How did you manage to glue the new keyboard?

    • @freeware3202

@@jesusjasso1510 it was problematic to me since I'm new on this, I just followed the video. But, I managed to fix it and swore not to to be in it again after its completion.
Little remained on those plastics that formerly held the keyboard, so, I used a PVC welding rod (Approx 2 mm diam.) I bought online and heat it up with a soldering iron. Luckily, it held the keyboard in place and celebrate what I did.

Thank you for posting this epic repair, overcoming Lenovo's obvious intention to make a laptop that can't be serviced. To me, the message that comes over most strongly is: don't buy a laptop PC that's constructed in this way!

I'm pleased to share my extensive 17-year experience in the laptop and electronic repair industry.
Over the past 17 years, I have witnessed a significant transformation in the laptop industry. Initially, the focus was on creating reliable, durable, and upgradable laptops, which was beneficial for consumers. However, the industry has since shifted towards intense brand competition, market share battles, and sales maximization. To achieve higher sales and cater to a broader range of consumers with varying budgets, manufacturers have introduced various obstacles, including:
      - Weaker power circuits in laptop components.
-Manipulation of physical design and airflow.
-Elimination of RAM slots and CPU LGA sockets, often replacing them with BGA chips.
-Patching the keyboard from underneath, compromising durability.
      -Poor-Quality Screen Hinges.
      -Inferior Chargers.
      -Low-Quality Batteries.
Manufacturers understand that many consumers primarily focus on the CPU, RAM, and SSD specifications while neglecting these critical details, often opting for aesthetics over functionality. For instance, high-end laptops like Alienware now come with soldered storage and RAM, much like MacBook Pros.
For those seeking high-quality hardware, a custom-built PC may be a more reliable choice, as it offers greater control and fewer compromises compared to laptops.
I hope this provides a clearer picture of the situation in the laptop industry.
Should you have any questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
      Cheers! 🍻

A great help ! Thanks a lot ! I put my feedback to others poor people obliged to change the keyboard :-( of a Lenovo (mine is not the same of the tutor but enough similar to follow instructions ):
1/ don't forget to have a solder at disposal !
2/ as the remove of the heads of plastic solders make them insufficient to fix the new keyboard, I dissolved some parts of the inside disk frame to get this raw material; it's better than to dissolve a button of the old keyboard which is in brown plastic very stringy.... but do take care to preserve enough frame to fix the disk again for the best!
Same to fix the metallic support of the mother card.
3/ everywhere take attention to separate screws with indications of where they have to be replaced exactly....
4/ 1 & 2 are the most delicate operations.... but re-connect some electric plugs are sometimes not easy too.... & for instance I advice to remove the fan before to re-connect the plug which is below this fan....
Hope that's all! Be precise and slow!

You can speak in your language, my friend. I am understanding and speak 6 languages.
Regarding your question, it seems you're asking if you can have a backlit keyboard. From what I understand, you want to know if it's possible to install a backlit keyboard. I'm sorry to inform you that it's not possible to install a backlit keyboard because there is no connector on the motherboard for the backlight. There may be a single LED on the CAPS lock key and the power button, but there are no other LEDs. To have a backlight, you would need an entire LED panel installed underneath the keyboard, along with a connector on the motherboard, which is not present.
Therefore, I'm sorry to say that having a backlight on your keyboard is not possible.

What is the name / part number of the silver-colored part you removed just after the motherboard and just before removing the keypad (at the 13 minute mark in the video)? One of the L-shaped corners on mine where the hinges screw down broke separating the two halves of the L. Thus my one hinge does not work well. I need to replace that silver-color keyboard backer in order to fix it but I do not see that part called out in the hardware manual. How do you re-secure it since you had to cut off the melted plastic "rivets" in order to remove it? Thanks in advance.

Regarding your question, yes you can use a double sided adhesive tape and stick in there, but you will need to take the converter board from this:
      amzn.to/47AvV0T
break it and remove the adapter.
and here is a video for ssd upgrade.
