They’re gonna be tough too, but they tend to struggle in postseason while the Phillies play up, gonna be interesting to see how they do with Cole + their trade deadline pieces
But think about how they've gotten most wins too. How much damage the bottom of the order is doing. Schwarber still hasn't gotten hot yet, trea turner isn't even playing right now cus his injury, I don't think bryce harper is playing anywhere near his potential, marsh who started out hot hasn't been hitting exceptionally well the past 4-6 weeks, and castellanos has so far been hitting under .200 most of the season. The top notch performances from the starting pitching is really helping a ton rack up those wins, and the phillies have such an unbelievable amount of depth, they'll go out and get wins with half the lineup being rookies and bench players, and some of those guys are really playing exceptional too. I honestly would be shocked if this team burns out this year especially with their chemistry and coming up just short the past couple years, I think they have a real shot of finishing with 110 wins easily at least 100. I'd be way more worried about them having a bye week in the playoffs, that seemed to knock everyone off their game last year. Also as a side note, soto and dominguez need to go. They only cost the phillies wins and are taking up roster spots.
If this keeps up, and Trea continues doing Trea type things when he returns, you could possibly make a legit argument for both shortstops to be all stars!!😂

Yankees and phillies are tied neck and neck to me. Both aren't fully healthy but still producing. Once gerrit cole, jasson dominguez and Johnathan loaisiga comeback for the yankees they'll be even better which is scary
hahaha. hilarious. the Yankees are a half game *behind* Cleveland, and the Phils are a half game ahead for the best record in the entire league. make sure to ignore them :)
MLBs team with the best record (NOT the best team) has played a schedule full of cupcakes and, by far, the fewest games against winning teams. Phillies will come crashing back to earth soon enough. So far the best teams this season have been the Yankees, Guardians, and Orioles (in no particular order, as there isn’t much separating them but I like Cleveland since they’ll eventually get Kwan and Gavin Williams back, and have had the best bullpen in baseball by a wide margin).
Crazy how it doesnt really feel like the offense is firing on all cylinders yet. Despite the way it feels, 7/9 of the starters have > 100 ops+ and 2 of the bench guys Sosa and clemens are going off too. Sosa has 1.4 WAR in 62 ABs, that pace is higher than turners was before his injury. Crazy. Clemens has 10 rbis in 30 ABs.
As Phillies fan and not even I saw this coming. I expected to team the float around 500 for the majority of the year and then go on a tear once june or July hit. And of course Piss in Atlanta's Cheerios in the process because it's personal. But holy hell. The breaking records not seeing sense John's 93 team. Having one of the best bullpens not just in the National League but in all of MLB. Ranger has been solid for years and has always been a goodthird or fourth day option. But he's turned into the team's ace, zac and Nola or great as always. Trey Turner's injury hasn't even slowed the team down. And Cody Clements is done a great job stepping in when he's needed. But the daycare Jesus God. The only thing that I would say that's been a little disappointing is kyle Schwarber but June is here so in a few weeks this might not even mean shit.
I was born and raised in North Philadelphia. Walked to Connie mack stadium. And I know what can happen when it goes like we can't lose. This stupid weekend games in England might just hurt the Phillies. All that time difference might just hurt. Get back to the states and one day to get back to our time and go and play in Boston. I don't like it. If it doesn't affect the Phillies players I will be impressed and Surprised
These guys are for real...they think they can beat anyone, any pitcher, any team, on any given day! They love to play together and they pick each other up when one or more have an off night/day.
As a ridiculously obsessed philly fan, our strength is our depth. Sosa, Pache, Merrifeild, etc. also the “weak schedule” is stupid. We have the best record for a reason.. we had a weak schedule and took advantage. ALSO it’s not even that weak of a schedule. It’s easy to look at it and say oh yeah it’s easy but you need to watch the games. We destroyed very good pitchers. Crochet, Berrios, and Edwin Diaz didn’t stand a chance against us.
I didn’t even mention the depth because you guys have infinite strengths lmao. And I agree, just beat who you play, it’s not their fault their schedule hasn’t been the hardest in the league, I only mentioned it because I would get a ton of hate if I didn’t! Just trying to stay objective!
You said, “ the bullpen only needs to throw 1 inning if your pitcher goes into the 7th and you t have a lead at home,” the bullpen would still need to throw 2 innings
The Philies are really good, they have a kind of grit that the Dodgers don't have. Either way from 2000 to 2023 only 6 times did the team with the best regular season record go on to win the WS. You just have to make it to October and then it's a different ball game.
Agreed, however the Phillies have proven over the past few seasons they play well in the postseason, obviously they haven’t finished the job but they’ve looked good under the bright lights
Ranger for Cy Young & Gold Glove. Bohm for MVP. Hoffman for Rolaids relief pitcher or whatever it’s called 😂. This team is finally clicking early and playing like the 08-11 Phillies.
idk man greg soto has a 4.88 ERA in 89 appearances with the phillies. Tigers have a really good pitching coach, who has developed many great arms. Thats why Chafin came back to detroit and likely why he has struggled with the phillies
I think that the schedule makers knew that the phillieS in the playoffs were the most exiting so they gave them an easy schedule to boost baseballs stock
The schedule is a lot of bad teams to start, but they are in an OK division with the Braves and the mediocre Mets & Nats... and still need to play good teams around baseball throughout the year. It doesn't work that way.
Man still on this schedule bs? give it up. You’re mad the phillies are the best team in baseball rn. Yes we are destroying bad teams but everyone else are gonna play them. Y’all are just haters and will never accept it
Ok Nola, Wheeler and Suarez have been outstanding so far, but have you ever watched Taijuan Walker pitching? He is the embodiment of a ceremonial first pitch or a run waiting to happen. The only reason he's still in the rotation is because his contract makes him unmovable. Turnbull is showing signs of decline, given his limited number of innings pitched in the past seasons due to injuries. Soto, well, is just Soto and we have a Church for that. I hope Dominguez will find his game when it matters, but as a whole the Phillies pitching department clearly needs some reinforcement, unless you believe Covey and Marte can make a difference when and if they'll be back. The Phillies are a great team, don't get me wrong, and it would be amazing to seex them win the World Series, it's just that after watching them losing to the Astros and the Diamondbacks, two entirely different organizations, I started thinking that they are simply rushing things, in a way that I'm afraid will get them close to the promised land without actually let them through the gate.
As a Phillies fan, the biggest thing that scares me is the offense. The Phillies blow a 3-2 lead in the nlcs last year because the Phillies couldn’t hit in game 6 and 7. Imo the Phillies need to add another bay or 2 at the trade deadline. But this is the best team in baseball. The dodgers are two too heavy and their pitching staff is coming off of injuries and havnt pitch more than 120 innings ( glasnow) in a season. The braves are a stud team, must respect for them. Sale trade work out for them ( of course it does) and arcana and Olsen hasn’t hit and they are 29-18. But the Phillies have their number in the postseason. And of course the last 2 nl pennants winner have been 6 seeds who caught fire( phillies in 2022 and d back in 2023).
Phillies do have the Braves postseason number though, the national league is going to be a fun fun race for the rest of the season and especially in October! Enjoy it!
Phillies blew the NLCS because of Rob Thomson!! Remember when the DBacks told reporters that they weren’t going to give Schwarber & Harper anything to hit (to get yo Bohm in cleanup?) Bohm was was hitting into double plays & should’ve been moved down the lineup & when reporters asked Rob about the DBacks comments & if he would move Bohm, Rob just chuckled & said No! How about throwing Kimbrel out every night (wasn’t able to do that all season)?! Or letting Rojas bat in game 7, bases loaded, 2 outs - but brings in Cave for the last out of game 7! There were more but a lot of his stubbornness hurt the team!!
Where’s the guardians respect? Tied for best record in the AL? Best record against teams over .500??? I don’t think they’re the best but gotta be up there
They are up there, when I was listing those other teams at the beginning that was for preseason rankings! Guardians have been shocking people all season!
@@peskytalk I do think the Phillies are the best team in the league. They don’t play a team over .500 until Orioles on June 14th. They are dominating the teams put in front of them. Guardians just need to stay consistent to get into these convos. Media will not recognize them.
@@stevenseelig945 totally glossed over brewers that’s my bad. They still have lowest SOS in the MLB. Phillies are still a very impressive team. Bullpen is crazy
they're apparently not from a big enough city to be considered good. which is odd considering, as of right now, they're 0.5 games ahead of the Yankees for the best record in the AL, and 0.5 games behind the Phils for the best record in the MLB lol
The schedule argument isn’t really a helpful stat since 75% of the league has a bad record, and the Phillies are responsible for a portion of the losing record their opponents have.

Yankees and phillies are tied neck and neck to me. Both aren't fully healthy but still producing. Once gerrit cole, jasson dominguez and Johnathan loaisiga comeback for the yankees they'll be even better which is scary
Loaiaiga cooked I fear :(
hahaha. hilarious. the Yankees are a half game *behind* Cleveland, and the Phils are a half game ahead for the best record in the entire league. make sure to ignore them :)
Braves fans must be so pumped. Looks like you're going to avoid that crippling first round bye.
Go freakin’ Phillies my home team is the best team in baseball and I agree that they are unstoppable.GO PHILLIES❤
MLBs team with the best record (NOT the best team) has played a schedule full of cupcakes and, by far, the fewest games against winning teams. Phillies will come crashing back to earth soon enough. So far the best teams this season have been the Yankees, Guardians, and Orioles (in no particular order, as there isn’t much separating them but I like Cleveland since they’ll eventually get Kwan and Gavin Williams back, and have had the best bullpen in baseball by a wide margin).
dude. wow. someone actually admitting Cleveland is good. didn't seem acceptable here lol
They’re really not firing yet, you can tell there’s like 2 higher gears on that offense that they’ll reach probably come summer time
As Phillies fan and not even I saw this coming.
I gotchu. You probably have the best baseball videos out there by the way. Just came across your channel and am loving it
Thank you so much man! They’ll keep getting better and better too 🤝
You said, “ the bullpen only needs to throw 1 inning if your pitcher goes into the 7th and you t have a lead at home,” the bullpen would still need to throw 2 innings
As a Phillies fan, this video made me happy after HARPER AND SCHWARBER 🥲
Phillies are the dawgs of baseball, these dudes always play hard
The Philies are really good, they have a kind of grit that the Dodgers don't have. Either way from 2000 to 2023 only 6 times did the team with the best regular season record go on to win the WS. You just have to make it to October and then it's a different ball game.
Agreed, however the Phillies have proven over the past few seasons they play well in the postseason, obviously they haven’t finished the job but they’ve looked good under the bright lights
@@peskytalk True, looks like this is the year if they go all the way. Orioles and Phillies could be a real exciting matchup in the WS.
LETS GO PHILLS!
Ranger for Cy Young & Gold Glove. Bohm for MVP. Hoffman for Rolaids relief pitcher or whatever it’s called 😂. This team is finally clicking early and playing like the 08-11 Phillies.
This team feels even better than the 2011 squad and that's scary.
My favorite team is does have the best rotation in baseball Let’s go Phillies
Losing out to Yamamoto was probably the best thing they did
idk man greg soto has a 4.88 ERA in 89 appearances with the phillies. Tigers have a really good pitching coach, who has developed many great arms. Thats why Chafin came back to detroit and likely why he has struggled with the phillies
Not to mention the ballpark in Philly is very hit or friendly compared to detroit
We all know the Phillies are the best
OF is hitting 220 back up catcher 105 Infield all 1st round picks
Glad the Redsox are getting this kinda video!
It’s been a long time coming to finally admit the Boston Red Sox are mlbs power team.
Y’all are just haters and will never accept it
Brother OREON KECKERING LMAOOOOOOOOO butchered the poor man's name
being a fan of baseball for decade...win 100 game doesnt guarantee will get you ring...we seen enough already....
Agreed, but too many people are sleeping on this squad imo
Who is watching this after Soto and Seranthony left 😢
Agree fully on T Walker. One holds one's breath every time he goes out.
Nick got it going a bit last night, homerun and several good plays in the field.
Good for him, tell your loved ones you love them
As a Phillies fan, the biggest thing that scares me is the offense.
Enjoy it!
@@peskytalk 100 percent
Casty might have limited range, but what he can get to he will catch.
The New York Yankees would like to have a word. Don't make us break out 2009.
With how much talent the White Sox have, i can see them winning it all this year. Just an elite squad.
Definitely next year if not this one 100%
White Sox have played so many games against winning teams because every other team in the ALC has a winning record.
@@jackaerni1049Not quite correct. Our next series against a team over .500 is Milwaukee the series before we go to London
Orion Kerkering is pronounced "Oh-Ryan Ker-Kring" by the way. Kid's a beast.
Anyone else watching this after a devastating loss to the A’s?
being a bit biased but yeah, phillies are a top 3 team this season. I think orioles are very good as against good rostered teams they are very good.
Well the Orioles are a great team too
Talked about fielding but didn't mention the best fielder on the team, Ranger Suarez. For shame.
4:47 bro butchered Orion Kettering's name
as a phillies fan there was no doubt
The schedule argument isn’t really a helpful stat since 75% of the league has a bad record, and the Phillies are responsible for a portion of the losing record their opponents have.
Calling trea turner a defensive liability is actually wild. 😂
Lmao the Yankees actually clear those bums
Doing this without Trea is scary
Very scary
Go phillies 🐐🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
According to the broadcasters it’s pronounced Oh-Ryan Kirk-er-ring
i’m sorry did you say the “former” best catcher in baseball? you mean the current best catcher right?
As a Braves fan, the Phills certainly scare me!
I’d rather face the braves than the giants
The Phillies are exciting!
Oh-Rye-Yun Ker-Ker-Ing
So like O Ryan? It’s spelt so weird I had literally no clue my man 😂
@@peskytalk Lol, yeah. I enjoyed your effort.
I figured it was like onion lmao
Whose here after they sweeped the dodgers
JT IS ON A 15 GAME HITTING STREAK HAHAHAHAHA
GO PHIS BABY
