There is such a huge lesson here about the mental side of the game. Watching this straight after Rick's disastrous 'Break 75' round where we see Rick, playing badly, repeatedly set himself unrealistic targets, and then speak to himself in a horrible way when he fails to meet them. Pete when faced with the same situation is equally frustrated, but he articulates this calmly and simply states he wishes he was playing better. He doesn't give himself a hard time, stays in the moment, focuses on each shot individually as he plays it, and still enjoys the experience. Massive kudos to Pete for his mental toughness and displaying exactly the right attitude: just focus on enjoying doing something you love with no arbitrary expectations of a given result and you'll probably play as well as you are capable of on that given day.
My favourite series on UA-cam! Simon is an absolute baller, well done to him. Shout out to the lads filming and editing, loved the Ireland colours on the shot tracer too! Great work Finch & Co.
Taking on a player like Simon on his home course was a helluva challenge Peter; kudos to you for taking him on. And kudos to Simon as well; what a player!
Thank you once again for allowing us to see these wonderful Golf Courses -- yeah we all know how you want to play well -- but on the other hand showcasing not just the courses but the people -- Well Done Sir Well Done.
Great video, he was on fire and I don’t think there was anything you could have done. Brilliant series and I’m already looking forward to the next one. Love your easy relaxed way in front of the camera
What a beautiful round of golf, sir. Thank you for sharing. Beautiful scenery, weather, grass, trees - this video encapsulates the beauty of the game with solid sportsmanship and professionalism; all while wearing a smile.
Really enjoyed this video. Love the different looks on shots with the tracer, especially the reverse angle on the par 3s. Liked seeing a tour pro just take his medicine and punch it out, something I need to remember out there!
Great content again Pete I like how you showed us the caddy and player conversations. It's interesting watching the decision making that goes into each shot.
Was absolutely class watching it in person, video doesn't do the shot on 10 justice, that hook around the trees and up the neck to the green was the best shot I've watch live.
Those first 4 holes were a perfect showcase of the difference between a 'pro' and a (former) 'tour pro'. Pete did well to hang in there. We need to see those last 5 holes that Simon said were the best on the course - a back 9 match with Pete starting 2 up would work.
Hi Pete, I have been critical of you before, however your attitude here was highly impressive and I have re subbed because I really enjoyed this and know you can play much better.
It's a shame watching the two of them now as Peter is training hard and improving (or atleast that's how it seems) and Rick is in a big decline, wouldn't even be a competition between the two of them now
@@topnoob100 I get what you mean, but Rick has that match play tenacity, especially against Pete. I think it would be closer than you think, and entertaining either way. But ofc I'd be backing Pete haha
@@xXcharliegoonerXx yeah that's fair a matchplay is always an easy format to keep competitive as blow ups don't matter but I agree the chemistry between the 2 has always made a cracking video
Loved this series Pete! I will say, I felt like the first episode was much more serious, which I certainly didn't mind (and it even seemed to help you stay locked in a little!), but the more casual vibes of the more recent ones also make for good viewing
You've trained to your body, tested all your equipment, and worked on your game. All you needed was to pay your caddie more 😀 In all seriousness, probably the best game, experience wise, you've ever played. Keep it going 💪
Another great video, really enjoying this series, can’t wait for more of these next year. Just not your day Pete, we all have them annoyingly, take some comfort in the fact it was Simon’s home course.
Sometimes it's just not your day, Pete! It's frustrating when bad shots get crappy kicks though so many times! Way to keep a smile on your face, my friend!
Great video, loved the blank expression on some of the young spectators watching you hit some shots. Nice coloured shot tracers. Please can we have some more like this.
No disrespect to Peter (who had an off day), but Simon showed glimpses of what it takes to win on tour. Position off the tee and sharp iron play to within 10 feet. No frills and gets the job done every time. Congrats on a winning formula and looking forward to seeing more.
Great video, the golf course looked spectacular. Another one on the to play list. Simons clubs were on fire that day and his short game was A game. Just wasn't your day Peter huge credit how you played even if it felt like a nightmare round. Some shot on the 10th too. Hope to see another match like this on another Irish course in series 2.
Hard luck Pete , I've really enjoyed the series , great job to you and the team. I can't wait for the next series. enjoy the break. I hope you have enjoyed the Irish hospitality . Your always welcome here, Best of luck to you all. Slainte Noel
I've enjoyed all these matches! Hope to see more of them in the future. That course looked good. Shame we never got to see the holes that he said were the nicest at the beginning of the vlog. Guess I'll just have to visit it if I want to see them 😆 🤣
Simon is.a top bloke won on my own course in clandeboye northern ireland followed him the whole final round and his iron play was top notch . Love these videos Pete
Love these videos, great to see you 'over here' ;), playing some of our Irish courses. Would love to see one in Rosses Point, maybe next year. Keep them coming.

Fantastic to listen to the conversation between caddy and professional. Would really enjoy more of that

Just goes to show how good the top tour players are. It's ridiculous.
Pete, I love this series and your whole approach to playing golf. No matter what is happening, you enjoy playing and keep positive.
Thanks 👍
Best series you’ve done yet. Simon was superb for this. Looking forward to series 2!
Really nice touch with the tracers being the flag colours. Love the series, love watching Pete, great editing guys.
Taking on a player like Simon on his home course was a helluva challenge Peter; kudos to you for taking him on. And kudos to Simon as well; what a player!
The spectators/members showed lots of respect. Simons well known to be a ripper so dont be too hard on yourself with the result. Great video again ✌🏼
Thank you once again for allowing us to see these wonderful Golf Courses -- yeah we all know how you want to play well -- but on the other hand showcasing not just the courses but the people -- Well Done Sir Well Done.
Playing club Pros is definitely your best content, no one else is doing it, love it.
Brilliant video... Loved Petes comments - "nearest the pin is the winner" & "next hole the winner" Spirits high when you were behind is class!
The shot traces showing the nations colors is a nice touch. Good job.
Also, I like the view from the greens on the par 3’s.

This concept is pure gold. Great stuff, and I love the commentary as always!
One of the best golf series on UA-cam tbh, so good, I look forward to these
Peter Finch....some killer stuff lately. Bravo 👏
Brilliant... The video doesn't do justice to the course... Makes it look a lot flatter than I remember!! Great series!
Really enjoyed this video. Love the different looks on shots with the tracer, especially the reverse angle on the par 3s. Liked seeing a tour pro just take his medicine and punch it out, something I need to remember out there!
A fantastic course. Played there this year during the heatwave we had. A tough course is putting it lightly!
Love to see golf vids like this- some people just make golf look effortless… 😅 love this series!
6:37 "Are you winning daddy?" Smile of the day
This was a tough challenge Pete. Great series. Simon's swing is so smooth it looks effortless, true example of letting the club do the work.
Love the series also love the way shot tracers matched the country’s being represented nice touch
Schooled.. your human and I have massive respect because we don’t always win but a win is we come back stronger on another day… thank you for this vid
Love this series, more please! Win or lose, it shows the course at its best and how it should or should not be played.
Great content again Pete I like how you showed us the caddy and player conversations. It's interesting watching the decision making that goes into each shot.
Brilliant series, love that you can take it well when you're up against it Pete. You're the nuts because of your personality as much as your golf.
Was absolutely class watching it in person, video doesn't do the shot on 10 justice, that hook around the trees and up the neck to the green was the best shot I've watch live.
Cheers bud, glad I could do something 😂
Love the shot-tracer from behind the green on the par threes.
Awesome video as always Pete. I love the crowds at these things, always appreciative of a good shot
Love this type of video. Please continue these. They’re a great watch
Love watching Peter taking on challenges with his peers or betters. Always entertaining, please keep it up.

Awesome vid and love this series. Would have loved to see the final stretch of holes though even if the match is over.
It would be great to see another Irish series next year. Some amazing courses over here.
Great series, more please. The drone footage is brilliant well done Peter finch team
More of this content. Great to see these club pros giving love to their courses.

Rick challenged pete to it on his podcast months ago…
Rick outgrew Ole Pete. Just look at the subscriber difference and views per video differences, just simply got bigger than Pete.
Petes content > Ricks content - one is monetised and one is for the sheer love of golf! Keep up the good work Pete!
Love watching you play the pro at his own course series, Simon was very impressive on the day
Loved this series Pete!

this guy is one of the best representations of swing your swing lol, so slappy and soooooo goood
Great Vid Pete. Cheers mate you took a beating and were gracious about it. Well played sir
wow you can see the level difference i mean pete is an insane golfer but a tour pro is next level.

Crappy kicks? It’s called bad shots

Congrats on a winning formula and looking forward to seeing more.
Love the format great videos
I did check after 20 mins how long of the video was remaining. The guy never missed
What a quality player the lad was plus a topman , his swing so easy and nice Pete , you tell he was a proper pro good game respect to you both 👏
Crazy to see Pete be 40 yards longer off the tee on some holes but it just doesn't matter because the pro hits every approach to 4 feet lol
Drives just don't matter when you can't make a putt.
@@PawPawGreg drive for show, putt for dough, definitely
Missing the green from 130 yards ....
40 yards longer in the wrong position unfortunately
@@PawPawGreg that's just really not true

Man what a beautiful golf course…and we got to see some incredible golf played, thanks Peter 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Massive respect for posting
Some great golf played
I love how the shot tracers have your respective flag colors. A+ editing.
Playing tulfarris first time tomorrow. Would have been nice to get an idea of the last 5 holes! 🤣
Great vid. Thanks
Great video Peter. This series has been superb. Looking forward to more next season.
Super player there, Stenson-esque with his ball striking. Great video.

Great video, loved it thanks Pete and the guys
Love these videos, great to see you 'over here' ;), playing some of our Irish courses. Would love to see one in Rosses Point, maybe next year. Keep them coming.
The tee shot tracers being the national flags colours of each of them. Just the little things!
Very brave of you Pete. This guy is mustard. 😂👍 love the series look forward to the new year
honestly his caddie was probably a massive contributor, talking him through the shots on his home course. Confidence was 10/10 for sure
Hard luck mate! But very honest with the comments! If you miss the green or fairway…..it makes it twice as hard! Great video as always pal! 🤙🏻
4 birdies in a row to start! Just bad luck Pete. One of those days😎
Pete don’t let it get in your head! Don’t over think and just play and have fun!
Pity Simon wasn’t a bit more craic but the man was in the zone, love seeing a course that I’ve recently played! 🔥
Love this series and what amazing play on the front 9. Crazy start💪
Course looked amazing
Love these vids! Cup of tea and quality half hour vid 👌

Love the series and looking forward to season 2 next year ⛳ 👍🏻
liking the national coloured shot tracers, very nice touch that!
Love the par 3 angles.
great content, beautiful golf course, really enjoyed the different camera angles on the shot tracer.
Those English and Irish tracers are a nice touch 👌
Would love to see a rematch Pete! I think the nerves got to you on this occasion. Still plenty of positives to take away. Keep up the great work.
