  • God would not love you more if you had been born a man, nor would He be able to flow through you more if you were male. God hand chose you at this time to be a daughter without rival. The world needs you to be your God-created you. We all play a vital role in God's mission!
    (Watch part 1 of our discussion on "Gender without Rival" below. We'd love to see women do similar group discussions around the ideas in #WithoutRival! You can grab the study pack here: bit.ly/2aU4hDd)

    Being a man in the church for years, I have noticed how this is still a problem in the church, and it perpetuates problems in every home. As a husband I always tell my wife that she has just as much authority as me. There is no male and female in the spirit. And, we are told to walk in the spirit. What spirit? The spirit of God, who is love. The more love I walk in, the more authority anyone of us carry. Male or Female. Love keeps it simple! Good discussion! Much needed!

    I actually struggled greatly with this....I felt like a second class citizen and I was really angry at GOD for making me female when I have so much potential. Now I feel differently about this of course but it took some searching.

    Thank you ladies for your heart for The Lord. I ws troubled at 7:30 though because it seems like you have adopted the worlds view of womens position in the Kingdom. Even if you dont have a platform to speak or teach you have a purpose. The word speaks for itself and its ok to be a servent and a leader over your children. My mother said it was an honor to be in submission and never saw it as a man trying to take power away from her. Dont follow your hearts , the heart will decieve. Follow the word!! Im saying this in all respect and love and i am thankfull for you all.

    Question . you said the reason men dont think biblical for women to speak in church is because of eve, but isn't most peooles views about women teaching is because of the verse that said women should be silent in church and should not teach men. Just confused

      Hi Ben, She was probably sharing of an incorrect teaching she has encountered. There are many incorrect teachings out there. The one you mentioned has also been encountered by some.

      The verse you are thinking about is 1 Tim 2:8-15 and is used out of context frequently. I would suggest reading Lisa's book to gain more context and to do your own research on this. I am doing the same. It is important to note that the meaning of scripture can be lost in translation, so it is sometimes critical to look at the original greek or hebrew writing and meaning for some words. Best blessings to you Beth

    I don't know why this is even a topic: what about Mark 16 Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother Jesus found out that He had risen
    Then Jesus appeared first to Mary Magdalene, so basically the first were women! These are just men rules, what happened at the garden with Eve it's just an excuse
    That's what religion does

    1 Tim 2:14 "And Adam was not decieved but the woman being decieved was in the transgression." Doesn't mean we always will be deceived but it is what the Bible says. And there is a place for us to reach other women just as long as we are not upsurping men in leadership in the process, 1 Tim 2:12
    Titus 2:3-5
    Women are meant to lead other women and not be shamed for it, but the Bible does not say Adam was in the transgression...

    • @Stephanie-rf2qp
      @Stephanie-rf2qp 6 років тому +1

      If you are stating that women will not always be deceived then why bring up that scripture in the first place? Eve was deceived, and Adam also transgressed against God. Both Adam and Eve did not speak the word of God at the serpent. Romans 5:12 "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned-" 1 Tim 2:12 is used out of context. There were cultic practices being done in the city and there were arguments being had while service was going on, hence the scripture that tells women to stay quiet during services.. just as all men should also stay quiet during services because it is rude to interrupt. Titus 2:3-5 tells women to submit to their husband, not to every man in the congregation. It teaches women how to be a woman of God, this is not meant to tell women that they cannot lead.

    Watching this is actually really sad and disappointing. I just came across a video of yours Lisa where you were speaking at a conference. It was so encouraging and I can see your dedication to the Lord and to the Word, but you’ve clearly left the Word on this topic. Maybe your book goes into it more, but the things that have been shared in these videos are feelings over commands. Feelings that you have the calling, or feelings that you have the desire to, and therefore it must be okay.
    Scripture curbs about feelings, and these feelings are not supreme-even if we feel that they are rooted in wanting to serve God. To give another example that you can probably agree with is to talk about same sex attraction, or even sex out of marriage. Just because I have strong feelings for these things at times, even while being a committed believer to Christ, does not mean that these feelings are from God; on the contrary, we are called to deny these feelings because of the clearer commands of Scripture.
    This topic of debate is one about Scripture and the supremacy of Scripture, it is not about competency or surrender. I’m sure that your sons and many followers are slightly confused in your life example as to whether or not Scripture is the supreme authority.
    The question I believe we can be asking is, ‘In what capacity does Scripture allow women to teach or to lead?’ This is a very different question, and granted, a question that more churches need to let change their congregations. Pastoring & teaching are different roles. I really believe that you have a strong teaching gift from the Lord, but how and where you use that are things that should be sought out. I am not opposed to women teaching men, because Priscilla and Aquila both taught Apollos, but at the end of the day, church structure needs to obey the parameters laid out in Scripture, or else you are no longer building the Church according to the will of God.

    God's word is unchanging. It is clear that men are to be the preachers and elders of the church. That said women are of equal importance and can certainly minister and speak to parishioners. I don't know anyone at any Bible believing church I've attended that believes women should have no voice. Don't take Beth Moore's example ladies. She is trotting into heretical ground. It is out of obedience to God's design that the sexes have distinct roles.

    Ephesians 5:22
    Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.
    1 Timothy 2:11
    A woman must learn in quietness and full submissiveness.
    1 Timothy 2:12
    I do not permit a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man; she is to remain quiet.
    1 Peter 3:1
    Wives, in the same way, submit yourselves to your husbands, so that even if they refuse to believe the word, they will be won over without words by the behavior of their wives

    This is not sound biblical teaching...this is the teaching of this world. Let God be true and every man a liar...God will not call a woman contrary to the Word of God. God does not call women to preach...the Word of God will remain forever..people will change and try to use the Word to defend their opinion.

      God does in fact call women to preach, otherwise women would not have the gifts that they do

    • @tilltheend7902
      @tilltheend7902 6 років тому +3

      Stephanie Sure God gives gifts but the Bible says women can use their gifts not for preaching but for teaching younger women how to love their husbands and children and how to take good care of their homes.

      Tilltheend then you and I have different interpretations, I am not willing to argue. Gender makes no difference in the kingdom of God, we are all just vessels. Both women and men can equally be used to bring Gods glory and spread the good news, women in no way should be barred from teaching the good news because of one antiquated verse. The Bible describes that everyone, man and woman, should make disciples out of themselves and teach the good news. Not just men, but women too. Women also have a responsibility to God to teach the good news, not just men.

    • @tilltheend7902
      @tilltheend7902 6 років тому +5

      Stephanie Preaching the Word of God in a church setting is an office/ calling given by God to men alone. Teaching on the other hand can be done by women but not as preaching...please read the New Testament carefully. Priscilla was a godly woman but never preached...she and her husband took Apollos on the side and taught him the way of the Lord. Women exercising authority over men in the form of preaching is the spirit of Jezeebel not of Christ. These women need to repent!

    • @tilltheend7902
      @tilltheend7902 6 років тому +1

      Stephanie I agree that sharing thw Gospel is women's responsibity too but that can be done in a multitude of ways not just from the pulpit. You know...the Bible needs to be obeyed not interpreted according to our itchy ears and desires. I cannot imagine Paul ever blessing women pastors.
