I don't understand how they don't see, in situations like these, that they are choosing to be the bad guy. If you put your time & energy into finding fault with that?? Then yeah...... you either don't have enough policy ideas worthy of talking about, you don't have enough love in your life to recognize what beauty that moment held, or you couldn't find enough fault with the rest of their FOUR day long event to deflect to....... any or all of the above. It was crazy that they actually went there, wasn't it??
@timbob1145 No, all the former presidents, regardless of party affiliation, those who served and fought for this country like JFK, Eisenhower, etc. are turning in their graves of what one (1) man did to the Grand Old Party. I worked at a school that supported DEI. The inclusion is for special needs students. Because of normalizing SPED students I, and others could recognize the joyful unapologetic love Gus expressed. That’s a superpower. I burst into tears of joy with him.

I miss my mom and dad so much! I lost them in 2020 (dad) and 2021 (mom). I always told them I loved them, but I wish I had thanked them more emphatically for all that they did for me, and they did a LOT! They were such great ( NOT perfect, of course, no one is!) parents. They were the parents I needed. I STILL miss them every day, EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. They were the best!
@@floridagirl4407 I feel exactly the same I couldn’t have put it better I will always miss mine too. I said I love you every time I left them and took care of them when they needed me. I felt rudderless for some time after they were gone. Bless you. Thanks for putting it into words.
They can't help themselves - any opposition has too be belittled / destroyed / abused - they are too emotionally closed and stunted to see pr acknowledge the pure beauty & love encapsulated in this moment. Also they can't attack his policies, they are popular. What do they attack - feeding school children free breakfast & lunch? Tax cuts for poorer people not the richest 1%? free college for the poorest? Paid sick leave? Paid parental leave? All are popular..... They are left with personal attacks.
Yes and they are also evil for doing so as they are supposed to be the party of family and yet they are attacking a family for having family values like love!
Speaks of Tim Walz as a father and man. His daughter was also emotional and his wife had tears in her eyes. He is a man who is loved by those around him deeply, what better life and story can one have than that.

Love, joy, pride. The feelings that boy was having. As somebody with a neurodiverse partner, I know when she is joyful and happy, she physically can’t hide it. I read a comment somewhere yesterday saying that Tim Walz is exactly what this country and the world need at this time in history … an understatement to be sure!!!
I watched Tim Walz’s speech in real time and I was so overcome with joy and pride. The Walzes raised 2 wonderful children, and we must protect them from the vile and villany of modern GOP.
Having a special needs son who is that comfortable being in a loud, packed stadium and can express such love and admiration for his Dad is a great testament to how he has been loved and parented in his life. We all need more Gus!!!!!
Decency is the correct word. I really didn’t realize that so many people had such poor father figures until I read the criticism of a son showing unbridled love for his father.
I have a terrible father whom I haven't spoken to in over a decade, but that didn't stop me from feeling the love and joy Gus felt for his dad. It was a beautiful moment.
It's jealousy. No one ever loved them that much, which is why they are so bitter and hateful. They probably had parents who yelled at them and and beat them. I pity them, really. I found the moment so natural, beautiful, and refreshing, and the antidote to toxic masculinity. Gus has gained a LOT of fans!! Harris / Walz 2024
If you weren't moved by the display of love shown by the Walz family during the convention, you've completely lost touch with your heart. Love is the only thing worth carrying forward at the end of our lives. It's time to wake up, people!
James O'Brien you are spot on. I had tears in my eyes watching Gus share his love and pride for his father. I think people who mock this kind of love haven't experienced it.
I’m an 81-year-old woman, and at special times in my life I’ve seen the men in my life cry tears of love and pride for one another: between my father and my brother, my late first husband and our son, and even my late second husband and my son (his step-son). My son cried such heartfelt tears at his step-father’s funeral. These men were/are REAL men, whose strength and manhood lay in their hearts and minds and that creates empathy and love and humanity. Real men feel deeply and aren’t afraid to show their love and admiration for one another. Tim Walz and his son love and respect each other immensely and aren’t afraid to express it for others to see. People who don’t have that in their lives are sad.
I am sure you will not read this but I listen to you because you give me humanity. Outside my friends and family, I do not find it anywhere. or I feel used (for advertisement) or it feels inauthentic. you are one of the few, even when a disagree (no often) I know you come from a place of kindness. And conservatives hated this moment. Because love, empathy or any human emotions, are just props for them.
Yes, everything is transactional with the conservatives.
@Gaeliclass you've fallen for the age old tactic of demonisation and division. Republicans are your fellow humans, as long as people keep saying things like you are, people won't want to work together to address real problems and the hype, division and conflict will increase.
Dehumanising your enemy only makes it easier to be inhuman towards them.
Sometimes it looks like it actually makes them feel ill to be so close to love and empathy....almost like they are allergic to it
@stephanieb1574 there you go again, dehumanising your fellow people. And you say you're the ones with empathy.

I felt honored to be able to share in such an authentic tender moment. We saw something very special, visceral & poingnant.
There have been some vile comments about Gus Walz but those people are the ones who probably have no love in their lives. Such a genuine heartfelt interaction between a Dad & his son - deeply moving. Tim Walz is an excellent choice for VP, a real human being.
The emotional outpouring of love, admiration, and pride that Tim Walz's son (and daughter) had for him in this moment filled my heart with so much joy I had tears streaming down my face.

It was a really wonderful moment. I feel so sorry for people who are so empty they can’t let themselves be kind.
What was disgusting is that there were conservative pundits who mocked this young man. I was watching the moment live and teared up🥲 what a beautiful moment.
It really shows who they are when they take a son loving his father as a weakness. These people need a hug from someone that loves them
I don't think anyone does and that's why they are reacting with such vemon. It's jealousy.
That fine young man LOVES his Dad .What’s not to love? He’s great .
The Republicans are beyond redemption. Walz is a wonderful father and man.

The conservatives have been predictably dumb by attacking Walz's kid for this
They can't help themselves - any opposition has too be belittled / destroyed / abused - they are too emotionally closed and stunted to see pr acknowledge the pure beauty & love encapsulated in this moment.
Did they?
