This may seem like a random reaction but the reason why I'm checking this out is because I'm currently reacting to SKZ Kingdom Week on Patreon and I literally stopped at the MAMA 2020 performance of this song so I could first react to the original, after reacting to it I immediately went back to SKZ Kingdom Week 😂😂
Plus, this song has been on my "to-do" list for a few months :)
Little small fun fact about that 2020 MAMA performance. Despite it being the year of gods menu they weren’t even nominated for any awards that year. And apparently were asked to perform to promote their participation in kingdom on rather short notice.
So to perform an older song and a B-side at that instead of the current title track could be interpreted as a FU towards mama/mnet. Also they left straight after the performance and didn’t stay for post interviews. Chan even went live while MAMA was still on air. And if I remember correctly got more viewers than the award show 😂
@lea-sophiestrelow5668 yes, all this is true from what I've read and watched, and it makes me both incredibly angry and happy. Angry that they got snubbed for the nomination/award they deserved and happy, elated even, that they preformed this song and got more views on Chan's stream 😅 Seeing all of their success now fills my heart with so much joy. They deserve all of the good things 🥰

In conection to Kingdom and Victory Song. Stray kids performed Victory song at MAMA 2020. It was fascinating, but so agressive. And than I read a story in someone` comment :
"Okay so story time. They were actually angry and fired up during this performance. You could tell the energy was different. This was because in MAMA 2020, Stray Kids didn't get a single nomination even though they had one of the biggest years of their career. God's Menu was such a hit in 2020 internationally and they broke through 500k albums sales with their In Life album. And yet not a single nomination. And then Mnet has the audacity to use Stray Kids for views by having them film a MAMA countdown. They were invited to MAMA 2020 without any nominations just to promote Kingdom AND according to their choreographer they only had a week or two to prepare this performance. So of course they went and chose a b side from 2019 to perform. Not even a song from 2020 or a title track but a b side from 2019 called Victory Song. With lyrics that talk about winning a battle before it even starts. Which they were right about since they went and won Kingdom after this so 🤷
Han actually released his Skz player song I got it right after MAMA nominations were announced and the lyrics were self explanatory. Right after the performance, Chan actually went live while MAMA was still airing (and he had more real-time viewers than the MAMA livestream) and played I got it while saying that "Han must have had his reasons for writing this song" so I'd say the diss was very much intended towards MAMA and Mnet."

I've heard this story before, and this is why I get goosebumps every time I watch the MAMA performance of this song and hear Changbin growl, "Don't you know who we are? You cannot defeat us! This is our Kingdom! You can't kill us, bring it on!" I feel like every member had an almost angry, defiant demeanor throughout the performance, which only made it more powerful! This song was the perfect choice for them to perform.
And Lee Know calling the entire show an April Fool’s joke on Vlive when Kingdom was just starting 😂😂

Not only we get a banger, with amazing voices, but we also get Chan's abs, and a glimpse of Hannie's tummy. They are all fire in this. One of my all time favorites. And Changbin... dude was starting to get buff in this one

I actually got to see them live in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago. They performed this and it was AMAZING!
Great song! Even better hearing it live! If you ever have the chance to see them in concert go do it, you won’t regret it😊 should definitely listen to double knot and side effects and district 9 and the voices. There’s so many great songs you’re only at the beginning!! I love how you analyze every song too:) definitely listen to mixtape: oh, it’s a must!
