Amen sisters. The division and undermining of genders has to stop. And let’s all break that cycle. We are all unique and bring value to life in Christ. I like what you said Lisa “When God is leading us through His Holy Spirit, He is not looking for gender but surrender.
I was a woman who has been gullible, who has been unfit but when Gods word said My Grace is sufficient for you something in me quickened and I realised my sufficiency is in Christ Jesus not myself. I say Amen and Amen. Oh what grit I carry, the boldness in love that has been revealed through Christ Jesus. Standing for my Faith, so many have tried to shoot me down for believing and putting my trust in His word alone instead of man made doctrine. I count it ALL joy to be persecuted for Christ. I will NOT nullify the Grace of God.

Lisa... touching on your sons comment; I can say, I experienced the competitiveness and deception of women as a single-mom. Sadly the spirit of some women of jealousy looms not just in the world but within the church. I found it very hard to keep friendships because of jealousy and competitiveness or intimidation. I actually had more male friends as a single-mom because a lot of women within the church were not nice or clickie. There has to be a shift within women's hearts. Even the married women were my friends but kept me at a distance because I was a threat to their marriage- one woman repeatedly accused her husband of having an affair with me on the worship team to the point he wouldn't schedule me just to prove to her he wasn't doing anything. (And I was never ever close to him- I wasn't even attracted to him if that helps- I stood clear away from him). My husband had left the faith in 2001 and left the church. This rocked my world because I was a stay at home Mom. But it taught me how to become a strong woman of faith- I had to learn it was okay to go to work and still care for my 3 children. God worked out my schedule to be home when the kids were out of school. I had always desired to be a speaker and author like you. At that time I used to go to as many women conferences that I could. I was 27 and now I'm 43 and remarried with 2 more babies. I've been writing children's books (not published yet). I am very empowered when I hear you speak because most I limit myself so much because I constantly have doors shut on me. Yet I have always thought of myself as a Warrior. I even began writing a novel in 2007 about a Warrior named Cheruth. Writing in reflection of what I saw myself as a Christian woman. Keep inspiring!!

You are Aewsome!!!! And just now I found this!. For years been criticized by other women for beign "too strong" more when I pray and encouraged them to follow their heart. Tone it down, shut up, no good enough. It is not what Our God wants for us. Keep preaching the truth. Thank you for what you do.❤

God bless you all for your words.. It blessed me ❤ and I TOTALLY agree, God chooses his children and gender can not be a limit!
You mentioned that there are certain roles different for men and women, to be honest I do not know about gender roles and I'll love if y'all can make another video explaining this.
    Thank you and God bless!❤✨

Love this, Lisa. I've been competing with men my entire life. My dad had 3 daughters that he raised like 3 boys. I then joined the US Marine Corps where I was only 1% of the Corps. I heard a male drill instructor tell his platoon while we were in boot camp that we were the Marine Corps whores. How insulting. I worked four times as hard to get half as far. Afterwards, I became a member of a veteran's organization and pushed myself there as well, only to be told I was a b*tch. I became a single mother after years of him cheating and blaming me which culminated in me saying NO MORE and him decided that a beat down and trying to kill me was better than standing up for myself. God saved me that night, along with my son. Over the last 10 years, he and I have become strong Christians, faithful to our Lord and I know that God uses me and my gifts to show others grace, faith and mercy. At 18 years of age and graduating HS next month, my son loves and respects the woman who has raised him and knows that we are not less than; but equals. Thank you for all you do for women of the world. You and your family have become such great Christians in leading us to greater love in the Lord. I look forward to sharing all you do with others. Love you all. Veronica

My family recently moved to an area with few churches. We found a church with many excellent qualities and a very strong youth group. So far, everything we've learned points to a biblically based church. However, the pastor did communicate the belief that women shouldn't preach. He validated that because there weren't any disciples who were female. I disagree with their interpretation.
I don't believe there is a "perfect" church this side of heaven and I don't currently have an intention to preach myself (although I would yield to that if I felt God's leading.)
And while I don't ever want to presume I know better or go into a church with the intention of changing it, I am arming myself with research on the topic with the intention of having an open and heartfelt dialogue with the pastor.
I guess my question is, at what point does this issue become a deal breaker and we look for another church? I don't want to our 10 year old daughter to be stifled by this. We have had a conversation with her about why we believe differently and where in scripture we've gleaned those beliefs from.

That's quite a massive request for wisdom to make on UA-cam (where the commenters' conversation doesn't necessarily reflect helpful counsel from the Word!) I rarely comment because of this, but saw your thoughtful comment and felt I should respond.
It's strange how little this issue does get addressed in the 21st century church, and I hear your struggle, as I grew up in an amazing Bible-honoring home and attended church lovingly, but the issues with women being in leadership is still a topic of conflict for many Christians, even in my own family. I appreciate that you don't want limitations to be placed where Christ preached freedom, especially as this impacts your daughter's future.
I could also tell you where I stand on this issue, but I love your honesty, and your perspective is the right one: start with the Bible! In Paul's teaching to the early Church, there are significant passages that pastors and leaders use to highlight or explain restrictions on women in leadership. You'll need insight from the Word to start the conversation with your pastor. By the way, women in leadership and women's ability to preach and teach are not the same issue.
In any case, you're going to receive wisdom, strength and encouragement from the Holy Spirit by studying the Bible, and not just about gender issues!

Just hearing what that man says about women being deceived and gullible destroys me. When I try to remember what God says about me, those scriptures creep into my mind and I feel like I have no solid ground to stand on because it's right there in His word.

Take a shot every time she says "How does it make you feel" or "I feel". Remember fellas, women make decisions based on feelings not logic

Ok, so let's get to the meat of the issue: can women lead in churches? We can keep saying that women can come alongside men but what does that actually mean? It sounds nice and great but you can interpret that in so many ways.

    Gal 3:28
There is neither male nor female; for you [who believe] are all one in Christ Jesus [no one can claim a spiritual superiority].

Watching this is actually really sad and disappointing. I just came across a video of yours Lisa where you were speaking at a conference. It was so encouraging and I can see your dedication to the Lord and to the Word, but you’ve clearly left the Word on this topic. Maybe your book goes into it more, but the things that have been shared in these videos are feelings over commands. Feelings that you have the calling, or feelings that you have the desire to, and therefore it must be okay.
Scripture curbs about feelings, and these feelings are not supreme-even if we feel that they are rooted in wanting to serve God. To give another example that you can probably agree with is to talk about same sex attraction, or even sex out of marriage. Just because I have strong feelings for these things at times, even while being a committed believer to Christ, does not mean that these feelings are from God; on the contrary, we are called to deny these feelings because of the clearer commands of Scripture.
This topic of debate is one about Scripture and the supremacy of Scripture, it is not about competency or surrender. I’m sure that your sons and many followers are slightly confused in your life example as to whether or not Scripture is the supreme authority.
The question I believe we can be asking is, ‘In what capacity does Scripture allow women to teach or to lead?’ This is a very different question, and granted, a question that more churches need to let change their congregations. Pastoring & teaching are different roles. I really believe that you have a strong teaching gift from the Lord, but how and where you use that are things that should be sought out. I am not opposed to women teaching men, because Priscilla and Aquila both taught Apollos, but at the end of the day, church structure needs to obey the parameters laid out in Scripture, or else you are no longer building the Church according to the will of God.

The first two minutes...I'll tell you what I'm not hearing. I'm not hearing Grace. And Grace is our Mother (Galatians 4: 21-31). And these threatened men want me as a woman to believe that THEY aren't gullible? They don't know who they are in Christ if they're acting like this. Grace upon grace on them, so they can feel free to come to their Christ-led senses, and not feel ashamed of being completely duped for a time.
