This one will leave you in stitches. Well written and performed. One of Amos N' Andy's top episodes.
I've heard of this show but I never seen it until now!! Cool
Genius actors. I watched this with my grandmother, and we laughed a lot! It was quite a concession for her time. Bless her old racist heart, she could see the humanity in these wonderful characters!
Kingfish reminds me of Mr. Haney on Green Acres. Always scheming to rip somebody off! LOL
Terrific skits with clever writing and superb acting talent. Clean humor that one doesn’t see today.
I love this. Cast it to my TV to watch and was back in my childhood 😂. Thank you SOOOO much.
Another one of my favorites
I just 3 hernias from laughing so much!
So you're mixing up with the high polluted!"" LOL
B4 I get to the end, you know good n dang well if she wants a nice dress, she is gonna wanna wear her nice coat over it. 🤣🤣
As a boy, I was in love with Sapphire (Ernestine Wade)... She was the only woman I remember from back then that had some 'BACK'... and much too pretty and young to be the Kingfish's wife, but they made it work, seamlessly!
Me. Wade was a Beautiful lady for sure.
Sapphire did have a pretty figure.
Actually she was pretty sophisticated of an actress. Well played and directed.
I watched an episode where Sapphire had a black spaghetti strapped evening gown and she was absolutely stunning.
BLESSED DAY STAY SAFE
Great Comedy! 😆🤣🤣
Kingfish and Andy not only Simonized their watches, they also Simonized their fur coats.
No no, kingfish was having it "glazed"
"Why do we have to go to the 6th flo for?" 😆 🤣 😂
Holy mackerel der Andy!
The guys were portrayed as bumbling mumbling idiots ,the ladies dignified and smart. Just like the present.
One element of comedy is dysfunctional characters!!!
😮🎉😵Just like on Recent 👀
T V Programing! So Sad‼️🧐💔✨☹️
Lol
There was one program that sticks in my mind from watching it back in the 1950s , for my dad would drive my mum mad for years afterwards, walking around saying "MAN ! THIS SHURE IS A THIN HOUSE!"
Generational. My 28 year old at first would not get it immediately. He' studying Japanese - ironic after all these years. Love all these. They bring you up.
Two gals one coat !!! 😂
Love ❤️ the show....
It's muscat dyed squirrel!
I can't believe my eyes and ears.. Our people on tv without a stereotypical racist twists.. 70 years ago.. Wow.. Begs a lot of questions as to what happened.. Great wholesome entertainment..

??? Ummm
The NAACP had this show canceled
Just like cancel culture today they said it was racist. It will soon be illegal to show these on any medium as the socialists find out it's still being viewed anywhere.
Everyone should thank Bill Cosby for taking Amos and Andy off of the air and out of view of the public. Bill Cosby bought all of the film and production rights of the synthetic. He said it portrayed black people in a negative way.
I think Bill Cosby has portrayed and shown black people in a negative way.
I wonder if Bill Cosby ever thought of how much the people and viewing public loved watching the Amos and Andy show. It is truly missed.
Today the Amos and Andy show is considered the first and best situation comedy ever written.
The money and the lies that's what happened...money and lies
Nice
The NAACP proved they are nothing but hot air. They got this show canceled and took away work from one of the greatest comic actors of all time, Tim Moore.
Tim Moore? YES, the greatest. And he was also a decent, moral human being otherwise also.
Because test that time prevalent attitudes existed and considered all were like King Fish. The program hilarious. Here in SF east bay 40 years ago people STILL complained. Requires sense of humor; an intellectual acumen; but it was the time when we “negros” were considered stupid. Many cast members spoke “the king’s English” impeccable.
This is just good humor. Not racist just funny .
" Good Morning "

" I'll Always Love Lipstick RED."
This is good thing.Listen and see Look what happen
Director George Sevens worked at the Hal Roach Studio over 20 years before this episode was shot. Note:The George Stevens Salon sign
Johnny Lee 🥰
This show was a good comedy that also tried to introduce many examples of successful black folk's to the wider population. While the Kingfish and his schemes always failed. And the better values were upheld. But the NAACP and some other's wanted to be the one's that decided what was allowed. And CBS caved. In the 70's much more degrading black comedy became common.
AMOS AND ANDY was a great show with a cast of seasoned and overachieving performers. It sickened me to see their work trashed by race-obsessed noisemakers.
@@flintknudsen2155
Couldn't agree more. An excellent comedy by any standards. Went out of it's way to show black folk's in many successful jobs and positions of power too!
@@douglasturner6153 Very much ahead of its time in this regard. You would think the “woke” crowd would have championed this show for having a 99% black cast, but it goes to show you they can’t be satisfied. They have to find fault in everything.
A lot of people are color struck!
All you white people who is feeling a lot of guilt about race for once ,,, why can't you just leave race out of it and enjoy the comedy for what it is, if you're on a guilt trip start contributing to Black colleges and organizations
Andy hanging over pool tables!
The best
Funny ashell
Why does Calhoun say "YEAH, YEAH YEAH"
3 times in a row?
I like the show
9:48 Wow! What a beauty
"That's muskrat died squirrel."
its muskatt died squirrel
Wonderful wonderful presentations, none better 😅
This was funny. I notice Amos and Andy really isnt as bad as folks made it out to be, but I understand why it was chased off television.
Why?
@@salimokwaye3831 Kingfish looks ridiculous in that exaggerated accent and stupid-ass clown clothes.
NAACP should be ashamed. This NEW stuff takes us back to the plantation.
Why chased orf?off?? These episodes were pure sheer clean shows! Now the TV is full of sex sex sex episodes! It's disgraceful 😔 😞 😪 to say te least.
Pour quoi?
Sapphire is a beautiful Black Woman, we have many off them in our Race.
I just wonder where did Andrew get his money from
Why do we have to go to the 6th flo for?""
Best episode!!
14:04 LMAO!! WHAP!
Where does Andy always get so much money from?
✅✅✅✅✅✅🙏🏾
The scene where Kingfish and the sales lady spoke in whispers was due to the television production codes back then, where the script writers had to be careful about the subject of women having babies, as words such as _pregnant_ could not be said on TV in that era.
Is that a Black Baseball Player on the box of Corn Flakes? I don’t recognize that team logo. 1:00
It looks like it
It was funny but the did portray people of color as ignorant. Amos was the smart one always straightened Andy out. They did portray some whites as ignorant in situation comedies. But there was a lot of offensive moments.
They also did white people too like The Three stooges why can't you leave race out of this and just enjoy the comedy for what it is and quit bringing race into every single thing we do today ,, white people even today is far from being as smart as they think they are
An element of comedy can include dysfunctional characters.
Bill Cosby .... 🤔 I understand now.....
Bill Cosby another negro boulie. Who ordsinehim as a national negro spokesperson? Or was he a spokesperson for Qualuude products and Spanish Fly.
So he has enough money to buy his wife an expensive fur coat and also is wealthy enough to pay a monthly fee to keep it in a climate-controlled storage facility, but can't afford to buy his wife a dress? What blows my mind more than anything is that even the first TV comedy shows, from the very inception of TeeVee actually used laughtracks or canned laughter, as they do to this very day. YT won't allow me to provide a link, but if you do a YT search for, TV comedy scenes with laughtracks removed, you'll find scenes from episodes of 'Friends' that are mindblowing without the canned laughter.
🤣😂🤣u racist
According to my research and reading, an episode can take about 10 days to complete. The brand new CBS studios had a 500 seat capacity for a staged audience. An episode would be shown to the audience, laughter recorded and then added back into the episode.
Hey did you remove the BET ARABESQUE movie “Incognito” and “Masquerade”? 😩
yes. everything BET was taken down.
@@reelblack awww, that sucks! But thank you for posting all that you post. 😊
The kingfish is the laziest con man, someone would have to go some to beat him.
With the political correct society now this probably couldn’t have been made now
24:14 I see why the NAACP wanted this show banned. The racism and stereotypical behavior is too much.
