Nice video, I just had to do this same repair on my G62-227CL, while I was at it I replaced the CPU with a quad core, the CPU fan, and maxed out the ram to 8gb. So far it's running really well, my next upgrade will be a ssd drive.
I have the exact model of yours, but my screen keeps going black it will at some point comeback on then go off again, do you know why this would be happening? I was told it could be the inverter or backlight cable but im not sure which one this model has if either one do you know where they are located and how to replace them i have looked all over the internet and can find nothing. Would appreciate it if you could get back to me on this, Thank you for your time.
Quick question: the laptop was trodden on left hand side, the screen now fluctuates between flicking/ white... will a replacement screen fix the issue, or is it a more technical problem?
Mine was a "simple" case... Worked one moment and was dropped on the floor and the screen actually did not crack but it was "blank". So I just ordered the screen, replaced it and all is well.
These are the jewellery type screw drivers. You should be able to get it at your hardware store e.g. Home Depot. Should cost around $5 to $10. Maybe even try the Dollar Stores. Not familiar with 224HE.
Don't think for a minute this is an easy process unless you have a lot of experience working with tiny little screws that go into nearly inaccessible places. I have been trying to replace the 4 screws that hold the screen to its frame for over an hour now and have only managed to get 2 of them in. Seriously, think long and hard before you attempt to do this on your own. I am so frustrated at this point, I'm quitting and will try again another day.
I like how the two hardest screws (the first two) you had already removed before starting the video. It would have been nice to mention that these aren't supposed to be removable without taking apart the case. Lame.

Right, I've found i can usually coax them out of there but it isn't pretty.
