My favorite photo of my beautiful Lakota Ina is with her regal braids. Upon entering White Man school. The next photo my heart cries. She is almost bald those thick braids are no more. She suffered horribly. It took her many years to let the stories out. She bore shame that was not hers to bear. I helped her to recover her Indigenous dignity before she walked on. R.I.P. my beautiful Ina. ❤️. We are strong people. We’ve had to survive and still be here. My great grandmother had 16 children. She wanted Indian blood to walk these lands. She said, they couldn’t take her womb from her. She and my Cherokee great grandfather raised them well. Until, they were taken away to school. We are the only race on this earth without a voice. We are invisible. Humanity must do better. We shall always remember and never forget. Sending Ravens to all.

My Oglala Lakota Oyate(People) will always survive. We are strong people, and always find a way to survive. Our cycle of trauma, and abuse needs to change, and that goes for our own people that verbally, physically, and sexually abuse our native children, that many was also physically, and sexually abused themselves as children. The abuse did start from white people when the Priest/Minister, and church staff would verbally, physically, and sexually abuse our children, all our depression, and mental illness was started from there, and us Native people continued the abuse from there. We need to stop the cycle of abuse, so we can finally grow, and thrive instead of just surviving. Much love to all my Wild Oglala's!!!

First you reminded me of George Carlin and then Noam Chomsky speaking of education. Then you reminded me of this quote. You who are so wise must know that different nations have different conception of things. You will not therefore take it amiss if our ideas of the white man's kind of education happens not to be the same as yours. We have had some experience of it. Several of our young people were brought up in your colleges. They were instructed in all your sciences; but, when they came back to us, they were all bad runners, ignorant of every means of living in the woods, unable to bear either cold or hunger. They didn't know how to build a cabin, take a deer, or kill an enemy. They spoke our language imperfectly. They were therefore unfit to be hunters, warriors, or counsellors; they were good for nothing. We are, however, not the less obliged for your kind offer, though we decline accepting it. God doesn't do evil. Evil /& the devil do evil. If there was no sin and no evil on this planet then it would be quite a different world don't you think? If God took away freewill then what would be the point? If we all had no free will/could not make any decisions for ourselves we would literally just be robots. We're only meant to be on this Earth for a short time. Eternity is for longer than our brains can even process. The people that mock people for believing in God are the people who believe that 2 specs that came from "nothing" collided & made everything that you see in & on this planet & outer space - fish, birds, people, oceans, octopus, horses, walruses, deer, elephants, goats, lions, snakes, oxygen, clouds, planets, ect ECT. So tell me which belief is crazier? When we see a building we naturally can know to assume that it had a builder/ someone built it. You & I trying to understand God creating us is like trying to explain algebra to a dog. We aren't even able to use all of our brain function. To think we all happened from nothing, I believe is crazier than to believe we do not have a creator. And of course then we are confronted with wondering: well who created our creator? & So on & so forth. We are not meant to understand or be able to comprehend yet. .
Keep up the good work remarkable women and shame on America shame shame shame
Shame on making this the best country in the world where everyone wants to immigrate to? Shame on you!! If your so ashamed of America then why do you live here??? Leave then.
Burden? No child should be called a burden. It’s not there fault when they are being made.
Beautiful film and thank you for the Honesty. Native people need and Deserve so much more Respect and Help than they have been Or Are getting! Job creation Where they live, or within walking distance (since transportation can be and frequently Is a problem, at least until they have been earning money for a good while.) Some kind of help in dealing with the addiction and depression, etc. that does Not clash with their Native values/beliefs. Health care that is available Locally and is Decent, to address the many difficulties that come with living such an isolated life, like maternal health care, catching cancer Early so it can be treated Successfully, medical addiction management, etc. These are just a few ideas...♥️
we love you lakota from north aferica from algiers yes we dont speak english good but we love you people lakota my name sofiane 27 years from algerie

Man i Love these People ALL OF THEM ALL THROUGHOUT TURTLE ISLAND remind me of my Peoples...same LIFE same STRIFE. Aotearoa / New Zealand
May GOD Bless All Of You❤️❤️❤️
I am from New Zealand i am a Maori by Native sending love and blessing to all Native Americans.
My heart breaks and my soul is with all you strong women. As an European, I feel guilt about, what my ancestors did to you. I hope for a change in the society to real support and honor for the native people ❤️
My dear...also Europeans were stripped of their culture.we were all lied and made to hate our roots. Evil worked behind all the bad was done.we are all victims to the dark evil that has had earth hostage.its time now we all are proud of our roots our REAL traditions .
These brainwashed, low IQ, anti-White slobs CHOOSE to wallow in self-pity and live in absolute filth while their history is literally FILLED with genocidal Indian vs. Indian wars over territory and resources that had absolutely NOTHING whatsoever to do with Whites! Research the many wars between the Comanche and Apache for starters! Then look into the wars between the Apache and the Mexicans! Yet, EVERYTHING is ALWAYS Whitey's fault?
Great spirit please help all the native people and kids bless them
Respect to all first nation communities. May the most high creator restore your dignity and preserve your traditions and customs.
This breaks my heart. I am not native but the culture has to be the most beautiful thing and I love learning about it. I hate the past though and how it’s continuing on. It’s beyond sad how these communities are still suffering and struggling.
The Native People are sooooo beautiful people, so pretty.
They got beautiful hair
Thank God for people like Aimee…May bless the work you do and multiply it 10,000 fold ❤
Despite of what our Indian sisters gone through, don't lose hope,GOD is watching us all, there was light at the end,Don't give up hope.
This is beautifully sad! IDK how to put but it’s just such an eye opener to see what Native American girls struggle with.
Never forget ur roots
Be proud of ur culture
Be who u r
Somehow I came upon these Video’s today. Love seeing and listening..

Education is the key. This must be stressed to all the young people on the rez. You are not defined by your environment. Rise up girls and boys by gaining knowledge.! Lean on one another esp the young girls. There's HOPE.
colonial government shitting on them hints at the key. the key is decolonisation
To show our gratefulness, it the gentleman of Virginia shall send us a dozen of their sons, we will take great care with their education, instruct them in all we know, and make men of them.
-Canassatego - Treaty of Lancaster
Peace. (;
The problem is nor everyone is college bound and it's very sick that its pushed on people that just want a regular life. Who want to be in debt in order to work. Not everyone wants to do that. Teaching kids to drive safely and how to get jobs should be what's being pushed not college.
I agree! You're Victor's Not victims!! You got the Power!!💪💪😁😁
Well Said! Much Love and Respect for All Our 7th Generation Youth! Hoka!!!!!
I loved this. I worked in SD for a two years off and on. I loved this and love the Oglala Nation.
Our stories of forced assimilation are so the same...my heart feels for the Aboriginal people of America...I am a descendant of the Aboriginal people of Australia our people are the most underpriviellaged in our nation.😭♥️
It is the same in Canada. I am not aboriginal but I live in the north with many nations and it is the same story here. The Canadian government subsidizes them but its a debt peonage trap.. designed to keep the people docile and eternally linked to a cycle of poverty and shame. Its not just forced assimilation, its cultural erasia. I would recommend any books by Chris Hedges if you really want to understand the colonial system you are living under.
my son in law is a descendant of Australian Aboriginal people as well,
the amount of extra payments he gets because of this including free education is astounding
he thinks its a rort but is happy to get it LOL
@@markandmellwhiteley7995 sorry not all of us get those extra payments, certain family groups have royalties paid to them from trust, because of land. Unfortunately those of us where colonisation impacted and destroyed the most are less likely to be better off financially. It's still comes down to hard work, opportunities and overcoming a lot of adversity and trauma. Hope he doesn feel it's a rort, but compensation of some sort for the wrongs done to our people.
@@lorettaavey5085 thankyou for your reply Loretta
l agree that it's still comes down to hard work, opportunities and overcoming a lot of adversity and trauma, its not easy ;)
the trauma being a "state of mind", the adversity being "prejudice" but we all grow up with prejudice stupid people around us eg.... l grew up being called a wog, dago, darky, abo and worse ect... but now l'm told l have white privilege's LOL, l cannot win
this young bloke is a very hard worker, IMHO he deserves what he gets and l am glad he is getting the extra help, l am very proud of him and how he conducts himself.
his opportunities have been better than for everyone else non indigenous because as soon as he lets the schools know about his background he has doors opened up for him that are not for non indigenous people as well as the scholarships, grants and extra monies available to him being of indigenous decent the reason why he does think its a rort as he looks at people as people not us and them, great parents behind him
anyway l sincerely wish the best for you
Indigenous people all over the planet sadly share similar stories.
Just the fact that native Americans still live on the same reservations that where given to them hundreds of years ago. The reservations were always picked out as the driest most barren land as an attempt to further kill off the natives and to not waste good land. Imagine if they where given back sacred lands that they have been fighting for, given back more of their original homelands, help to get them on their feet again and get over the socio economic trap that has been put upon them. I think the situation would look a whole lot different.
we all have to work and earn our living... we are all equal... we are all native americans
@Heidi Hoe Enjoy your opinion... it's yours.
@Bright Light lol, project much?
@Bright Light Your inability to control yourself and your need to lash out destroys all the credibility you didn't have anyway. LOL.
@Bright Light See? You're trying too hard... desperate. Does this sad sort of bullying really help you? :) Smile more, you'll feel better.
I am obsessed with this culture breaks my heart
