just for a bit of context on this performance: stray kids werent supposed to originally perform at the mama 2020 because they were not nominated for anything which was a huge surprise and blow to everyone considering the impact of god's menu. The only reason why they performed was to actually introduce kingdom.
What makes this performance so special is the fact that the mama's didn't give them a lot of time to prepare for the performance and didn't treat them well at all. A lot of people found the way mama treated stray kids as extremely disrespctful and it angered a lot of people (who were already pissed off skz wasn't nominated).
So this performance was basically skz giving mama and mnet a giant f you. They used victory song as a way to show they didn't need a mama because they were already winners. I dont know if you felt it but they seemed extremely fired up throughout the whole stage and i thought giving you the context would help you understand why.
Word! I feel that MAMA also committed a mistake somewhere as well and was afraid to make corrections in their nominations.
Anyway Stray Kids are clearly the victors and their talents are immense.

Not only did skz prove themselves at mama, they also made Victory Song's original meaning come true! The original meaning is "we can hear this song in our ears and we sing it even before we battle because we are confident we will win." They performed this as an introduction to Kingdom. And they actually won Kingdom!!

the victory song mama 2020 performance is one of the best things i’ve ever seen, i get chills every time i watch it.
we were all going crazy when this performance happened, everyone was already pissed off because of the nominations and disrespect since it was obvious mnet is bringing people there just to promote kingdom, so seeing them so confident and putting on a performance like this despite everything was really an experience, plus no one expected them to perform a b-side from 2019, but that's who skz is, they always manage to go further and do things no one expects, also they're all about story telling and making a statement so this song was a perfect choice to do both
StrayKids not just simple making up songs or spitting up words and not doing it ... They really Work hard ! They won not because only for Voting and because of a big Fandom... This was epic. Ateez and The Boyz had also kingdom performances on 2020 MAMA that were also amazing. Also Hyunjin, San ateez and Junyeon the boyz had a 2 min dance off in this 2020 MAMA awards show kingdom style. It was amazing. Stray kids also had performed gods menu live several ways. One with knifes and one Japanese style with tables. They are such great performers. Thank you for your reactions. Love it
This stage was a whole experience for real, watching it for the first time i felt like i had a revelation omg, AND LIKE THEY SAID, UNDEFEATED🔥
I remember watching an interview or talks where Changbin explained that they argued with the company when they proposed Victory Song as their performance for MAMA 2020. It was a long and hard decision for the company to give them permission, but when they heard the demo of the arrangement and heard the overall theme (plus skz's ultra dedication of pushing this song no matter what) they finally gave them permission.
They sure did a good job to agree tho! They would be at loss if they rejected this performance that later turned out to be one of legendary perf at MAMA 🙌 Although i knew the company must thought it would be much safer and better for them to go with their most popular song or title track, i believe they thought of God's menu or Back door as a presentation, but yeah little did they know every song SKZ presents would tore up the stage for sure! 😌💜

This performance is insane! The costumes, stage production, the research arrangement of the song, vocals, choreography is craaaazy!! I swear they always serve different taste in their performances always!
I think that the type of confidence that they have is a really good mindset for the industry they are in because they're saying with their stage presence "we know what we are and we know our worth" and this is not a thing that I've seen from a lot of young groups in my years of following kpop groups. As we have seen in kingdom they know what their performance are worth, and how this can be twisted by malicious people in cockyness and a sense of superiority, and I hope that with this they will continue to push the bar up to be even more accomplished and recognised as the wonderful performers and people that they are 💜💜

Actually, that preformance was basically like a preview of Kingdom. Stray Kids, ATEEZ, and The Boys all preformed and at the end, Hyunjin, San from ATEEZ, and I am very sorry to the fans of the Boys, I am not sure which member it was, but all three of them were on the stage "battling for the Kingdom Crown." You should watch the entire preformance. All three groups were amazing.
Now as for Stray Kids, and seeing how JYP no longer has his front burner boy group, Got7, in his company anymore. Now I believe that Stray Kids is going to fill that spot. Now all k pop fans know that JYP was scared of Got7, he couldn't control them...JYP is down right terrified of Stray Kids. And damn right, he should be...Stray Kids are proving that they are a force of nature! As for Hyunjin....I think he has been back longer than what they have said... in one of Stray Kids b-t-s (behind the scenes, this time) moments, the camera pans to their back up dancers, and even though their faces were covered, one looked awfully familiar. And yes, I get it, there was a lot of dancers, all dressed the same, all faces covered. But this dancer was smiling a certain way for his eyes do the same thing that Hyunjin's does. When the dancer spotted the camera, he darted out of frame...and lastly, not the only one who has seen it....several videos of "The dancer" asking the same question, "Hyunjin, is that you?"
Besides, it doesn't matter anymore. Because not only is Hyunjin back with Stray Kids. But Mingi is back with ATEEZ, after a 9 or 10 month mental health hiatus..We have our giant princess back!!!! So both groups are whole again...I know both are planning comebacks. And with Changbin and Wooyoung from ATEEZ being really good friends, that helped the rest of them to form a really strong bond, i.e. Wooyoung catching Felix, and than calling Felix "My Son" during their "God's Menu/Du Ddu Ddu du preformance. These are going to be amazing comebacks....
Hyunjin was like knight royal character on anime. Gosh. Real legolas.
