    I also had a trip with Ram Air Microlight School, it was the best thing I've ever done. Great instructor, explained everything before the flight which put my mind a rest, really enjoyed it.

    what happen if engine stop on air? Stable until landing?

    • @fraserp2377
      @fraserp2377 2 роки тому +1

      Yes they are stable until landing as long as you aim for the best glide speed, without power you are not going to be climbing. The amount they drop without power over distance is called the glide ratio, and because of their relatively light weight they glide better than most aeroplanes. Also you can fit them with parachutes for extra safety if the wing fails for example.

    I always find itfascinating to observe all of the odd geometric shapes that the different plots of land form into - and always hedged by some sort of tree line or rock wall. Makes me wonder how they got their individual shapes - what forces, political or social, had a hand in forming this geometry?

    • @codetech5598
      @codetech5598 4 роки тому

      "how they got their individual shapes" Big trees which were originally there (but may be long gone now) were chosen as the boundary corners.

    • @HuwRichards-e2z
      @HuwRichards-e2z Рік тому

      Read the history of the countryside by Oliver Rackham. Different parts of the British countryside developed in different ways depending on geology, fertility, usage, cultures, inheritance practices and over a very (more than 2000 years) long time period. Boundary marker trees, yes, in some places; but less so in Derbyshire.

      Fuel burn of this microlight is 13 litres p/h at 75mph (about 26mpg for what it's worth). How favourably this compares with a car then depends on which car you wish to compare it to.

    These things are brilliant, the GT450 and Quik R are high performance machines. Much easier to fly than a 3 axis plane and much more fun. I’ve got a bit of onboard film on my channel doing circuits at Redlands in Wiltshire. It’s easy to find. It’s the only video I’ve put up😂. Recommend this to anyone. The only cheaper way to fly is gliders or the unlicensed sub 70kg class of these trikes but only a death wisher would try to fly one without instruction,

    • @w1qtradio252

      @jason Gundry Once you get up to a safe height you will not need a death grip. You can let go of the bar with throttle set and just relax light bar touch. Actually, these can just about fly themselves and a few rare cases they have taken off no pilot by accident. And if you are about 5 to 8 hundred feet high if the engine quits you can glide for about 8 miles.

    • @w1qtradio252
      @w1qtradio252 4 роки тому

      @@thetommygun958 Yes and the glide ratio would be higher, further glide.At lets say mild wind 1500 feet high you would have time to pick a spot and slowly bring it down .By slow I don,t mean forward and drop speed, you always need to have lift when you need it even when dropping. Engine off practice becomes the best way to learn an engine out. Many people land engine out as a norm in good flying conditions. Watch Larry M .
