To turn the fabric stem piece, place a straw inside, then use the blunt end of a bamboo skewer or something smaller than the straw to push the fabric inside the straw. Makes turning small fabric tubes a lot easier.

Spin the dowel in the other direction and the fabric will not unwind (no waiting for drying time).

I love these! I'll have to try and make them as Christmas trees this year since I won't have a real (or even fake) tree this year. I don't have any yo-yos, though. I guess I can use any fabric bottom, I suppose, or try to make some. Hmm, I don't have any spools either. Haha, I guess I need to find a Dollar Tree.

To turn the narrow-sewn strip inside out, just place a safety pin on one side and feed it through the opening, and then remove the pin. I learned that trick so many years ago, and it works great. The mushrooms are so creative. Love them!
