I agree with you jammy. Condemnation of Mansoor Ali khan is not about Tamil film industry or state of Tamil Nadu but just the individual. This just shows no region in India is perfect and we should work together to make sure this misogyny is condemned .

Maximum misogyny exists in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. It's just that their PR and propaganda machinery is strong in regards to so called left and progressive image. These states think short skirt means license to rape. Premarital sex is banned. Strict inter caste marriages. No sex before marriage. Women cannot hold lands and have no power economically. Women are supposed to be chaste and pure while men can do anything.

Secondly, an Instagram user correctly pointed out that it was only when Mansoor Ali Khan spoke about Trisha Krishnan, who is an A list celebrity the whole industry and the Internet supported her but had it been passed about a lesser known celebrity in the industry nobody on the Internet would care to pass a single comment. I always wonder, why do we have this weird biased against B and C list celebrities. Whenever an A list celebrity is pointing out unethical behaviour in the entertainment industry, we applaud them and join the bandwagon in criticising the industry altogether, rightfully so however, when lesser known celebrities talk about the same issues then they are the ones playing ‘victim card’ and we either mock or discredit their experiences altogether.

I am glad you talk about important topics like this, especially when we live in a world where the South vs North debate goes on and on. There is such a lack of nuance when some people say Oh the south is filled with humble people and they make family movies blah blah. If you are an avid follower of the industries within the South of India you know the kind of view they have of women in particular. This is why it is necessary not to put any industry on a pedestal and actually call out such rodents. My question is what is being done for the safety and protection of women in these industries? It isn't just calling them out on social media but there need to be strict policies enabled immediately. The same goes for the Hindi or any other language. Such people exist everywhere and no industry is free from it.

Mansoor ali khan has recently took a movie which speaks for people and censor board told to cut many scenes.. if you see, Kushboo who is in BJP is making it as big issue .. so its more like politics than justice for trisha bla bla.. so before you put video.. do some homework😂😂😂😂 .. everyone in south knows this is purely politics.. just don't spread hatred.. he himself is a sarcastic actor in tamil cinema 😂😂😂

Those r--ape comment. Honestly, I am not surprised but immensely disappointed and disturbed.
80s -90s was traumatising decade for actress. Like every movie had 1 ra_p scene.
It was disgusting obsession of directors. They even used to threatened the actress if they refused. Read an article where Raveena Tandon had to put on clause that in any r--ape or sexy scene her dress wouldn't be torn bcs of which she was called 'arrogant'.
Jaya Bachan too refused do such scene to which director got mad and even send Amitab Bachan , her co-star to persuade her. But she didn't budge. Ultimately the director decided to capture the scene naturally!! (Okay, that's criminal offence, how did the director is not in jail . I don't know. )
So he let the goon actor moleste her on set! But Jaya ma'ma being Jaya ma'ma, beat him up! (Bada**!) Then the goon actor gave up and back down.
Only after then the director cut the scene.
It's seriously shocking and sick , how directors could go this far and now you hv the villians from gone era talking s* like that!
(But I do wonder if any actor be it hero or villian refused to do it and advised against it. )
Although now such scene has reduced but the rise of vulgur item song negate the effect.

On one side i feel scared that the urban population and media people who use pseudo femenism to falsely accuse and then also so enraged that men like Mansoor and Radha ravi exist who pass on lewd comments so unabashedly on women and feel no guilt or need to feel sorry for. India needs feminism and awareness on these concepts and not behaving like this. Also the shaming and recording of women in pubs is so scary, it's their choice and women obviously fight so hard to get to that level of freedom and if some media persons show their faces live it really hampers their life. Media should be empathetic and considerate towards people.

I swear this comment shock me to the core to think I grew up in the 90s where stalking, harassing, catcalling, and downright gaslighting were common troupes to bag the girl. Even till years back Shahid Kapoor following Sunakshi around and Varun Dhawan dancing around Illeana D'Cruz like are you serious. Basically an entire generation of men where taught this by Bollywood but do you see any of the writers, actors, directors and producers being held accountable? Absolutely not.
