If there’s a big play, you can hear the crowd from across the Delaware River in South Jersey. I grew up in Westville NJ which is 3 miles from the stadium directly across the river and we used to be able to hear fans clearly when the Vet was around, but that’s 67,000 strong and the Vet was basically a megaphone pointing to the sky. To hear it with 47,000 in an “open ballpark” like CBP is impressive.
Not a Duke basketball fan but it’s always interesting to watch when a crowd is going crazy. Watching a Phillies playoff game is the same if not better since it’s 45,000 going crazy not just a student section. It makes the other mlb playoff games seem like late June games in terms of crowd noise.
It took me a while to understand how special our fanbases are. It wasn’t until I watched a non Phillies playoff game and was confused as to why the crowd seemed so subdued. It was like they were watching an opera or something lol.
That Ray's playoff attendance is astounding. That looks like a crowd in late August when your team is 28 games out of first place. If I were the owner I'd say "If we mean that little to you I'm moving the team."
@@adanalyst6925 they need a better park in a more accessible location. The Phillies have good enough freeway access but also have mass transit to the sports complex. I'm a Mets fan and I agree with this video I give respect when respect is due and the fan base in Philly is definitely like no other in all of the big 4 American sports. This is what I love about being a Phillies fan. The fan atmosphere is unlike anything that a lot of teams wish they have. We are crazy and wild, but we love our team and will support them no matter what.
There is some truth in this. Baseball is interesting with these Phillies. Crazy fans, interesting personalities, talent, and great story lines. That Braves rivalry is something to see. With the new rules and a team like this baseball has found a winning formula.
I've been a Phillies fan since I was old enough to know what baseball is. Born in Philly in '57, I remember like it was yesterday lying on the living room floor with my brothers, watching Jim Bunning pitch a perfect game on Father's Day 1964 at Shea. So many memories through the years. So many players to wear the uniform. And me, wearing my little Phillies uniform, striking out batters and hitting home runs in the driveway out back, while By Saam and Bill Campbell called the play. Sitting right here on my desk is a photo from last year, of my son and my grandson posing in the right field bleachers with the scoreboard in the background, showing the World Series graphic. And the Phils won that game. What a memory for them!
As a Phillies fan, it's just nice to be recognized. Additionally, it seems like this team really just likes and cares about each other. It seems like they say really heartfelt things about each other in interviews that I don't see other teams doing.
Being a Philadelphia native John Middleton and Jeff lurie are the best owners anyone could ask for. They put Joshua Harris to shame hence why there is a lot of hate going on with the sixers compared to the other teams. Jeff and John want a championship and will spend money and Josh just wants money and a new stadium
I'm a 3rd generation Philadelphia sports fan. People don't understand us. We are extremely passionate about our teams. Win or Lose. One of the best fanbases in sports. Watching some old plays and calls just makes me tear up. There's a reason there is a ton of sports bars in that area. I will never forget Harry's Call in 2008 when I was 14. "The 0-2 Pitch. Swing and a miss. STRUCK HIM OUT! The Philadelphia Phillies are two-thousand-eight world champions of baseball. Brad Lidge does it again!"
I was on my knees with my hands in the air faster than Lidge was. I think the ball was about half way to the plate, and you just knew what was going to happen. That and Rhys with the bat slam were the most awesome moments I have seen (yes, I know Harper's HR was great, but Rhys had so much anger and years of frustration explode in that moment).
as a philadelphian and philly sports fan, thank you show much for finally saying that we aren't all bad and one of the best fan bases. yeah there's some bad people and bad memories, but doesn't every fanbase have that group that's bad? anyways i enjoyed your video and i hope you have a great day :)
I am a teacher at a local Philly private school and we schedule events around the Phillie's playoff season because we know no one will show up. That's just how it goes.
As a 50 year old Philly fan born and raised in delco .this atmosphere has been this way for all four sports.when the flyers are rolling nobody wanted to come to Philly .other teams were actually scared to come here..we have always got a bad rap for how much we love our sports..if the eagles lose a game it stays with the city the entire week..
Anyone not from here, you gotta make the trip and go to an Eagles or Phillies playoff game. The atmosphere is absolutely unbelievable. You truly see the magic of sports here in Philly. We just want to have fun and win. The 2022 Phillies playoff run was a magical time in the city, everyone was full of joy and just enjoying the ride.
as a kid who was 10 when they made it to the playoffs in 11 and didn't really start following them until 2013 (oof), 10 year playoff draughts are a hell of a drug.
Phillies have a great down to earth owner with very deep pockets. Have seen him walking around the stadium talking to fans. GM & coach are doing an outstanding job. Hard to believe that my bums hit a total of 9; home runs in two consecutive home games against the great Braves team.
Small correction/improvement: @ThePhillyCaptain is the one who got all the fans to cheer Turner on when he was in his slump. All the props go to him to getting us to lift the guy up.
It does something to these players when 45,000 ppl are screaming at the top of their lungs. Turner is a great example of that. Bryce says it all the time, he wants to give the fans what they deserve.. A win 🏆
Huge Phil's fan. I spent thousands last year to take my brother and myself to the world series only for them to get no hits. So disappointing. I was mad all winter. But they got me back. Hard not to love this team.
Baseball is terrified of the Phillies and for good reason! Not only do you have to face what I believe is the best team in baseball, but you are facing our fans at the same time! The players feed off of us and use us to dismantle teams, the braves averaged 2 runs a game in the NLDS… 5 of them were game 2! After that we smoked them out of Philly, Arizona might have swept the Dodgers, but they are about to enter a place where the amount of noise is unbearable compared to LA.
I got goosebumps watching this video. It’s great to see some recognition for our long hated fan bases. People on the outside need to understand that we don’t do it for them, we do it for OUR TEAMS. Our guys can feel the love and the intense energy that pours out for them. Really incredible sometimes. It’s one of the good things about Philadelphia.
Philly sports fans are the best in the world. Last week newly signed Eagles CB Bradley Robey went to the Phil's game and was stunned to hear Eagles chants at a baseball game. Even the MLS Union sold out all their games this year.
As a lifelong Reds fan I have so much respect for the Phillies, their fans, and owners. Our owners are so fucking cheap. Anyway, I'm rooting for you guys and am so happy that Castillanos is going off with you guys. Anyway, destroy the DB's and then go on to take your WS ring!
To be clear.. I'm not sure how many people questioned signing Harper here in philly. I'm sure there were a few people, but most of the fan base was ABSOLUTELY on board.
Not a baseball guy, but as someone who grew up always hearing about the pirates and Yankees it is awesome seeing philly gettin love outside of the birds
I think it also helps that the Eagles are really good. The city has 2 amazing teams to rally behind and it's a massive morale booster. Ask NY how the Giants, Jets Mets and Yanks are hanging lol.
If the Eagles were trash, Phillies would be the only show in town. It’s actually even more amazing that both are great & playing at the same time. It definitely doesn’t help the Phillies that the Eagles are also good, but thankfully, it just heightens everything.

Phillies fans really are underated. Arguably one of the best baseball fanbases despite many losing seasons.
I'm not even a Phillies fan but I will admit they are the best fanbase in baseball right now
Great video man. Thank you for shinning a light on one of the greatest fanbases in sports
That Ray's playoff attendance is astounding. That looks like a crowd in late August when your team is 28 games out of first place. If I were the owner I'd say "If we mean that little to you I'm moving the team."
Yeah I was rooting for them to keep their team but after that I feel like St Pete isn’t it. They need to go to Tampa or leave Florida
@@adanalyst6925 they need a better park in a more accessible location. The Phillies have good enough freeway access but also have mass transit to the sports complex. I would ask what is the sports break down in Florida? I suspect Rays compete with the Marlins for fans more than the Phillies do with the Steelers.
I'm a Mets fan and I agree with this video I give respect when respect is due and the fan base in Philly is definitely like no other in all of the big 4 American sports. They went in on Harper Which is a bigger fan favorite and elite name than either Mets ownership has ever invested in Since 86'. Good luck this month Phils.

What’s that spell? A team that had the highest payroll ever, and somehow couldn’t figure out how to improve on the team’s record from the previous season.
@@stevebabiak6997Typical classless Philly fan! The guy pays you a complement, throws you support, and you crap on him man? LOW CLASS
High praise 👏🏻. But not strictly true? Wasn't Bobby Bonilla a big time baller when Mets went in for him. Not sure about the second time around 🤐 But he was elite level on Tony La Russa baseball game on the Sega in '95.
@@stevebabiak6997 😂 you Ahole!!! .... It's true though unfortunately I tell the truth about my team must root for them because it's my territory grew up just outside of shea . And so I suffer.....
@@brendandickinson1101 Oh god Bobby Bo 😔
Went to NLDS game 3 in Philly this past Wednesday and it was INCREDIBLE. So much fun and such a great experience, the whole crowd was electric.
Amazing feeling that sticks with you for life
Man I wish my Dad were still alive. Phils fan his entire life. So glad he got to see them win in 1980. He would go to Connie Mack stadium as a kid and sneak in or watch through holes in the fence. Died in 1998. He would absolutely love this team. Perfect for the blue-collar city that Philly is.
Philly fans are getting the rep they deserve. They're the best sports fans in the world.
Thankyou for this gem. Thankyou for also giving the Phils and the fans their much deserved credit.
New Siders arena is dumb!
@@billnolte8644 Yes that bat slam was iconic. It was like a weight lifted off of him. I also liked Kyle Schwarber's absolute bomb in the NLCS.
Same here. I was 8, but that call, and my dad's reaction - I'll never ever forget.
as a philadelphian and philly sports fan, thank you show much for finally saying that we aren't all bad and one of the best fan bases. yeah there's some bad people and bad memories, but doesn't every fanbase have that group that's bad? anyways i enjoyed your video and i hope you have a great day :)
”We all know that if the Phillies played during the day no one would come to work.” Man speaks facts only
The best fans in baseball...Harper and Turner ...castellano..swarber... worth every penny on contracts...GM dombroski ...😮
I am a teacher at a local Philly private school and we schedule events around the Phillie's playoff season because we know no one will show up. That's just how it goes.
As a 50 year old Philly fan born and raised in delco .this atmosphere has been this way for all four sports.when the flyers are rolling nobody wanted to come to Philly .other teams were actually scared to come here..we have always got a bad rap for how much we love our sports..if the eagles lose a game it stays with the city the entire week..
shoutout my fellow born and raised delco neighbors 🫡
“Unlike Agholor”
Shout-out to the Philly Captain, the Phandemic Crew and, most importantly, Luke!
Finally. Someone is giving us our flowers.
CBP is an awesome spot to watch a game
Big ups 2 Philly !! Coming from a Yankee fan!!
Phillies have a great down to earth owner with very deep pockets. Have seen him walking around the stadium talking to fans. GM & coach are doing an outstanding job. Hard to believe that my bums hit a total of 9; home runs in two consecutive home games against the great Braves team.
Watching the phillies play is so fun. so good for baseball.
Phillies and Eagles fans will always be hard edge and I am damn proud of that.
And you will get dunked on for that. Proud of that!
Can't even put into words the buzz in this city right now for this squad, we are on fire. 8 more...
We are fuckin nuts here for our teams.
Small correction/improvement: @ThePhillyCaptain is the one who got all the fans to cheer Turner on when he was in his slump. All the props go to him to getting us to lift the guy up.
It wasn't actually a reporter mentioned it 3 days before the captain said it
My guy Jack Fritz!!@@brandan7095
Mets fan here and as much as i hate to say it Phillies fans go off every post season. They crazy.
I'm so PROUD to be from Philly... Finally ❤
Middleton is basically the best kind of owner any fanbase would want. Doesnt care about the cost just wants to win
Hard not to love this team.
philly has the best fans. even if the team is bad like the flyers right now, there will still be fans there
Baseball is terrified of the Phillies and for good reason!
As a season ticket holder for the Phillies, Sixers and Eagles.. your video is on point!
Philly sports fans are the best in the world. Last week newly signed Eagles CB Bradley Robey went to the Phil's game and was stunned to hear Eagles chants at a baseball game. Even the MLS Union sold out all their games this year.
It's still wild to me that there are team owners who make it their goal not to spend money. Like bro if you aren't in it to win why be in it at all?
love to see my fellow Desis making content ESPECIALLY ABOUT THE PHILS LFG
WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE FIGHTINS
As a lifelong Reds fan I have so much respect for the Phillies, their fans, and owners. Our owners are so fucking cheap. Anyway, I'm rooting for you guys and am so happy that Castillanos is going off with you guys. Anyway, destroy the DB's and then go on to take your WS ring!
Reds fans still show out tho! been to GAB twice in the last couple years as a Phillies fan and the reds fans represent pretty well.
Proud to be a Phillies fan
I kinda envy the passion that Phillies fans show their team
You should not be proud💀
Glad to see us getting the respect we deserve as a fanbase! Thanks
FINALLY
To be clear.. I'm not sure how many people questioned signing Harper here in philly. I'm sure there were a few people, but most of the fan base was ABSOLUTELY on board.
I live in south jersey but am a die hard Philly sports fan we have the best fans
I'm going to game 2 of the NLCS!!! I have no plans on being on able to talk the next day. LOVE MY PHILLIES!!! LETS GOOOOOO. RING THE BELL!!!!
As a Phillies fan from the area I want you to know, I appreciate this video brotha. Thank you for this video. Said!!!
Drum line Elmo the Philly legend
Not a baseball guy, but as someone who grew up always hearing about the pirates and Yankees it is awesome seeing philly gettin love outside of the birds
Great production and awesome video my guy!
All I have to say 06-11 the crowd was just as electric as it is now
great video dude I would've thought this had way more views if I watched blindly
And 76ers
@@jacob45415 Sixers get our hopes up way too high, only fail! The owners only care about the Washington Football Team & Building a new arena in Chinatown
@@lovesgucci1 Regardless of what the media may say - Philadelphia is a football town and the Phillies are second in that race - and I'm a Raiders fan who lives in Philly
If your a Phillies fan in philadelphia, it was cheaper to fly to atlanta and back, go to the game, get a hotel for a night then to go to a game in Philly
Got my game 2 NLCS tickets!! I’ve been a Phils fan since 2003 when my childhood idol, Jim Thome, signed with the Phils. Lived only an hour from the Phils’ AAA team in Scranton. Got to see Utley, Howard, Madson, Victorino. All those guys. But this 2023 team is something else. Incredible.
I’m gonna stop watching this at 1:28. Philly isn’t loading the stadium because of last year dude that’s just what we do. We’ve been doing it for years for every sports team. It means more in Philly. The truth is that philly always packs the stadium not just only the WS last year
We are psychotic nuts jobs who let our sports teams dictate our emotional state…and I wear that badge with astute honor! 😂😂😂
Going to a Phillies playoff game is a crazy experience
Hey Samarth, this is Rohan speaking. I was born in Philly. Let's hope the Phillies can get back to the World Series!!!
I wish there was a love button because like doesn’t do this video justice. Thank you so much for making this video, would love to see a follow up if we can win the whole thing brother! You’ve earned my sub, sharing this video and hope this comment helps the Algorithm! God Speed mate keep up the great content!
This has been going on since 2007. Obviously they didn’t make the playoffs from 2012-2021 but the hype has been there like this every playoff game
I have the utmost respect for John Middleton. If you don't care about winning, you shouldn't own a team. Middleton wants to win.
I'm sorry but there is a section of Philly fans that really ruin the reputation of the city, even though it is not a reflection of the entire fanbase.
The phillies stadium also has one if the lowest seating numbers in the league but you couldn't r tell by all the noise lol ❤
I don't care what anyone says or thinks, Philly sports fans are the greatest fans on earth, GO PHILLIES!!!!!!!!
How abt Pennsylvania in general Steelers penguins etc Penn state ?
@@jacob45415 What about the Pirates fans? THOSE are the best fans in the world! Any fan base that shows up year in & year out even though your team sucks, they are true fanatics. Its EASY to be a fan when your team is playing well and successful. We Patriots fans are going through this now! We have a lot of young fans who have never experienced losing before, and they are pissing themselves! LOL
@@inconnu4961 honestly pirates fans might be the most loyal fan base out of any team they never are negative and most ppl just feel bad for them most of the times lol
👏 thank you for this - Phillies Fan
Then you got Houston who not only sells out their park, but also increase other teams ticket sales on the road just to boo them
*WE DONT GET HYPE, WE STAY HYPE*
Also, this fan base embraces a villain role. If you call them awful, it’s a badge of honor for them.
