- I met the late Medicine Man, Pete Catches in Moscow, as part of the American contingent at the 7th Generation Conference, and then interviewed him in Philadelphia, although he lived on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Of all the "Holy people" I've ever met, Pete was the only one I ever believed could speak with the Almighty.
I was able to meet Pete Catches just before he passed. I came to his home at the time. He was so loving and kind. I am a half breed but he treated me like a daughter. He spoke of the sacredness of the Chanupa(pipe)
He said to continue to fill it for prayers and know that it worked. I am eternally grateful for his guidance because at the time there was a lot of prejudice against half breeds.
As a recovering alcoholic and addict, I spent a very brief time with the Lakota Sioux. I was very eager to learn the old ways. They were not so anxious to show me the ways. Perhaps they knew something I did not know about myself. My questions were simple yet they offered little as if I was not worthy. This great man has answered some those questions. I now wish to understand better.
I remember reading in a book called "Wisdom of the Elders"....the story about this first time he healed someone... nearby where he lives (in his little shack of a trailer).... out in the woods........ way out on the rez..The old man who he was called upon to treat was very sick,in bed....and on his way to die.....Pete was about 40 yrs old then.....The old man, was VERY sick, and cranky, in no mood to be kind to anyone....and he looked at Pete and said..."Oh, so who are you...young man, that you think you can come here... and cure me?"...."I dont think you can do ANYTHING for me...I am going to die soon, and there is NOTHING you can do...to help me...so go away..leave me to die here"..Pete just looked at him , and said, "OK....but first, I am going to have my assistant make a fire here"....and then ...a fire was made..in the woodstove....real hot....and when it was full of red hot coals...blazing hot.....he opened up the woodstove, reached inside, with his bare hands...grabbed a handful of the hot coals...and held them in his hands.....without getting burned at all...... while the assistant stood next by him, to help burn the sage etc...and they walked over to the old man's bed...with the burning hot coals in his hand....and lit some sage smoke for him by sprinkling the crushed dried leaves onto the red hot coals in his hands.......The old man saw this...and his eyes were OPENED.... and his mind was REALLY blown at that moment....and he realized that Pete was indeed ......a real "Medicine Man".......and the Power to cure him, was given to him......He was "cured" in that moment.....and was able to get out of his death bed the next day...He was cured.......

Dear Relative, WE can not say that some just want get it! What is it..that you seem to believe you have the understanding of Something, wouldn't be best to protect and provide someone who WE think isnt worthy of Not just a little understanding but deeper... Than what Our Ego Deceives Us About Our Own, Limited Abilities? Never shut anyone down that could happen back to you. We are not all on the same journey as many claim.

Just try going out and finding a secluded, beautiful spot out in Mother Nature alone and let your tears flow. Our Grand Creator will be the only witness out there with you to comfort you, then afterwards you will no longer be hesitant to cry in front of someone for any reason. Not letting your emotions flow freely because men are taught not to cry will bring you health issues. It's not loving to teach boys that way, and if mine were still alive I would teach them so.

Been fightn dreams that repeat, well not really ive told everyone around me. But i have recently started sharing publicly. I still dont know what im spose to do. Ive just now at 36 kinda figured out one dream that explains the rest of em, its also the oldest repeating dream, the dream starts out with me in the most coolest treehouse ever with a spiral staircase i get bord inside n go outside n wonder around i sit on a rock n a bunch of turtles yell at me for sitting on their king turtle, i apologize go get the turtle sum leaves to make up 4 sitting on him i get the wrong ones n apologize again telling him idk they looked pretty n i overhear a battle plan n offer my help the snakes had over taken the turtles home n the treasured loved child the snakes swarm yet never look at, n the turtles r hell bent on the rescue mission, n if possible recovering the house too. I cant do it tho i try to help i get close enough to kinda see him the turtles provide defense as i try n advance n im halted every time until called and he is upset i am cut up n brused frm battle, its not my place, only the great spirit can, n will. The dream ends with him asking what happened to my garment infront of the men he brought n i tell him everything n the dream ends with a warmth starting at my head n flowing down my body making a new garment, all the sticks in my messy hair are gone n cuts n bruises r gone as well
He hears me cry without sound nor anyone seeing or knowing, he knows n comes and comforts me. Hes the only one who can do it, hes the only one who can fix it. Spirit has been focused on unteaching me some things n drawing me to certain native teachings. Im not gonna pretend i have any link to any tribe tho distant in my blood of both native of several diff tribes from both parents (creek cherokee n heard blackfoot ) and alot of white too. So im a mut i belong nowhere in this world accepted by no one n dont care about belonging anywhere anymore either. Just sending the message only he can do it, idk what but he (the great spirit) is the only one who can so ya i hope message gets to where it needs to be
