This is such a helpful video and it's so cool to see your progress. Thanks for including the ones that weren't successes too. I'm about to try pants for the first time and I needed both the reference and inspo! :)

I love all of the raw/selvedge jeans, they were perfectly fitting your body! Now you are lean and slim all over, I am very tall with wide hips and have a huge problem with denim. And no sewing skills whatsoever. 😅

Thank you so much!! Learning to sew has definitely helped me to have well fitting jeans :)

Thank you, Rebecca! Wow, you have made the jeans! Beautiful job, too! I have not made a single pair of jeans... I have made several pants, and have one TNT pattern of a simple pull on style that I use often.

Thanks! Making jeans is a bit intimidating at first but once you know the steps it’s really approachable. You can do it!

Love this video! Super helpful as I have just started my jeans journey. I just made the open studio shop pant as my first and used top down center out for fitting. Definitely a tdco learning curve but they fit great and turned out pretty nice!

These are gorgeous and I'm inspired by the ambition. I haven't been brave enough to try jeans yet. Have you ever tried/heard of "Top Down/ center out" pants fitting? it might save you some of the heartache of pants that don't fit at all

Thank you! I’ve heard of it but I’ve never tried it, I should look into it further.

Great journey! The final result inspire me. Every time i try pants ( my must difficult fit) i star with a test pattern only cut 4 to 6 inches below the crotch that give me an idea. Some times i made a second test before even try the final fabric. I applause you for try every jean from beginning to end!

Thank you! The final pairs are definitely my favorite! I think I wanted to learn all of the techniques and steps well..which is why I made full versions. I also started with clearance fabrics to learn on!

Thank you! I haven’t tried the shop pants but I’ve seen some lovely pairs on Instagram. Will add to my list!

Great journey!! I’ve made 20+ pair myself and i have 2 favorite patterns. Anna Allen Persephone (which i add patch pockets front and back and lower the rise) and the Make by TFS May Jean (shaped leg) which i add the double front patches and lower the rise. Personal preference for me is mid-rise. Love the high rise on you tho!!

Oh wow, that’s a lot of Jeans, but fabulous work! I have the Modern Sew Co Worker Trousers pattern and Dawn Jeans but I’ve not made either of these yet …. I feel a little intimated by trousers. I struggle to find rtw jeans/trousers that fit me well, I’m long in the body, small waist, round bottom, hips and thighs. I just need to be brave and give them a go. Thank you for the inspiration. I’ve only recently discovered your channel and I’m loving your videos.

Thank you! It was a journey to find what I like wearing the most. I think the last pairs I share are my favorites. I understand how making them can feel intimidating at first…but can also say that when I finally decided to go for it sewing my own jeans felt like a superpower! Take it one step at a time and you’ve got this :) the Worker trousers have a good amount of ease in the hips, might be a good place to start. Thanks again for your kind words!
