A special Thanks to Tom Salter of Stonewall Studios in Niagara,Canada.
Four Weeks In Chelsea
My first week in Chelsea
I spoke to the House Of Lords,
they received me quite uncommonly
in a style they could afford.
They didn't charge me tax
like they did "the far thirteen"...
On a Chelsea holiday
where courtesy's a simple act
To raise a glass,God save the Queen!
Chelsea is a West End dream.
Drink a pint, and lay it down.
Take four weeks in London town.
My second week in Chelsea
I sailed on the royal yacht,
for Britannia rules the waves, you see,
which the Thames has seldom got.
I made my social splash
and I saw where London Bridge once was...
on a Chelsea holiday
where the pace is ne'er too rough or fast.
To raise a glass,God save the Queen!
Chelsea is a West End dream.
Drink a pint, and lay it down.
Take four weeks in London town.
My third week in Chelsea
I joined-up with Scotland Yard,
but they let me go by midday tea
and the changing of the guard.
I wasn't Sherlock Holmes
but I was clued-in to Joni's song
On a Chelsea holiday
where you start each day and feel a glow
To raise a glass,God save the Queen!
Chelsea is a West End dream.
Drink a pint, and lay it down.
Take four weeks in London town.
My fourth week in Chelsea
I took flowers to the Queen,
in a car handmade in Coventry
painted British racing green.
Her Highness wasn't home
but I saw Grace Slick the week before...
on a Chelsea holiday
where they make a Yank feel right at home.
To raise a glass,God save the Queen!
Chelsea is a West End dream.
Drink a pint, and lay it down.
Take four weeks in London town.
And I say;take four weeks in London town!
Wonderful my dear friend! original song
Thank you very much, Lara!
lovely, love Joni's "Chelsea Morning" can clearly hear it's influence musically as well and lyrically a wonderful original Tom, really love the vocals too, full of fresh morning air... "make my social splash" bravo "raise a glass, god bless the queen..."
Long after I wrote this song (which was a long time ago) I discovered Joni's song and the Jefferson Airplane's songs were about the Chelsea Hotel in New York. No matter, I followed Grace Slick but did a full four weeks of England's Chelsea. Ironically, nearly none of the images in the video are of Chelsea. (artistic license lol). I was convinced that this would be a hit, and every time I am over there, I do indeed raise a glass "God save the Queen"...cheers! Thanks for listening and for your nice comment.
Very beautiful, great work dear Tom..have a happy weekend, much love:)
Krystyna, thank you for coming by and for your nice comment!
Oh, I adore the time captured in this Chelsea jaunt. Your lyrics here and vocal are brilliant. A wow of a listen for me tonight. I'm hoping all is fine for you there and that your Chris is enjoying his days. Warm warm holiday wishes to you, Linda x
Thanks for stopping by Linda, and your kind and generous comment is also much appreciated. :o)

Chelsea looks amazing! I’m planing to travel around England, I love this country!
Sara, I do not think all of those photos are of Chelsea...I think a lot are from London/Westminster lol...but yes, you will get out and about to other places. My friend Rob is in Derby/Sherwood and it is a very beautiful country.

You have a great voice
Nice!!! Great song!
Beautiful song mate..
Thanks for the post..
It cheered me up no end..
However, being the eternal pedant I must point out that both Joni Mitchell and Grace Slick wrote their songs about the Chelsea district in New York..
and, barely a 10th of your pictures are actually Chelsea..
Lol
But thank you for the thought and the song

Thank you so very much!
fascinating tune.....you somehow have captured the sound of the period, albeit british and not chelsea, new york.....perhaps shades of early rolling stones?..lady Jane? In any event, your sensitive vocals, and careful acoustic and melody really moved me...thank you for this delightful ballad
Thanks for having a listen...I think I haven't been over here in an age and rather enjoyed it myself :o) You are correct about the origin and morphed slant. I have never been to the Chelsea Hotel, only the English Chelsea. It was a fun song to write and it was easy to capture that period...(it's mine! lol). Your kind words are appreciated. Tom
my time too...a vibe never to be replicated, the chelsea before the punks took over new york....nothing against punk but they had nothin on Joni and grace!
Amen! little ever remains the same... I often get labeled "retro" but the truth is that I never really left.
posting the lyrics help, beautiful creation :)
a collonist??

Great song my friend
thank you for posting it as a reply..
i'm flattered

No problem! It was a very nice video while having my first... glass of Pepsi of the day :)
Tom, how the heck did I miss this one? It's great! I do believe I've been in that restaurant at 0:32. Is it in the '7 Dials' intersection?
Hey, this vid has pints! But, don't let the EU know, or they'll be calling them 'half-liters'....somehow 'raise a 473mil' just ain't got the same ring to it...kinda hard to rhyme, too....
i shared this one on my facebook, because my wife's name is chelsea....so cool but funny too..lol 4 weeks in chelsea? try almost 13 years..LMAO i love the song and its new to me..:-) are you singing this ? a cover? or just uploading music..im just wondering ...take care!!
Hi Malk...seems you picked the lowest resolution video on my channel lol. This is the only place you'll hear this. Like all but the "Live in Paris" series, all on the channel are my originals. I'm pleased you enjoyed this old song...thanks for listening
@@tps607 oh wow that is so cool...did you write this too?
