courage to stand up, say enough is enough, leave and be able to talk about such an experience. I can really relate to this song, I was in a very abusive relationship with a woman who was nine years older than I was. When we met I was only a baby at 20 years old & she was 29 with four kids. I was in a very dark place at the time, and battling with a lot of demons, and most of all trying to find myself. This woman would abuse me verbally, mentally and physically. I allowed her to turn me against my family. She made me feel as no one loved or cared about me. Those who are abusers, are people who are cowards, I can remember fathers day June 15, 2003 her & I got into a really bad argument that lead to her hitting me in the back of my head and I finally hit her back, but I believe that no man should put his hands on a woman. I called the cops & I went to jail for the night and I ended up with a class A Misdemeanor on my record. My dreams of one day joining the U.S. Navy was shattered, due to this. The worst thing about it is that I went back to her in 2005. I heard a song by Mary J. Blige in 2007 which is called Enough Crying. I never thought I would leave this woman until I heard this song. It was my escape goat. This song let me know that I do not have to take the abuse that I was receiving, but most of all it let me know that I can live and move on with my life without this abuse person. It was time to say good bye and do something for me, I had to be out my mind to think that I needed someone to carry me. Now I am with a woman who cares & love me unconditionally which is my wife of five years. I thank God for great music that is uplifting and that will help others out you never know what someone is going through. Male or Female.

This snong brought back some deep emotions for me. Back in 2012 I found myself in an abusive relationship which resulted in multiple bruises, busted lip, sprung ankle, cranked rib, and wore is hand print around my neck for a week. I miscarried what would have been my first born child due to him.
It takes alot of courage to stand up, say enough is enough, leave and be able to talk about such an experience. Respect and admiration goes out to Kelly for this song and sharing it. & to any woman who found themselves under an abusive hand and got out.
