Man, I had a severe brain injury in 2017, lost alot of my memory. I was 190lbs before the brain injury. Rehab over a year, learning to walk and talk again. Meds, depression my weight jumped to 250. Decided to join my gym but felt foolish not knowing what to do anymore while in there. YOU ARE AWESOME! You've given me hope again in myself that I've not had since 2017 I've dropped 20lbs in 3 weeks my max and reps have improved greatly! Please continue your videos. They're helping people even when you don't think they may be and you're wasting your time. Please keep with the advice. Never give up and stay strong physically and mentally! Thanks brother!
Great exercises🤣💀 He is just throwing weight around and doing loads of junk volume with such bad exercise selection. You surely have not touched a dumbbell before in your life for you to be saying that.
You won't believe how long I went through life, listening to idiots around me or online with different weird ways to train or how it properly works. This guy is doing it right.
It's easy to go through life when everything goes right, but when you don't know that you're going to make it through the end of the day and you do, Congratulations! you are the Hero of your own fucking story. - Ryan
@Foritsa Grandolteam Funny because I've only told that story to people when we're face to face. If you'd like me to prove it and show you my DD 214 and my retirement ID you're more than welcome to meet me face to face. I'm not hard to find and I promise I won't run away.
I just discovered, and Subscribed, to Ryan's channel, and I'm happy I stumbled upon it. So far, I'm happy to have realized: - Ryan's a no b.s. kinda guy. - He obviously knows his sh*t, after trying things throughout the years and figuring out what works best. - He doesn't care what people think, and despite this, he has zero ego, unlike a lot of bodybuilders (**cough, O'Hearn, cough, cough) - so refreshing! - He doesn't sacrifice weight for form and he's got great control of his lifts, avoiding swinging, etc. - Dude works out with his shirt on!!! Not like some poseurs or IG wannabes. Looking forward to more vids!
I haven’t bought the 30 day workout yet, but have been adding and incorporating exercises from these videos, and the results are starting to show. Three weeks ago I started adding this new mindset, from your videos, and I’ve already started getting compliments at the gym. I’m a retired soldier and have worked out all my life. After incorporating these exercises, I feel like I got fit by a happy accident. Thanks!
thanks for making the videos straight to the point and no fluff. A lot of videos out there have fancy ass intros, heavy sponsorships plugs, and way too much noise. The message gets lost. These are great, keep em coming.
I'm one of the guys that after my heart attack at 61, three years ago, still worries a bit if I'm going to wake up in the morning, before I go to bed each night. It sucks. Like I have mentioned before....your vids and workouts have CHANGED MY LIFE....I am healthier, stronger (like you wouldn't believe, results are crazy) , and have a much higher level of self esteem. Your workouts are beyond tremendous, and I will press on continuing to absorb your wisdom. Can't thank you enough. Keep well and lets all get growing!!
Your solid advice is only overshadowed by your dry sarcastic wit! I just did this and cannot believe the mind/muscle connection I have rn! What a great pump and my shoulder doesn't hurt. I am 43 and too many years of lifting with my ego instead of my head has left permanent injuries to my shoulder/bicep/rotator cuff area. So bench presses can never be heavy and I still can't target my chest that well. THESE WERE GAME CHANGERS! Thank you!
As a man who's been obese nearly all his life. These video's have been AWESOME for me. I know its been nearly a year since posted but I'm glad i found this... I was 295lbs on April 29th 2021... Today June 10 2021 I'm 260lbs. Ive got a long journey to go I know, but I'm a 32 year old dad and... well... I wanna live to see my kids graduate! thank you for the content!
So listen! Dude awesome videos! I am one the few! Been fight tumors since 2011 multiple surgeries every time I get in decent shape another surgery! My wife and I are one team... when I got sick she said enough! We where both 250lbs... she has been down to 175 me well I’m stilll at 200 ! I don’t want sympathy... I can handle this disease... I take chemo twice a day but your videos are what I’m looking for! I work in the oil and gas so my mornings start at 3:00 am and finsh at 6-8:00 depending on the days events... I’m taking advantage of being laid off all year! And took a part time job! I want to build muscle and loose my stomach! I’m 51 and want to get back into my life again! Keep up the good work! Arms and chest are where I’m at!
Ryan thinks outside the box because there's not a box made that can contain him. Spent 27 years in combat arms and special ops and I'm sore in places I forgot I had. By far the best strength coach on UA-cam and I love the straight faced insulting humor I enjoyed while in uniform. If you're not training to anger, you're wrong. Thanks, brother. You would've been a welcomed member of any of my teams.
Today’s workout: Barrel press w 3 sec hold at the bottom 20 reps 3 sets Decline press dips, shirt off 20 reps 3 sets High, medium and low cable flys 20 reps each 3 reps Dumbbell pullovers with pre set (coffin press) 20 reps 3 sets Good luck boys
Someone just told me about you today sir. Sorry it took me this long to find out about you. Not just a beast but after watching 4 of your vids you understand life struggles as well. And you don't flex on everything you do. I respect that and that's why subscribing to you today. My name is David I'm 36yrs old and just started this gym life. Tired of being heavy. I want arms hence I was introduced to you by a mountain of a man named Roy at my new gym Impact Fitness. Thank you sir for being humble and having a passion to share with us your sound doctrine. God bless you and your family sir.
I appreciate and thank you for all your fitness tips and workout videos. I’m 62 and your videos have helped me with my form and mind/muscle connection.
I bought the garage workout and have just completed the first week. Wow that was intense! Great workout feel tired but great. Definitely worth the money!!
Love how concise your content is. Videos are short and to the point yet very informative. Love it!! And your humor is 👌🏽 remind me of my college strength coach
Holy $#!% that explanation of proper form for flys was so easy to understand and made me realize I am doing it wrong (or at least not maximizing the movement).
during my time I really started getting passionate about health, wealth, fitness and wellness overall. Bodybuilding became a passion of mine. Now, Im a small framed ectomorph and has always been challenging to gain or maintain weight. Anyway, since I came home march 2021 I had initially struggled with being able to eat food (i.e. Diet change, nutritional imbalances etc). That being said. You're awesome man. I love your content. much love and respect
Perfect timing! Was just sitting down to plan out my chest day tonight, then this video pops up! Done and done, bout to get to work! Amazing content as always brother.
Guy cracks me up. Some great content of movements I’ve yet to try and have a logic anyone with some experience can tell. Definitely starting to use these tips for the chesticles
Tried one tricep workouts combined it with bicep 🙄.... I feel like started at gym alover again😖 outstanding pump learning to put my ego to one side and do bizarre exercises that force you to go lighter but targets the muscle guy's a legend💪
I've been overweight and fat for 30 years. Lost 40kg last 12 months and now keen to build muscle...age 52. Your vids are awesome, thanks for the tips and motivation.
I have to say I love trying your workouts so here goes ( forget Katherine the Great has to do with the czarina ) at my heaviest I was 475 @ 5'8" about 8 years ago I got my act together after being obese for over 20 years, I went back to the gym I've tried them all GVT ( German Volume Training ) to Low Reps heavy weight I have to say your workouts seem to work fantastic, current day still 5'8" lol but now 215 at 53 years of age, I not only need the gym physically I need it mentally. Keep up the great work and keep up the vids.
Mate, you are seriously taking the boredom out of "international bench press Mondays" and the tunes fit perfectly. I signed up to your course because of the shear 'realness' of your approach. great stuff man.
For over half a year before I hired a powerlifting coach I trained like Ryan. Well not as hard but as hard as I could push myself. To the point of failure everytime. He's the reason ill be competing next year in competion. From a backwoods girl with the dreams of big guns thanks dude.
so the barrel press is epic! best chest connection, for me , ever! It hurt so good , with the 3sec pause in the stretch and hard pausing flex at the top, that I decided to try a similar variation with my incline and decline..... it hurts to breathe and I love it. Keep up the killer content. Also the dips burn doing them in between sets and focusing on pressing g forward at the top. Gonna stick with these awhile
The barbell chest with just bodyweight and legs elavated I can tell already is going to be a game changer for me. I've tried countless chest exercises over the years and I feel like a tool for not figuring out this one sooner. I mean, the barbell in my squat rack has been in the perfect position for twenty fuckin' years and I never noticed!? Lol. Thanks for all the great advice dude. Appreciate it.
Ryan, man I love your videos. I've learned a ton and the most important thing I've learned is that somedays you just don't connect with certain lifts. Tried cable flyes today in at least 3 configurations and my front delts kept taking over. Switches to a juggernaut press with 3 second pauses at the center contraction and I thought my sternum would explode. Thanks for sharing your experience and teaching us to think outside the box.
I'm glad that it's ok to do things a little differently to feel a good contraction I gave up the ego a few years ago and I just focus on quality which has madee feel better
My fitness goals are to look like this guy. I can't wait, I've grown to really love and appreciate the gym even though I hated working out when I was younger.
I just finished school to be a Physical Therapist Assistant, but I trust you so much more than I trust my knowledge from school haha. I have slight scoliosis with a lateral curve to the right and right rib hump, which throws off my glenohumeral rhythm on the right side. Got any advice? Also, can you go over how important flexibility is in growth and range of motion to perform exercises properly and for the best result?
Chest has been difficult to grow but with these videos finally getting a decent pump. Helps to not go through the motions as Ryan emphasises heavily on intensity
A great combo that I throw in on chest day that blows up my triceps, as well as tears up my chest, is to start with the DB bench pullovers to failure, and then move the incline up halfway and immediately do a set of DB French press to failure. I do around 4 sets. It's brutal. It works.
Going to add these variations to my workout. Especially the dip version. I thought I couldn't do dips because of lack of equipment for it...but you just showed me how to do it with a bar, bench and stands...hell yeah!
Awesome content and material. Thanks Ryan for your help. I appreciate how you get right to the point. Not endless scientific babble like others. Straight to the movement why its beneficial and how to do it. Keep up the good work.
Do any hinging motion to warm up your lower back. So really light ez bar below the knees pulls. You could also do lower back reverse crunches. Legs light extensions and or body weight squats. For glutes just take a band and do “girl” exercises. So kickbacks and kickouts
Only two people ever has done the pullover correctly as I have seen in my life 1st Arnold Schwarzenegger and this guy.......u will walk around as if ur chest is twice as big once u incorporated the correct way to do a pullover .......almost no one drop their hips correctly.......but he is showing the correct way.......ur the man !!!
As always great content , also I liked the dip variation on the bar . It makes perfect sense for the shoulders not being used and taking over the movement
Always been surprised more people don't also do STRAIGHT BAR Dips. So much better connection with the lower Pecs and Serratus with MUCH LESS RISK to the shoulder joint itself (speaking from the personal experience of someone who has torn his rotator cuffs more than once) versus Parallel Dips.
I ve been all machine but tomorrow shit ends . Moving along to the dumbbells now and squat rack . I thought I would get lighter in weight but the fat is all about gone , first it went upper body then between the legs and that muscle up inner groin came out for the first time in 50 years 😂. Then shoulders and traps grew over winter and summer and arms with . I’m at the last little bit around my belly button . I’m going to make it and I hope others do as well . It’s been 20 months at least 5 days a week but when I started the first 3 months I was getting all kinds of comments from people . It takes some time but it’s worth it to feel like this . I ll go on 2-3 week spurts during covid where I ll get up drink a few eggs go work out , come home do something productive , take a nap , get up and work out again , eat and rest and a lot of the motivation comes from watching these vids . Sometimes I get up and go but not tonight .
Ryan Humiston starting to go through my divorce and these videos really help with focusing on the future. Plus finally having all kinds of time to get bigger. Thank you!!

Added barrel presses to my chest routine today to switch it up a bit. Solid. Thanks for the great content!
That cable flys tip was great, Thanks dude.
