Lindsey, this may be a daft suggestion (and I haven't finished watching the rest of your video yet. But, sometimes I turn boxes inside out - to post things or store things. So the labels etc are on the inside. You may need tape to, tape the box up again along the seal. I also keep a written tick list of what is in the box - long-sleeved x3, T. Shirt x4, trousers, Joggers, Sweatshirt 2 etc and box by age. It gives you an idea of what you may still need. I'm still trying to find new ways to keep ontop of things. You're doing an amazing job. With two little boys you're an incredible mum. We may not be able to be Minimalists with little ones. However, we are conscious consumers and door keepers xx Much love and respect as always xx

Your saying of progress over perfection really shines here. I think you did a great job reconquering the spaces. I have a recommendation about labels. I use painters tape/masking tape and a sharpie to just quickly write a label and slap it on a box. This is how I frankly organize everything. The tape comes right off. I know ThisMainerMom just uses pantry label stickers for the same reason. But I would label things before I forget. ♡

Most of watching your videos have some kind of catch all room, closet or spot. You are tackling this with small children. That is amazing! I wish I would have started then but whenever we start is a good thing. You are doing such an incredible job. Finding out things that don't work for you is still a success. It will lead you to what does work for you. It is the keep on trying is what chips away at it. Wishing you the best.

I agree with you about starting at an earlier point. For those smart enough to start decluttering in their 20’s and 30’s it is going to be so much easier for you to maintain your homes when you’re much older. I wish I had started many years ago. The older you get the more you’ve acquired and the harder it is to declutter.

Hi Lindsay. Was this your last video? I cannot find a more recent video of you. I am living in South Africa and watch all your videos. You are an inspiration for a lot of people. Keep up the good work and enjoy those two beautiful boys . Godd bless

Only half way through so sorry if you talk about labels later! I just painters tape to label my bins. Just write with a pen what size clothes they are and stick it on the top and front side of each of my bins. Makes it quick, easy to change, etc.

LABEL THE BOXES. i have the clothes sorted by size. if you don't like seeing it, don't have hanging stuff out, or shoes. A bin of shoes it great.

I would take those closet doors off and replace with a curtain. The organizer in the middle is always bocked by the door and if you have better access to it, things might stay tidier.

Great job! I see myself and so many young moms in you as you try to do it all and provide for your kids on a budget.
I have 3 of my own and have fostered 30+ more. I wish I could go back and tell my young self how little a child needs for clothing. It makes all this storing and stressing evaporate and there is still ENOUGH. Keep your favorites and let the rest go! Great work, Mama!!! Thanks for your vulnerability and sharing your life with us!

Closet looks terrific! Consider buying a tall, narrow quality dresser that will fit in the closet to store all your to-be-used clothes in. One drawer or two per size you want to save. That puts a limit on the inventory (makes you pick the best clothes) and saves your sanity. This will give you a nice storage option that will be used by one of the boys when he’s older and you’re going to need to buy a dresser anyway. Please don’t get baskets/cloth cubes. Buy a real dresser or find one in your house you can better use in that space. Your sanity is worth making that storage closet work for you.

Don’t beat yourself up Lindsay. It’s a hard journey, decluttering itself is overwhelming. I have a catch all area too and kids clothing is soooooooooo hard to get rid of (I’m bad at that area and only have one child) 🙈🤣

Opaque bins are definitely the way to go. I'm the more pernickety version of the Ladybird, being a Cricket, and much prefer opaque bins. As a Cricket, I also have containers within containers. You may not have realised, btw, but you are about to apply the Container Principle to that box, where you said you were about to declutter, so that it would fit in the box.
Getting rid of socks is a good move. As soon as a baby is born, friends and family want to buy clothes etc. so just ask them to gift socks!

You were headed towards minimalism so well. I think I noticed a change after you visited your sister and yall had so much fun thrifting....lol Nothing wrong with that. But, it seems like that's around the time things started changing some and you started thrifting a lot more. But, its always good to try something like minimalism and then decide its not really for you, than to not try at all. It helps you to learn what you prefer. ♥️

Love the bags in the box idea! When I tried to pare down on clothes I kept inbetween kids, I tried to keep only sets and pass on any shirts or pants that did not have a match. You are doing such a great job! I am 4 years postpartum and we feel complete, so I went through recently and saved maybe 20 outfits in total from newborn to 2T, and gave the rest in labeled by size bags to my cousin who is having her first and that felt really good.

😢Seperate bins with bigger sizes at the bottom - such as age 4 on top, a piece of A4 paper seperating the age 5 on the bottom of the bin. That way, when I look for bigger clothes I always take from the top of the box, to the paper.
