as someone who actually owns a 10 years old laptop, I can assure you that after 10 years, the components would NOT look as good as that, especially if that thing has been abandoned and broken

Just sink my laptop in to water and voila it got upgraded with new hardware thanks for such a great idea.

Having had multiple computers in my 70 years on this planet you did some major no no's specfically washing everything including the mother board in water. The clock battery should have been replaced as it would never turn on. In short this video although looking like a complete restoration is a complete fake.
Seeing the heatpipe being installed without ANY thermal paste applied hurt my soul deeply.
Fraud 😡

This is what environmental protection and true sustainability are all about. If there were more people like you, we wouldn't have a waste problem. This is the exact opposite of planned obsolescence, pointlessly scrapping and throwing away items that are still usable, be it cars, cell phones, electronics, nuclear power plants or clothing. Unfortunately, manufacturers and companies do not make a profit from this and therefore it is neither encouraged nor rewarded or supported in this society. I hope for all our sakes that this will change in the future. Thank you for showing everyone what is theoretically possible.

Well what can i say....
Watering the CPU and brushing the RAM and Mainboard seems pretty legit to me xD
Common thing to do when cleaning/restoring a Laptop :)
My Tip: Use Acid next time it makes it a lot more easier
You are certainly well done that you were able to restore a broken laptop, but you made a lot of serious mistakes during the recovery ! After washing the motherboard and cooling system with detergents, it was necessary to wash all these things in distilled water, and then in pure medical alcohol, to remove the water and prevent oxidation of the contacts . After washing in alcohol, it was necessary to dry all the components of the computer on the soldering station at a temperature of at least 80 degrees, and not with a hair dryer ! When assembling the cooling system , it is necessary to apply thermal paste to the processor and controller crystals, otherwise the crystals will overheat ! Before connecting the power supply to the motherboard, it is necessary to supply a voltage with a limited current consumption , so as not to burn the chips if there is a short circuit somewhere in the keys or bridges and chipsets .
So, this video Fake?
@@christopherfelix9971 I'm afraid it's a fake video.
There are a lot of things in this video that don't make sense.

I know it's fake but it's entertaining
This video is completely true. I myself found an old IBM laptop with a 80486 CPU buried in a landfill. I gave it a quick once over with a water lance and it booted in Windows 95. So I went at it more thorougly with acetone and a Q-tip, and now I got a10th gen i7 with Windows 10 and a touch screen. For my next project I'm going to dump it into a sulphuric acid and maple syrup bath to make it a quantum computer.
Oh btw if you put the board inside an acid and left it for 48 hours, you can get a window 11.
and if you throw it into a black hole and magic it out it will have windows 12 ez working legit real 100% not fake

In this stain, the attached sand grains are also unnaturally uniform. Also, even though the screws were firmly screwed into the CPU crimping part of the CPU cooler, there were sand particles. It feels like a self-made performance.

This video made sad and proved that people have stopped to value the things. Anybody has scraped fully working or slightly damaged laptop instead kept repaired it. He/she could give it to somebody who would used it for a while yet.
Jo, ještě ho mohl někdo využít, místo toho s ním degešák natočí falešnou renovaci a vyhodí ho.
Your comment made sad and proved you stupid to believe this be real restoration.
I don't know how the hell you managed to bring a laptop in that condition back to life, but you, my friend, have achieved an engineering miracle! If only IT repair departments shared your skills and dedication, the billions of tons of e-waste produced worldwide, mostly from perfectly fixable hardware, would no longer be an environmental threat. The world needs to embrace the philosophy of make do and mend. Everything thrown away can be given a second life, is my motto. Keep up the good work!
That's because a lot of these "restoration" videos that you often see are faked beyond belief. You really truly believe that this person actually restored this laptop? I wouldn't bet my left kidney on this video being real.
It's fake as hell is how the hell he managed it.
Tell me that you are joking?! Did you fall for this “restoration”? I am sorry to inform you that this is a fake video like so many others. They found an opportunity to make money fooling people on YT specially those who does not understand computers
And electronic circuit boards
You know these videos are fake right?
Perhaps, but it's still a good example of making do and mending. There are tons of discarded electronics out there that are not beyond saving and could be restored and reused, yet they still end up on the landfill. Sheer waste!
Wow, just like other broken laptop find and repair i saw on this channel, looks like all parts were left to sit for a day in the collective ashtray of a chain smoking house.
OH MY GOD ITS FUCKING FAKE HOW BRAIN DEAD CAN HUMANS BE
Very Nice. 😍😍 Love From India ❤❤
I love the random checks of continuity and circuit board function with the analogue "test" meter on the system board. the way something falls of the mobo during the final scrub ( maybe a surface mount component ) , he inspects and as quickly discards. Wonder if it was an Apple he would dry out the water spillage sensors. Look out for the state of the WIFI cables coming from the screen as the keyboard cover is fitted , they are fused together yet he confidently connects to his router ... I can sell the bovine already lol
Yeah that was satisfying
The sad thing is that these people who literally destroy our earth (i mean look at all that fucking garbage everywhere man i hate this part of the world so much...) make money with these fake vids, really disturbing.
