Child birth changes a woman, completely. The birth of my daughter signified my own rebirth in a way. She is and will always be the best thing to happen to me. God has blessed me through her. Every day.

I wasn't thrilled at first.... But the song kinda crept into a little corner of my mind. I had another listen a few months later and I am now completely addicted. Such a powerful, feminine, glorious account of the magic of mommyhood :-) Brody has matured and really grown into herself, I simply love this version of her.

Yeah. The album is called "Diploid love" where diploid is a cell that has 23 pairs of chromosomes. It is the fetus. The specific organelle is the mitochondria that is only passed down through the mother. Besides all the science stuff and nuclear disasters humans can be boiled down to the relationship with our mothers.
I will be honest though, the drum track on this song is irritably simple and becomes monotonous very quickly.

But I get how she *feels* like it is, because the music industry is more interested in the thoughts and feelings of men than women, and it wants to sexualize female songwriters and performers all the time. Off the top of my head, I can't think of one song depicting pregnancy/childbirth from a woman's/mother's perspective, but I can think of several from a man's/father's. You don't have to laugh at people just because you don't agree with them. Brody Dalle probably does not approve, man.

This album made me get back into the local circuit at 33 yrs old - I love you Brody, and all the inspiration you've given me over the years!
