There is only new experiences. There is review but no end. Time and consciousness work through experience. This getting older thing is only material. The body might show on energetic levels experiences not just age. An aura. I've never seen one. Though I've felt things. And seen colors behind my eye lids. Vibrations. Electronic vibrational voice singing a song. Introducing itself to me. Child birth changes a woman, completely. The birth of my daughter signified my own rebirth in a way. She is and will always be the best thing to happen to me. God has blessed me through her. Every day.
I wasn't thrilled at first.... But the song kinda crept into a little corner of my mind. I had another listen a few months later and I am now completely addicted. Such a powerful, feminine, glorious account of the magic of mommyhood :-) Brody has matured and really grown into herself, I simply love this version of her.
+Erin Walsh I had the same reaction to it as well, but now this song haunts me - Oh the joy, I'm in love - perfect way for me to express my love for my daughter
+Jasmyn K Yeah. The album is called "Diploid love" where diploid is a cell that has 23 pairs of chromosomes. It is the fetus. The specific organelle is the mitochondria that is only passed down through the mother. Besides all the science stuff and nuclear disasters humans can be boiled down to the relationship with our mothers.
Lol. Get your facts straight. Shirley was never ever part of Spinnerette. It was Brody Dalle, Tony Bevilacqua, Jack Irons & Alain Johannes. The only other song they did together, is Garbage - Girls Talk feat. Brody Dalle.
This is hands down the greatest song ive heard since I became addicted to the first distillers album. I love how they switch up to magnify the rollercoaster of thought+emotion. This album made me get back into the local circuit at 33 yrs old - I love you Brody, and all the inspiration you've given me over the years!
This has to be the first song about childbirth from the womans perspective !! It makes you feel and see the absolute magic and beauty in this and how powerful this experience must have been for her.. Art in its highest form. 💜 Also this
@@jrob18mvp okay, bro, yeah, sure. But I get how she *feels* like it is, because the music industry is more interested in the thoughts and feelings of men than women, and it wants to sexualize female songwriters and performers all the time. Off the top of my head, I can't think of one song depicting pregnancy/childbirth from a woman's/mother's perspective, but I can think of several from a man's/father's. You don't have to laugh at people just because you don't agree with them. Brody Dalle probably does not approve, man.
Loved Dalle since The distillers and manson since early Garbage, the 2 of these women together are a powerhouse. Being a male I love both of them but beyond that their music, singing and presence are amazing, rock n roll ladies, you are an inspiration.
My little brother was born five years ago. Being 20 years older I was there every step of the way and he felt more like a son. I remember listening to this song at the hospital while he slept and just looking at him crying of pure joy
I wish, I WISH, the segment at 3:01 to the end of the video was its own video, and 50 hours long. Possibly interspersed with high pitched wailing/screaming, and also a growling bass line drop. Keep the video style the same. Them just existing in a world of light and sound. 🤟👩🎤🤘 Epic.
I love this song. Especially after 3:08 - that starts my favorite part of the song. Heard on #BBCR1 probably the #punkrock show out of LA. Way to be #BrodyDalle , way to be.
I've been a fan of Brody's since she was in Sourpuss, The Distiller's, Spinnerette I think this is awesome song with her and Shirley Manson. She's definitely my favorite female rocker ever well maybe next to Janis Joplin.
Tim Thompson Why do you listen to this kind of music if you're so against swearing? I'm guessing you haven't heard The Distillers debut album or Sing Sing Death House. Now, kindly FUCK off. ( Oops I used bad language again.)
I think what Tim T. means is that women & children also read the comments-it's the etiquette of common decency for the "civilized" ones!lol-As if there could truly be such a thing! Even the most "civilized" of humans can have indecency in their minds! One can only try though! Perhaps if everyone did their part, the world would be a better place! Indeed! One comment at a time-you gotta start somewhere! Yes! Godspeed Timmy T.! & good luck! & other such positive motivational lines, insert here! Hooray!
its been a year since that rock n roll baby caught my attention in this video by Brody Dalle to make me comment looooooooove Shirley Manson collaborating here with sexy miss Dalle-Homme keep rocking on people in 2015 and 2016 peace out
Had a dream long before I ever heard of Brody Dalle where I died and could hear angels singing and it sounded almost exactly like her song Oh the joy. This song makes that dream unforgettable.
Two amazing artists and one extremely creative video! So much more interesting than most of the shite being pumped out these days. These grrrls just rock!
I just love this song, i have my baby and i´ve listened songs about being a mom or bout childs BUT THIS IS A REAL FEELING not just nice words, this is bout love y weirdness pregnancy feelings and i feel completely identified. Thaks Brody for this and for all your music
Sing sing death house will always be my favorite, but I'll buy anything that Brody puts out. She's talented, beautiful and has one of the best female voices ever. To this day I would still love to ask Tim Armstrong how did you let that slip through your fingers.
i mean, it sounds exactly the same as spinnerette but with the added bonus of shirley. i didnt like this song the first time i heard it, but after a second listen, i was sold.
Who's still listening to this banger 🔥
Here here
YES
This whole album is a banger.
❤

Here in 2023, pregnant and still jamming to this.
Meet The Foetus / Oh The Joy
If you tour the US.. hit up Minneapolis/St. Paul MN :D I know myself and a lot of other people who would love to see you perform.
So now that Josh has came out as a Satanist, does that mean you are as well?
I can't tell you how ecstatic this song makes me feel. YOU NAILED IT.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, BRODY -- THEY'RE SO LUCKY TO HAVE YOU FOR A MOM. XO
J'écoute encore ce morceau 7 ans après.
I love you ❤
The ending is perfection. I can't stop listening to it
Me too!!

This reminds me of when I seen The Distillers, Garbage and No Doubt about 20 years ago..
I am so jealous. That sounds like an awesome line-up.
8 years later and this song still makes me cry. It’s so beautifully written. I have 3 boys of my own and this makes me think of them ❤️
Perfect for when I am done being pissed off and listening to the distillers and want to close with something uplifting
Child birth changes a woman, completely. The birth of my daughter signified my own rebirth in a way. She is and will always be the best thing to happen to me. God has blessed me through her. Every day.
Love it! Particularly "Oh the joy" part. Brody and Shirley's voices blend so well! Both fierce chicks!
And dont forget Emily Kokal in the backround 😊
Cant forget the magnificent Emily Kokal of warpaint.
I swear I had fever dreams like this when I was pregnant . 👀🤟😎
Love how she has a baby duck in the beginning. Clever.
+Samantha Lam i never noticed that, plus i just realized she puts the duck on the bed and later josh is in that spot.
Yeah! It's pretty brilliant!
Yeah
@@joseestuvoaqui In Eagles of Death Metal, that's his stage name.

I will be honest though, the drum track on this song is irritably simple and becomes monotonous very quickly.
You ruined the song.
sedrafear I don't think this song needs a difficult drum beat. It's perfect like that.
EPIC FEMALE DUET IS EPIC!
2:59 lol at sleeping Josh
shirley and brody in a band will be a killer and tracendental noise
i guess you never heard sinnerette, shirley and brody are the front women on that band
Damned i have to see that
maybe you mean "spinnerette"...and there is just brody, not shirley.
Lol. Get your facts straight. Shirley was never ever part of Spinnerette.

Yes, do you like it?
@@Everman2S dude you came back to you own comment three years later impressive
These slow mo shots of Brody and Shirley give me chills * - *

Oh shit, this song has a whole new meaning to me now, for a lot of reasons.
Awesome. Two legends on the same track. Love this song.
Wasn't sure about this one until it hit the 3min mark & now I just want THAT to be in every song ever
4:02 is the best moment in this. How they both lift their feet to the beat is just a beautiful shot! Thanks for putting that in the video
Yes! I love that shot
Isn't that an awesome shot? Just that little lift in synch with each other and the joyful noise. Great editing.
Makes me smile, boots lifting in synch 🎉
this is the fucking shit goddamnit this song is the best shit ive heard in years god thank these women
