Can’t even live in Florida anymore. I’m tired of this
Well move then.
Come on ride the storms like a real Floridian
How long have you lived there? I spent 1 winter in Florida and said no F way. Please stay on the east coast if you leave Florida.
#CoolTheGulf
Well the Atlantic Ocean has always been known to be deadly and has storms all the time. Idk why they would even build civilization in an area like Florida that’s surrounded by the ocean
And less than half an hour after this, it became a cat 4
And now pushing cat 5. 😢
If you do the math, it’s a Cat27 at landfall.

I am grateful for the data that is available on so many TV stations and from NOAA's National Hurricane Center.
It is amazing how they are able to forecast in advance e so people and prepare for these hurricanes, storms etc. Be safe florida...
Just remember trump wants to abolish noaa in project 2025
And I'm sure you realize that all of it will go if Project 2025 goes into effect. The closest thing to a weather report will be Marjorie Taylor Greene saying it's all a hoax.
The National Weather Service issues alerts and predictions, warning of hurricanes and excessive heat and rainfall, all at the total cost to American taxpayers of roughly $4 per person per year. Project 2025 plans to break up NOAA claiming its research is ‘climate alarmism’ and calls for commercialising forecasts. Florida governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill in May deleting the words “climate change” from state statutes. Thoughts and prayers is all you be getting, no information and no home insurance.

Now is the time to evacuate if you live within the cone of prediction. Pack some clothes and no-cook snacks, put them in your vehicle and just leave. Head inland to a higher elevation. Camp in your vehicle or share the costs of a motel room with a friend or neighbor if you have little money. At the very least you will save your vehicle from destruction and will not be stuck in a disaster zone that has no electric power, no air conditioning, no clean drinking water and toilets that do not flush. Even if your home survives the storm surge, it may have a foot or more of sewage-filled water inside. And floods bring out snakes and alligators when the land floods. Worried you may get fired if you do not stay in the area and stay available to work? The hurricane may destroy your workplace, and no civilian job is worth risking your life. Just call in sick if you are working for a selfish tyrant.
That reminds me of when Americans had 4 months to leave Afghanistan. Every day they would get a warning to leave the Country- " A storm was coming. "- Yet some chose to stay until the last freaking day forcing our Troops outside the wall to face the terrorist Trump let out of Prison.
Good luck finding higher ground😅😂 but everything else is spot on
@@elmosweed4985 Yes. many people lack imagination and just cannot believe that the weather can become that dangerous. Until they see it for themselves -- and then it is too late to get away. This is Mother Nature's way of reducing the number of foolish in our population.
@@debrahelmlinger6256 There is higher ground in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, norther Louisiana and east Texas. All these states are within a day's drive. I know this because I have driven to all these states from Florida.

Economically Florida is a really poor bet anymore. Millions of people are being forced to take the hit with real estate and will still think of the state as a tropical paradise. I won't be too shocked if eventually the entire state is evacuated a left to return to mostly just swampland. I can't imagine the prospect of having to continuously rebuild over and over and over as everything you ever owned gets gradually reclaimed by the sea..

I live in Louisiana, it’s literally gotten better over the last 15 years. Why are yall so shocked and blown away by a hurricane during hurricane season?
@@btconnergaming Hurricanes are getting stronger and more frequent because of human-driven climate change.

What are you even talking about?
Good luck Americans in the path of this Hurricane. May god keep you safe!
Florida done pissed off nature!
Lame
Remember how the televangelists blamed the immoral behavior of the folks in New Orleans for Katrina? I wonder why we are not hearing similar outcry over Milton and Helene which are striking heavily christian fundamentalist areas. I would say, if I were a christian, which I am not, that these folks sure as hell pissed somebody off. But as the atheist I am, I wholeheartedly agree with you. I am from Nebraska, safe from hurricanes, but our mother shows her displeasure with tornadoes and, right now, droughts, worse every year.

Unfortunately, people have been sold a story by politicians that climate change is a hoax and all that matters in life is low income taxes and safety from scary books. If you believe all that, it makes perfect sense to invest your life savings in a house in Florida.

But they dont have income tax though
Florida Gov. DeSantis signed a bill in 2023 that nullifies climate change green energy mandates from state law. Remember that when you get your homeowner insurance premium increase Floridians.
Climate Change isn’t local. Florida could have the Cleanest, Greenest Policies in the Planet and the result would be the same unless the entire planet goes Green.

These "record" storms will be all too common from now on. Forget about 500 year and 1000 year storms, this is going to happen much more frequently, over and over again, as our planet gets hotter and hotter-unless we try to do something about it. And don't forget about the Thwaites glacier in Antarctica which is being steadily undermined by sea water and meltwater. If that Florida-sized glacier slides off its rocky base, the oceans will rise by as much as ten feet.
Until one Political party wakes the Fk up about man made climate change nothing is going to get done about it.
Don't worry--human-caused climate change is just fake science made up to control people... right? Right? How can people still believe that?
Yet there are *still* people who say that climate change is a "hoax." Just sad...
Hotter is the key word, we're all too HOT!
People in Florida think global warming was made up by democrats. I applaud your effort. But people in Florida won't listen or care. So I say let them have to live on house boats and have to pay a fee to walk on dry land in Georgia or Alabama.
Already a Cat 4 winds at 150MPH per NHC!
Are we seeing the first cat 6
I’m in WA and we got notice it’s a cat 4
This is what I'm worried about. Some models predict it will be a strong cat 5 with sustained winds of 185 mph... which is monstrous. That wind shear may only weaken it to a weaker cat 5 by the time it makes landfall.
